In my mobile home was the original carpet from the 50's. I purchased carpet for the entire home from Home Depot and the set up the install with Romanoff Renovations . They were helpful prior to install with information on prepping the home, time, date by emails and phone. We ordered carpet through Home Depot and everything went well until the day of installation. We were told Romanoff would be the company handling the installation and Romanoff did a good job sending lots of messages about everything we needed to do to prepare. The arrival window was 11am-2pm. Just before 2pm, I called and was told the installers were running a little late. Finally at 3:45 a man shows up with his wife and asks to see the rooms where the new carpet is going. He then shows me the carpet in the van and says the color doesn't match. At this point it's after 4pm and it doesn't seem realistic that 2 people will be able to complete this job. We ultimately decide to postpone the installation because of the color mismatch. I tried calling Romanoff multiple times over the next few days and no one could give me an idea of when we'd have our new installation date. I had difficulty reaching someone at Home Depot as well. My advice is look for another option for carpet. When something goes wrong, no one takes ownership and after reading reviews of Romanoff , I have no idea why Home Depot is using them as a contractor. This is very disappointing and a huge waste of time because preparing for carpet is basically like moving out. I ultimately asked Home Depot to refund my money, which thankfully they did. I was given a 3 hour window, after the window I was called by the installer, saying he's on his way. Arrived another 10 min later than that ETA. Asked how long it would take. Ended up taking twice as long. When trying to figure out why the carpet layout was different than what I'd originally agreed to, spoke to the office manager, mentioning he was late. She brushed it off. She said she'd call me back. She didn't. I called the office again, was told she would call me back. Never did. Finally a lot of debris was pushed down my central air vent. The installer tried to claim that was there before. The debris was clearly what he'd just installed. He then tried to justify it by saying it was normal. Avoid these clowns at all costs, you will regret letting them into your house for a flooring installation. These folks installed defective carpet and never said a thing plus they caused further damage to the carpet with their unprofessional installation techniques. First I got jerked around on when they were coming for the initial install and then it took them 9 days to come back and inspect the damaged carpet that they installed. I called every day and tried to get them to come back out, their manager was belligerent and refused to address the situation. I removed the doors and molding so that had no interference for the installation but that made no difference. AVOID THEM as you will regret it. read more

I had both carpet and vinyl installed. The installers were kind, punctual, efficient. The company called frequently and gave me updates. There was some miscommunication about products I needed vs what they actually used (i.e. I was told to purchase additional trim, that then seemed to confuse the actual installer.) I was a bit frustrated that this is not a full service operation; there was a lot I had to figure out on my own; extensive prep, the sub flooring needed to be replaced and toilet removal, asbestos testing, all had to be done by myself or a yet another contractor. Also, I was surprised at how much paint, trim damage there was. read more

