John and Ivan were very easy to work with while choosing the right flooring, putting the plan together, and adjusting to the requirements of my HOA. It really was a pleasure working with these guys. They were very professional, and very amiable. And the installers, led by another Ivan, were great! Ivan's focus, attention to detail, and on-site decision-making was really impressive. Excellent selection, great value, excellent customer service! I've made 3 laminate flooring purchases and each time the customer service had been exceptional. I highly recommend having employee John R. assist you with any questions or to place order(s). He made sure my orders were placed immediately and all of my orders arrived within a week. A couple things to know... 1) They don't keep inventory at the Portland location, it ships from a distribution center in central/eastern WA. 2) Orders are delivered to a logistics warehouse on Swan Island (near UPS) that's where customers must pick up their orders. 3) Simple Floors doesn't do installations and they don't contract with installers, they only sell the products (flooring). read more

The flooring company itself was great, I was an easy customer. Came in late on Monday May 11, selected an engineered hard wood about 40 min later. Was told it would arrive at my home the following Wednesday. Most of it did. But buyer: beware of the supplier you get, here is where the problem started. (As reference, I ordered from the Monarch line). My order was missing a crucial stair nose plank, and I'm stuck with a partially finished floor. It will end up delaying this project about 12-14 days, as I'm re-arranging labor, and tools, etc. Also, while the thought was nice, the Simple floors rep REALLY got my hopes up by saying early on the missing plank could be overnighted. That hasn't occurred, and I'm unsure why he suggested it was a possibility if he couldn't make it happen. read more

FYI: This review would have zero stars but you have to have at least one to get it published. We contracted Simple Floors and paid them over $10,000 to resurface our home. Almost all of it with an engineered product they recommended. The folks they hired arrived, removed our old flooring, installed the floor we chose based on their supposed expertise. Within a month or two the floor sections started to separate creating 1/4" gaps. We contacted DAIVD and requested they rectify the problem. He sent the original subcontractor "ROMAN" who showed to fix the issue which he did. It did not last; the gaps came back and we now have even more than before (like 7m - photos attached). So we called DAVID again and he told us Roman was in Hawaii but he would come as soon as he got back. That was 6 months ago and this ROMAN person has never shown nor has DAVID even bothered to contact us to explain why. Their service sucks! Don't buy flooring, tile, anything from these people. read more

I don't normally leave reviews of any kind but felt like I should in this case. We were looking to replace the flooring in our new home and called around town and eventually landed on Simple Floors. We went in and chose a Engineered Hardwood and the staff was very kind and helpful. We had their subcontractor come out and measure our home for the estimate. He was quick and also very nice. He said he would give us the estimate that evening and we should expect it then. The next day, we haven't received anything at all so I call Simple Floors and speak to the staff there and they mention that the quote left some things off and that they would revise it and send it back to me. I made sure to verify my phone number and email, just to be sure. Next day, nothing. Following day, nothing. I call them again and this time the associate is "helping another customer", so I leave a message for a call back. Next day, no calls. I call again and same thing, they are "helping another customer". Leave a message and number. Several days of this go by, us calling Simple Floors and not receiving any return calls, emails, texts or voicemails. I called the subcontractor too, just to see if he would install the flooring if we found another vendor, nothing from him either. Not sure why Simple Floors decided to ghost us on this job. A simple explanation would've gone a long way honestly. We wasted a ton of time and effort trying to give them our business. Unfortunately, it seems like they are very unprofessional after all and weren't interested in our business. Went with another local company and had the installers in our home within a week. Seems like we dodged a bullet on Simple Floors. Go with literally any other company. read more

I had a super smooth and positive experience working with David at Simple Floors. I bought a condo and wanted the ugly laminate floors ripped out and new engineered wood floors put in. Hi there -- Roman's team from Simple Floors Portland refinished two rooms and a hallway for us. They are lovely, just lovely. The red and white oak are smooth, shining, and well-sealed. Not only that, but Roman was friendly and professional the entire time, letting us know exactly what he was doing, how long it would take, and what to expect in terms of time we can't walk on the floors. (Socks tomorrow!) In other news, the expense was about $900 less than what we had been told to expect for good work of this kind in Portland. So go, team! They removed and replaced the carpet in an apartment. The work was professional, they arrived on time and were done quickly, even left me a couple of cute little circular pieces of carpet as doormats. It seemed really expensive to me, $500 minimum for the labor, so the labor was half the cost and the whole job was almost $1000 for only 250 or so square feet. But I don't know what this stuff is supposed to cost these days and I didn't have time to hassle with multiple bids. This is why only 4 stars though. read more

Long story, but I ended up needing to return a large portion of the flooring. David Howard, a store manager I believe, helped me with this. Recently had our floors installed by this local company. David was very kind and helpful. We had our whole house redone with laminate floors with cork underlay that look like beautiful hard woods, and plush beige carpet in our bedrooms. The crew was able to get everything finished within 3 days, even though we have no central air, and it was 90*F every day. I wanted to get my master bedroom done and went in to look at their selection. I took some measurements, brought them with me, and after a conversation with one of the reps, I took some swatches home. Came back a week or so later only to find out that someone had to come out to measure my room and there were no notes taken about my previous visit. So that was a wasted week and no communication. After they come out my room magically grew 4 to 6 inches and I was expected to pay for the 36% waste of carpet since now my room was larger than the standard 12 foot carpet roll. I went and got several other estimates, none had that level of waste, and all had a much lower labor cost as well. So much so that even though I went with a more expensive carpet, it was still about $700 less than these guys. read more

