After paying for the initial floor measuring, I purchased my carpeting (budget pad and budget carpet) at Home Depot - in order to take advantage of their free installation offer. They, in turn, subbed it out to another party...always a crap shoot...so I prepared for the unexpected. Much to my relief, Romanoff Renovations (RR) got the job done right and on-time. A few items of note: THEY STAYED IN TOUCH: RR contacted me shortly after my carpet purchase to arrange an installation date/time window. They followed up the day before the install, and the morning of the crew called with advance notice regarding their arrival. I also forgot to mention the install occurred several weeks earlier than originally planned...but sometimes I think businesses give you extended install times so they can "bump you up" as a courtesy. WORK CREW WAS PROFESSIONAL: RR subs were great to work with! I had prepped as instructed to avoid any delays or additional charges ( including reviewing the video about moving heavy items) but there were a couple of items I hadn't moved because of time constraints (my bad); however, they were on wheels so I could move them as needed and the crew was very accommodating. Additionally, when the crew arrived, they showed me the carpet to be laid to make sure it matched my purchase/expectations, where seams would be placed, and generally what I could expect to occur throughout the day. CLEAN-UP: RR subs did a lot of clean-up as they worked from one area to another which was great for two reasons; (1) it minimized dust and debris in the air (I currently work from home and have a pet companion) and (2) it gave me assurance that at the end of the project there wouldn't be a delay because of the crew needing to haul old carpet and padding outside. FINAL WALK-THROUGH: RR subs performed a final walk-through with me so I could see firsthand the work they had performed as well as to confirm that it met my expectations. It looked and felt great ( remember, this was a budget purchase)! I couldn't see the seams (let's hope it stays that way) and the crew had vacuumed the carpet so there were no stray staples of carpet fuzz. OVERALL: I would say my experience with Romanoff Renovations was 5-star, to include the scheduling, install, and final product. However, one final comment. In reading some of the previous posts/reviews, I understand some folks may not have had the same positive experience as me (especially around customer service) which is unfortunate. That said, I sincerely hope RR is making efforts to correct those concerns where possible. read more

I didn't read any reviews about Romanoff until after my job was done. I don't get why everyone else seems to have had such a bad experience. I had a GREAT experience. Alex and his colleague were polite, helpful, fast and efficient. What impressed me from the start was how they laid out their tools so carefully for best efficiency. The tools were clean and well taken care of even though they were obviously well used. I thought that the respect their showed their tools would also be reflected in how they treated me and my home, and I was right. They answered all my questions, moved quite efficiently and cleaned up as they went. At one point Alex called me in to see damage to the subfloor. It had been covered up by the previous owner, and was bad enough that they obviously couldn't lay the new floor over it. Alex contacted his office, and they called me back with a quote to repair the subfloor. The quote was reasonable and I authorized the payment. Alex went out over his lunch hour to buy the needed materials and was able to fix the subfloor quickly. Romanoff had scheduled a day and a half for my job (three bedrooms and the living room), but they were making enough progress that Alex asked me if they could push through and get everything done in one day. They did an excellent job cleaning up, and very carefully moved all my furniture as I requested. Overall, I felt respected, valued as a customer, and safe with the men in my home. I'm a senior woman, and disabled, so having such good help meant a lot to me. I would have them back again. read more

Our carpet installers from Romanoff Renovations arrived on time to the job site. They came in a toured the areas they would be installing the carpet in. Then they immediately got to work. They estimated 4 hours and were done in 3-1/2 hours. Normally when the floor trim is existing in a house there will be a lot if incidental damage that has to be touched up after the install is complete. Not so with this 2 man team! there was only ONE tiny spot on the base of a door trim that we had to touch up the paint on! Also we have never had a carpet install where the contractor cleaned upon their installation before they left. Always little tufts of carpet pile all over. Imagine our surprise when we hear a vacuum cleaner running upstairs! The stairs looked great and the termination on the bottom step had a "wraparound area that needed the carpet specially cut. It looked great when they were done! The only thing that was little frustrating was the language barrier. The spoke vey little English so that was a bit difficult but we all managed to get things across to each other. They were very nice and quite courteous. The cost of the job was reasonable for the time required for the job. Needless to say, we are extremely happy with our new carpet install and would happily use them again. Even with the communication issue we still feel a 5 star review was definitely warranted! read more

