We purchased our vinyl flooring from Home Depot and Romanoff Renovations was our contract installer. I couldn't be happier with their professionalism! Nicola was very experienced and everyone was very responsive, friendly and professional! The Home Depot delivery was missing the stair nose and the moisture barrier for the vinyl flooring so I contacted Home Depot and received the restocked materials the next morning. Overall, I am very happy with the flooring installation.

installed beautiful Job

excellent service and installation! working with the team at Romanoff was a real pleasure, they kept us informed, scheduled install as quickly as they could and Ricardo did an amazing one person install from start to finish it was great experience.

Medford Oregon gave us the worst carpet installation and tried to blame it on us. Then realized that there installer didn't know how to work with that type of carpet. We would never use them again. Still haven't resolved the problem. Buyer be warned.

SubFloors was told to be too wet (above 14%) actually was bone dry

Romanoff has been the worst experience. I was scheduled for 3 days to get every inch of my house floored with LVP. They showed up and removed the previous Laminate and rugs and laid about 100sq for (less than 10% of the house) and never came back. They claimed my upstairs had too much moisture and too much humidity. Which is a lie as it's bone dry. They wouldn't use self leveling agent or Kilz for pet stains saying that I need a GC for those things which EVERY GC has laughed at. Their communication has been beyond poor. Ive been waiting multiple days to hear more from the project manager and I've had to call them about 30 times and Home Depot about 20 times. They said they'd comeback in over a month to complete the job which would mean my dogs would need to stay at a kennel for over a month and my family would need to stay at a hotel for over a month waiting that's about $150 per day in hotel/kennel charges. Romanoff won't pay that. Don't go with Romanoff. Hire a GC or local flooring installers

We had Romanoff install our floor through Home Depot. We were originally told it would only take 2-3 days to install and the project ended up taking 6 days. The only reason Romanoff finished on the 6th day was because we let them work from 9am to 2am the next day. After they finished, we found numerous spots in the floor that were uneven. This causes the flooring to sink in and make cracking noises when walked upon. My fiancé and I paid extra to take care of the uneven parts and the uneven parts are still there and wasn't fixed properly. We also paid the company extra to move our furniture and take apart our bed. We had just purchased a beautiful new bed from Arhaus at a great price. The bed was broken by the workers when trying to put it back together. They've already explained to us that we'll more than likely just get back what we paid for it. Due to their workers breaking our bed, we're responsible for finding a replacement for our dream bed that matched our bedroom furniture. (We are remodeling our entire home). Romanoff attempted to have a furniture repair man fix it, but the bed frame was made worse by attempting to screw a metal bracket between the headboard and beam. This did not fit in place. The repair man seemed like the job was a burden to him. This whole situation has caused us anxiety and stress. I recommend anyone else before Romanoff.

Ask the Community - Romanoff Renovations

We hired Home Depot for a full bathroom renovation, paid it in full in April, they contracted out to Romanoff , Demolition started June 12, as of today our bathroom is unusable. When can we expect someone to finish this job?

Hi Betty, so sorry to hear about your far too common experience. Based on my experience, you can't trust Romanoff to do anything correctly. Calling them doesn't do any good and apparently Home Depot doesn't care either. If the estimated completion…

I was told that screws would be put in the subfloor to stop squeaks and that there would be leveling applied to level out the flooring. Well the floor still has squeaks and no underlayment was laid prior to installing the lvp flooring. Next is the horrific experience of the hardwood stair install. I went in and seen the flush return sticking about 1 inch away from the stringer and asked if that was supposed to be that way and Joel said yes. I told him I don't think that is the proper way to install the FLUSH return. He turned the blame on me and said that I was supposed to tell him (although I'm not the professional). When I told him I didn't like it his emotions set in and professionalism went out the window. He removed the flush return and proceeded to use the oscillating tool to cut the wood from the tread that was hanging past the stair by half an inch! The oscillating tool tore up the tread wood pretty badly and when he proceeded to glue the return piece there were gaps between the pieces. I then asked do you think it's best to use wood filler instead? Joel said No, thats how they do it. I'm not the smartest, but I'm sure liquid nails will look very different when sanding wood pieces that you are trying to make look seamless. Something just didn't feel right about the work and the supplies for each step ran about $60 and he had butchered 6 of them already. When I asked Joel is there any way he could show me the work he has done on stairs, so I can see how they had did others flush returns and staircases and feel more comfortable about the work he was doing. Joel got upset and said "you know what you can find someone else to the stairs." How UNPROFESSIONAL is that. He proceeded to gather his belongings and when my boyfriend came he tried to ask how can we fix the problem Joel said no you can find someone else. At that moment I didn't want anything else to do with the Zurdo company. I have video footage from my home camera of the entire interaction along with the improper work that was being done. If you are looking for a flooring company please do not consider Zurdo Flooring look elsewhere. Stairs are very expensive and then for a company to be so unprofessional in the quality of work and the way they handle business do not waste your money. I can't believe this is what I have to deal with and now I have to purchase more material that was completely damages and improperly installed.