Well, just like LOTS of other reviewers of this location, the Portland location, MANY similar Google reviews, and Better Business Bureau complaints, I bought carpet from Home Depot, and effectively got stood up by Romanoff Renovations on the installation. It is a real drag when getting carpet from Home Depot that they don't tell you who's going to do the installation ahead of time...you only find out once you get a text from Romanoff to set up an installation date. At first, things seemed like they would go well. I got a text detailing Romanoff's first availability, and the option to select it or a different date automatically via reply to the text. A reminder text was sent a few days before, with a link to a video showing how to prepare for the carpet installation. The day before, I got another text confirming my scheduled time of 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM the next day. The day of, I received another text providing the name and badge number of the "leading craftsman", as well as a phone number to call "If any issues arise". Their communication was actually outstanding, and had they actually shown up to install the carpet, I'd probably be writing a much different review. Well, there were issues. They called me at 7:30 AM the day of the scheduled installation stating that "The installers are here at our Clackamas warehouse to pick up your carpet, but the Home Depot didn't specify which pad you ordered", which set off a red flag, because my invoice from Home Depot clearly had it stated as a line item. Recall that my quoted arrival time was between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, there was no sign of the installers, so I called the number provided. The person who took the call was helpful and friendly, but said that my scheduled arrival time was between 2:00 and 5:00, and that the installer had another hour to arrive. I told her that my original text said between 10:00 and 1:00, and asked if their company typically started installation jobs at 5:00 PM. She said that it isn't typical, and that it usually only happens if there was a problem at a previous job. She said she'd call the installer to get an ETA. 30 minutes went by, and I'd not yet gotten a response, so I called again. I got the same spiel, and finally received a return call at 4:45. She said that the installer was still at the previous job, and that they'd "be at least another hour", which would have put their arrival at 6:00 PM at the earliest. This was completely infuriating, considering that I'd taken the day off of work and prepared my house for the installation. A start time of 6:00 p.m. is completely idiotic and unreasonable, ESPECIALLY if the crews start at 7:30 or earlier in the morning. A 12+ hour shift of installing carpet is inhumane, and if that's the way Romanoff treats their employees, they really need to reassess their priorities and establish a sense of morals. During the 45 minutes in which I was waiting for a return call, I checked Romanoff Renovations reviews on Yelp, Google, and the Better Business Bureau and found MANY instances of this same problem, so I told them that 6:00 PM was too late to start, and that I'd have to reschedule. After sleeping on it, I went back to Home Depot the next day to cancel the order and get a refund. The customer service associate at Home Depot was extremely apologetic. She said that "this happens all the time with them [Romanoff]", and said that Romanoff frequently subcontracts installations, surmising that may be what keeps happening. She said that it frustrates them because it angers their customers, and hurts their business. To put it in a nutshell, getting any work done by Romanoff is a complete crapshoot, and the odds are not in your favor. Do yourself a favor and DON'T GAMBLE WITH ROMANOFF!!!!! He looked at the areas and got right to work. He said it would take 4-5 hours and he was right. They did a great job. It looks great. He cleaned and it looks really good. I don't take leaving negative reviews lightly- especially in pandemic times where nothing is easy on anyone, but nothing about the pandemic impacts my experience with Romanoff. They outright lied to me and they will probably do it to other customers too. I purchased new carpet for a condo through Home Depot and Romanoff was the installation team assigned to complete the work. They use subcontractors to complete the installations. First, I received a confirmation text with the date for my installation (12/29) and then on 12/28, I got another message saying it was now 1/11 - with no call or reason why it changed. So I called the customer service line and Makenzie answered to explain that my carpet didn't make it to the location at it had to be rescheduled (understandable- bad weather). It would have been nice if they called and not just send a text without helpful context. I asked to be put on a list for sooner if at all possible because I am trying to list the condo for sale and they added me to their cancelation list. I got an updated installation date for 1/4- again via text. I called Romanoff again to try to get an idea of the installation timeline, since I had to travel about an hour to the location and take time off work to let the installers in. The rep (I think Scott) informed me that I was the first and only client for the installer, so I could likely - not guaranteed- expect them at the beginning of my 8am-11am window. They said the installer would call 30 minutes before arriving as well. On the day of the confirmed installation, when I was waiting in my empty unit for a call, at 8:30 when I hadn't heard anything, I thought I would call just to confirm that everything was going as planned. I spoke with Hannah and asked if I could get an idea of when to expect them. She clarified that they could come anytime between 8-11am but she would check with the installer and call me back. I still hadn't heard from Hannah at 9am, so again - I called. I got Hannah again and she informed me that he "just left the location" when I called earlier, and was on his way. I asked if he was coming directly and she said "I mean he might stop for gas, but he is coming". I checked- my location was 35 minutes away from Romanoff in Clackamas. At 10am, I called again - this time worried that the installer was lost (or worse). I got Makenzie who very quickly threw Hannah under the bus saying that she was not supposed to tell me that the installer was en route and that he has until 11am to "do what he needs to do". She said she "spoke to the installer and he was getting supplies at Home Depot". So again, I hung up and tried my best patience in hopes that someone would actually arrive in the promised window. At 11am when no one had arrived, I called Romanoff. I got Hannah, who I informed that the installer did not arrive. She put me on hold to contact the installer and came back to say "he is in a long line at Home Depot and he will call you soon." At this point, I had not received any calls, so I did not believe I would receive one from the installer, so I asked Hannah to provide me with his contact details so I could get an accurate arrival time. She said she could not provide the contact information, so I said I would like to stay on the phone with her until the installer to call me as she said he would. She transferred me to her District Operations Manager- Lynisa. Lynisa immediately became confrontational with me on the phone. I had not (nor would I) raise my voice to anyone I had spoken with, and she was yelling at me and calling me "Maam" despite having my full name to refer to me respectfully. I asked her to stop interrupting me and hear me out. I requested the installers contact information OR for her to give me a more exact location of the installer so I could have a reliable arrival time for the already late tech. I said I felt it was a reasonable request to have this information for someone who was reportedly "on their way" to my home and already late. Still, this information was not given. I got off the phone with Lynisa and shortly after received a call from a woman named Elizabeth (not with Romanoff). Elizabeth told me that she was contacted because my original installer was a no-show and her husband was taking on the job instead. He could arrive between 2-3pm. I asked her for assurances that this person would actually arrive, she said yes and gave me contact information. Elizabeth called again at 12:20 to tell me the installers would be there in 35 minutes. They were and did a great job on the install after a terrible communication day with Romanoff. Home Depot's Manager on duty, Matt, Called to apologize for Romanoff (which they had not done, despite clearly lying that the installer was "on his way"). I informed Matt that I could not recommend Romanoff to anyone and they had been deceptive with me throughout the entire process. read more