When I started the project to get flooring for our commercial building, I checked a couple of places and was unimpressed with the service or even interest in my project, so I found Simple Floors by google search and saw the great reviews. Sure enough, I went into Simple Floors and they were very helpful. Levi came out to our office and brought some samples, walked us through our options and helped us come up with a plan. Levi, who works for Rejuvenation Construction, was in charge of the installation, and he and his team (Andrew and Gavin) knocked it out of the park! They were on schedule or ahead of schedule the entire time, diligent workers, and a pleasure to work with. Various people in the office commented how awesome they were. They even volunteered to come in on the weekend to help prep the areas so they would minimize the noise/disturbance during the work week, which was greatly appreciated. Had two carpets replaced in a new home by Simple Floors and will be looking elsewhere for additional rooms due to customer service issues. Pleased with the end product but installation was pushed back; we were called the night before our installation was scheduled to be told that they'd be pushing us back a week! Utterly unacceptable and after my spouse had taken the day off of work. After 5PM and AFTER confirming the appointment window is absurdly short notice. We were given a modest discount to spend an additional week with two rooms un-usable (had to rip up the carpets prior to installation). We were told that they would 'try' to get us in on Monday if they could 'squeeze' in our installation. Weren't contacted either way all Monday. Installation happened on Wednesday, one week after the scheduled installation. Installer was great when he did show up and I don't blame him for the scheduling debacle. I'm pleased with the final product but not to the point that I'd be willing to go through all of that again. read more

I found them to be extremely helpful and patient in helping me pick some very beautiful wood flooring that I couldn't have procured in Palm Springs where I live. He talked us through understanding how much we needed, and our options, and was very flexible with our uncertain delivery date (our close date kept changing). Very disappointed with the carpet selection. We were tripping over flooring samples strewn on the floor in front of the carpet selections. Unfortunately our salesman wasn't able to answer a single one of our questions. It was so bad, we had to leave. I believe he was new to the job, but it was frankly embarrassing for him and uncomfortable for us. It appeared as though the store was geared more toward hardwood flooring with a broader selection in that area. The second star is for hardwood selection, otherwise I'd have given one star. Good luck. Follow up- The owner replied to my post and it sounds like they are making a genuine effort to improve things on the carpet side of the business. Just the fact that they care, means a lot to me and I might have to give them a second chance in the future with my hardwood needs. I hope they can stock some reasonably priced quality carpets in addition to the pricey Shaw products they are now able to carry. read more

David Howard at Simple Floors was a pleasure to work with on our recent flooring project. We redid 3500 sqft of flooring with wood flooring on the 1st floor and carpet up the stairs and throughout the 2nd floor. David was responsive from my initial email through yelp and his quote was very competitive. He was able to get us the specific wood floors we wanted (which we picked out in another state) and the specific Mohawk carpet. He communicated well throughout the project and visited the house to keep an eye on the project given that the work is done through subs. David even went above and beyond to help me get an additional project complete (all new baseboards) that was done separately through one of the subs that I met through Simple Floors. After a recommendation from my house painter, I reached out to Simple Floors to install a stair runner in our new home. Misty greeted us at their store and was super friendly and helpful and let us take home a large carpet sample for as long as we needed before making a decision. She and David then helped us through the ordering process and Frank came out to measure for our install. I requested a fairly complicated layout given the pattern I chose and different levels and direction changes in our stairwell, but Frank took the time to carefully measure and plan out the project. He was very patient with me despite my very specific requests. He also made the call on our binding choice after listening to what I was hoping for and the carpet was perfect when it arrived! He did an excellent job on the install: fast, clean and despite my fears that it wouldn't turn out like I envisioned, it ended up looking even more beautiful than expected. It's absolutely perfect!! Starting any remodeling project is fraught with trepidation. Mine was soon allayed by David (manager) of Simple Floors on Yeon Ave. in Portland. His patience has been described in other reviews, but I don't think anyone can adequately describe his kindness, follow-up, and pride in standing behind his products and installers' work. After placing our order, we had a series of things (on our part) that meant rescheduling installation dates. David was a prince and never complained. He just worked with us to do what was best for us. I cannot say enough about David! We had a laminate flooring from Belgium installed, with molding. Levi's installers were really great. We had a patterned carpet installed on two sets of stairs. Frank, the installer, was really professional and did a job that I don't believe other installers could have accomplished. read more

We chose Simple Floors based upon good reviews and the fact that they carried the CoreTec LVT product, which we chose to put in our basement. We were repairing major water damage and needed to do it quickly; David Howard worked with us to choose a product that would ship right away. We then had to wait a couple of months to finish another carpeted part of the job. Simple Floors kept all of our information and worked with us to schedule the work when convenient for us (and was courteous through a couple of reschedules). We bought our beautiful floors from Simple Floors and the experience was excellent. We worked with Ivan who was very thorough and on top of what was going on. Due to COVID we had to wait a little longer to purchase or floors. Ivan was patient with us making our selection and was super helpful in giving us tips on what is recommended.