First, not related to the review, there are multiple Romanoff Renovations that show up on Yelp. Looks like they are all the same, at least the sites all point to the same company. Ratings varies greatly. I would encourage folks to read all reviews. Now, why would the ratings be all over the place. The answer is simple. Romanoff Renovations which performs the install for Home Depot is more a middle man. They have many subs. You may get one of the good subs or one of the less good subs. In my cases as part of the scheduling I contacted the office in Gresham. I got a person on the phone right away. She was very helpful and pleasant. So when it comes to contacting the "local" office, I'm very pleased. I didn't try to contact the national number. Now on the sub that was assigned to my carpet install from HD. He contacted me directly. Provided details on when he and his coworker were to arrived. They called ahead giving me a 30 minute notice. They both arrived on time for the job. The carpet looks very good and they paid attention to details. Nothing got damaged during the install (the place was empty). They had all the right tools, no cutting corners. They finished by end of day and clean up the site very nicely. Nothing to complain about. Essentially, if you get the right sub Romanoff is a 5 stars. If you get the less desirable one, you may be part of the 1 star reviews. read more

Our carpet install went without a hitch. The installer and his wife did the install for our living/dining area and our master bedroom. They both worked hard getting the old carpet up, sweeping and installing the new carpet. Looks fantastic! On a negative note we were to have click and lock flooring installed in our Kitchen, Bathroom, and office by a different installer from Romanoff. He didn't do the job as he said our floors were not level enough for the type of flooring. We do have an older home and I would have gone with another product if I had known. Home Depot has a contract with a different service to measure. And this measurer said there was a slight unevenness in our kitchen, but should be no problem. He didn't even get a level out as the Romanoff install did and you could tell there was a big difference. But then he said he couldn't install the bath or the office due to the same issue. So he left. I ended up installing the floors and they look fantastic. read more

We purchased our new Luxury Vinyl Plank floors from the Oregon City Home Depot because frankly they beat everyone's price by several thousand dollars. Romanoff Renovations was the company to install our new floors which are amazing. I always knew were we stood with Romanoff. The company was thorough and communicated everything to my satisfaction. On the day of installation Stan arrived on time, which he did each day and got started. My wife and I looked at each other and asked him if there was anyone else coming. Nope it was just Stan and that's all that was needed. Stan was a machine! He worked harder than anyone I've seen do construction or renovations. He was polite, answered all of our questions, worked with us, and did amazing work. After 2 and a half days with furniture moving, Stan finished the entire 1200 feet of flooring, by himself. The next time we get new floors we will use Romanoff Renovations. We highly recommend them. read more

Romanoff installed carpet in 3 bedrooms and a staircase for us. Alexis arrived exactly on time, did the whole job by himself. and did beautiful work. He was careful carrying heavy rolls of old carpet and padding downstairs and new upstairs, too. The carpet is smooth, no looseness between carpet and pad, nice and tight. Once the carpet was down, Alexis combed it and vacuumed every inch till it looked like a showroom. He swept the floors next to the carpet till not a single stray fiber was left. This was a very professional job all around. My experience with Romanoff's mother ship was also good. They kept in touch before and after, and gave me a phone number to contact them if I needed anything. Nope, it was smooth as silk. Very satisfied customer here. read more

Prior to the install of our carpet I had multiple conversations via email with Molly and she was VERY pleasant and personable answering all of my questions and being very flexible with our scheduling needs. On the day of installation the 2 man crew showed up within the promised window and got right to work. Unfortunately the carpet we chose had a difficult pattern and required a lot of attention to detail to make the seems less noticeable but they took their time and made sure to get it right. The 2 gentlemen worked for 10 hours straight only taking a break when we got them something to eat! They cleaned up their mess and returned all of the furniture where it belonged. Romanoff Renovations installed a hardwood floor in our master bedroom. We got connected with Romanoff Renovations via Home Depot, where we purchased the flooring. They removed the existing wall-to-wall carpet, padding, tack strips, and particle board sub-flooring; and installed the plywood sub-flooring, moisture barrier, hardwood flooring, and baseboards. Stan, the single installer, completed the tasks in about 1-1/2 days. The work was efficient and clean, as was the cleanup. And in these days of the pandemic, Stan always wore his mask. read more

He did the job alone and was super efficient. He even finished ahead of his estimate on when he would be finished. Romanoff did my carpet install and did a super job! Moved all our big furniture, dismantled our bed, put it back together, and left everything just where it was. Even switched positions of our recliners so they would get even wear (special request)! I love my new carpet, it upgrades the whole house. Just have to say how IMPRESSED I was with the vinyl floor installation in our newly finished basement apartment.