It was a lot to deal with at first, but Shamas and his crew took charge of the whole thing, including coordinating directly with our insurance adjuster and staying patient through all the paperwork and back-and-forth. We picked out a bunch of our own tiles and materials from Amazon and other online stores, and Shamas had no problem incorporating them into the project. He also pointed us toward more budget-friendly options when it made sense, and threw in some design suggestions that ended up being some of our favorite parts of the finished space. The end result speaks for itself -- every room was brought back to life, and honestly looks better than before. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were top notch; you'd never guess the place had been through that kind of damage. On top of the great work, Shamas and his team were just really easy to deal with -- quick to answer the phone, always punctual, and kept us updated the whole way through. You could tell they took real pride in getting things right. I don't want to say not to use Cristiano, but from my experience, there are some things you need to…read moremake sure happen. And other things to look out for as the project progresses. (This is for most contractors anyway.) 1. He needs to show up on the first day of the job and make sure his people know what and how the project should go. 2. Make sure they aren't taking shortcuts during demo and install. 3. Make sure the people who show up are actually skilled in what they're doing. 4. Disassemble and move your own furniture. He says they'll do it, but just do it yourself. 5. Check the work daily. Here's our experience: We had two levels to install engineered hardwood. Cristiano is very friendly and even helped move the boxes delivered into our garage, but we got his B team subcontractors. Cristiano said the project would take about a week, it was more like three weeks. We've done a lot of renovations on our home and this was by far the absolute worst experience. I tell all contractors, the work is between me and you, not your subcontractors. This is mostly to protect him, but also makes it easier on me because there's no she said he said he said... The day the project was supposed to start Cristiano said he would be there, but then two men showed up that morning, and neither of them spoke English. One spoke enough to get by, but as we did the walk through on the project I could tell it wasn't sinking in. I should have trusted my gut and told them they can't start until Cristiano got here to explain everything, little did I know he had no intention of coming by. They started getting to work, as they were disassembling and moving furniture I had to stop them because they were piling things on top of each other like they were going to the dump. Then half way through the flooring in the bedroom I had to stop them again, because they tried to leave the dust and debris from cleanup under the new flooring and it was obvious they were rushing. Junior said they were trying to get the bedroom done so we could sleep in it. I said I had already told Cristiano that we're staying in the basement bedroom and didn't need to rush anything. Especially not in THIS way. When it came to installing the quarter round (QR), Junior was using a hand cutter and the edges were mangled. For the upper level I said just leave it, but the main level I wanted it redone. Cristiano came to the house and even he said it looked bad. His guy wouldn't redo it, so I ended up pulling up all the QR myself, and Cristiano cut the pieces. His other guy was supposed to paint the trim, after the first day of painting the upstairs we saw that he got paint all over the brand new floors. When my husband showed him and Cristiano the paint on the flooring the guy got upset and walked off the job. So I ended up painting all the trim. When I asked Cristiano how he could let his guy just walk off the job for something that was completely warranted Cristiano said, "well, he's an electrician not a painter." Okay? I mean it explains why he couldn't paint the trim without getting it all over the brand new floors, I ended up doing it all. After pulling up the QR on the main level, Junior was not very friendly towards me anymore and it made the rest of the project really uncomfortable for me. Finally the job is done, and as some months go by we notice the floor is making the loudest creaking sounds. Junior installed the flooring in a way it can't expand. We don't know if it doesn't have enough room under the baseboards or if they nailed the quarter round into the flooring but in the humid months the floor buckles and when we walk on it there's creaking and squeaking. It's not a little bit either. And it's all over. I called Cristiano and sent him an audio recording so he could hear it. He texted me that he was out of town and would come when he returned. Nine months later I call him again, still didn't come out, always out of town, and finally I just gave up. It's three years later and now spring is coming and when I walk around the same buckling and creaking. I don't have the energy to pull up all the QR to see if it's a spacing issue up against the walls or if it's just that the nails went into the floor and isn't letting it expand. And then paint it again. At the end of the project I shared my concerns with Cristiano and he listened. I told him, his estimate was not less than the others I got. I chose him because of who HE is. And I'll tell you, Cristiano is one of the nicest and most genuine people you'll ever come across. It makes me sad that I'm leaving this review. However, I don't think I should have to fix the creaking on a 30K project myself, (20K material, 11K labor) especially after having already taken on so much of his men's work myself and living through the overly extended timeline with a toddler.