We couldn't have been happier with the outcome of our wood floor install. The price was right for the labor and install with Romanoff. We particularly loved our installer, Danilo (Dan) N., who was professional and walked us through the tricky process over the two days he ripped out our old flooring and installed our new floors. He navigated a kitchen with appliances, fireplace, and several entry ways and closets that needed edging and quarter rounds. He cut the wood planks and installed everything in a way that gave our flooring a cool mosaic variety so it wasn't boring and uniform. When we had questions, he answered them with enthusiasm. He kept everything tidy, covering our furniture with plastic covers and using sliders to move things. I could tell he enjoys his work. It set us at ease to ask questions and really understand the install. Some installers are cold and far from personable, but Dan set us at ease. Romanoff coordinators were also great. I talked to several folks over several weeks to schedule our date and time. Good communication throughout. read more

After the measurements were taken, I was told I would be contacted to schedule an appointment. That never happened so I called to schedule. I was given an appointment time and she confirmed the carpet color I had chosen. The day of the install, the two man crew showed up on time, were friendly and did a good job installing the carpet. The problem was that they brought the wrong color. I didn't have time to wait another two weeks for the correct color because I was putting my house on the market in less than a week. The carpet looks nice aside from a small but pretty visible seam. I'm most unhappy about the carpet color however. Home Depot refunded me about 13% of the total cost but I would have also appreciated a discount from Romanoff as I believe the mixup was their mistake read more

Man I have no idea why Home Depot is partnering with such a sketch flooring installation company. My project was slotted for 2 days to remove my old flooring in my house and put in purchased hardwood flooring from Home Depot. The day of the install only one worker shows up to complete the project. That should have been my first red flag there. When he gets inside and sees what he has to do the complaints start rolling in about how this is a difficult project with all the different angles and closet doors etc. not the most professional. I let the worker get started and within an hour of him starting he calls me and tells me he cannot continue because some of the subfloor in a small portion of my house has to be replaced. I asked if he could replace the subfloor and he tells me he can't even if I paid the additional cost. What kind of flooring company can't replace subfloor??? He tells me he's leaving for the day. I call the main office and explain the situation and ask to see if the installer could just work on the areas of my house that didn't need subfloor replacement. They agreed and said they would contact the installer to continue work on my floors. When I get home surprise surprise...the contractor isn't there and nothing has been done at all. At this point I just start looking for another company to complete the install...which was a good call on my part because Romanoff didn't even call me back to follow up to finish the project. They had some inexperienced people show up that didn't speak English and they refused to even start the carpet install because there were a few small things I needed to put on the balcony. They want $400 to come back out and have me waiting all day. Lots of stress and I'm being scammed out of $3000 because they want to refund me only $1000. Total fucking scam and waste of time. Complain about how the carpets dirty and don't want to touch dirty carpet even though it's their job to replace it. They have you waiting all day for whenever it's convenient for them to show up if they even show up at all. I will probably have to sue this place to get my $3,000 back or may even lose my $3,000. read more

I do not understand some of the negative reviews. These guys worked almost non-stop from 9 am to about pm. And then just like magic Romanoff took care of every detail in scheduling and preparing me for what to expect.
