The reviews are spot on - Roman is absolutely incredible - skilled in multiple home service areas. He did an amazing job re-tiling my kitchen backsplash, fixed loose tile in the bathroom in the bathtub, secured a bathtub faucet that was nearly about to fall off the wall, re-caulked my bathrooms, re-grouted around the shower, hung a new light, installed door handles, etc. The man is awesome and he is a perfectionist, takes great pride in his workmanship, has extreme respect for your home, and is beyond reliable. UPDATE: Since using Roman several years ago for the first time, we have continued to work with him for multiple jobs including painting, patch work, stucco, drywall, and more. Most recently Roman did a couple very large jobs for us in our second home. Roman was willing to make the drive several hours away for us and did an excellent job with: adding new wood flooring, new baseboards, tile backsplash, framing a new tub/shower, tiling the entire shower and wainscoting in the bathroom. I spent some time calling "Handypersons" last week based on their positive Yelp reviews. Unfortunately for most of them, they did not answer the phone. Even sent an e-mail as requested by one company and never heard back from them! Finally gave Roman a call and he answered the first time, it did not go to voicemail (score!). I talked with him over the phone, we went over my 'list' and he sounded very positive. My list included replacing a broken mailbox, rebuilding the gate on the side of the house, fixing the dryer vent, fixing the under-cabinet lighting in the kitchen, fixing a leaky valve on the side of the house, hanging a flag, hanging large framed pictures in my son's room, adding some child proofing for cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom, and a few other items. My list had been growing over the last year and I do not have the time to work on things like this, and really it's just not something I like doing. Over two day Roman spent 11 hours working on these items. He gets paid $50 for each hour of work (total $550) and he also purchased product at Home Depot. He is friendly and hard working. Roman has a LONG LONG history doing construction in the Czech Republic, in Greece, in the US and more. He is able to do small items (like my list) and can also do large jobs like painting, tile and building projects. A positive experience. read more

Based on Yelp we called three handyman companies to fix our rotted out pergola over the entrance to our house. Roman returned the call promptly. One never returned the call and one jerked me around and said he would give us an estimate and then never showed, never responded after that. Anyway, Roman showed up, reviewed the job and discovered that about 90% of the pergola needed to be replaced. He did a very professional job; got the wood custom cut, primed and sealed it and painted it twice, fixed the stucco around where it joined the house. He is not cheap, but the work quality is high. Trying to "cheap" the front entrance of your house is like saving money by getting a cheap haircut; it looks bad . I would consider using him again. read more

He was able to do everything we needed done from removing old cabinets and sink to installing the new cabinets, new sink, new plumbing, new light fixture and hooking up all the appliances. I called Roman and he came out to assess a job - his quote was at the very high end, but we went ahead with him, although my wife got "creepy vibes" from him. I regret that I didn't listen to her. We ended up with a slipshod job, lousy wood and fasteners, and tons of attitude from a guy with a serious "little man" complex. To top it off when my neighbor saw the "Roman Handyman" truck in our driveway he came over to tell me that Roman had tailgated him and harassed my neighbor for miles. Roman apparently uses his big truck to make up for being a bit on the "little man" side. My neighbor was disturbed to have the big-truck-bully in our neighborhood. My neighbor is a mild mannered guy in his 70's. He described Roman's appearance to me after only seeing his truck out front. I had water damage on my laminate flooring 2 weeks ago and they had to take out all the flooring from my downstairs. I had fans to dry my walls and concrete for a week and with dogs it was an absolute nightmare! After they took the fans out I called a couple handyman and tile guys that were rated great on yelp! I called late on a Friday so I wasn't expecting an immediate call back. Roman called me Sunday and apologized for not responding right away. I told him what I needed and he said he could come out Monday to do an estimate. He came when he said and gave me an estimate and I asked if he could have everything done by the following Tuesday he said yes if he works Saturday and Sunday (fathers day ) well he didn't disappoint! We have used Roman for the last four years for minor and major remodeling jobs in our home as well as our 7 rentals in Huntington Beach. He was recommended to us by our neighbors, where he did major remodeling jobs in their two homes in HB and their home in New Mexico, adding rooms, bathrooms, tile work, adding storage areas, refacing hot tubs, painting inside and out, etc. What a find!!! He remodeled our bathroom in our home (a master piece) installed crown moldings, installed pocket doors, expanded the storage area underneath our home, repaired broken items, replaced toilets you name it, Roman did it. In our rentals he replaced entire sheds with cement underneath, worked on bathrooms, kitchens, installed appliances, fixed broken garage doors, replaced windows, replaced kitchen cabinets, installed tiles etc. Whatever we needed to have, Roman did it with European workmanship. Being German myself I am a very fussy customer and want everything to be done perfect and left clean. When Roman leaves the job everything is put away and spotless. He is completely trustworthy, he has the key from our rentals and takes the calls from the tenants for any repairs when we are on vacation. We know if something needs to be done while we are gone, Roman will call the tenants back and will fix the problem. He will pick up supplies from the home depot, show up in time and finish the project in a timely manner. No need for you to be there. If the entire house is dusty after a major job, he can set up a detailed cleaning service by his wife, Camilla, for an extra fee. We can't recommend him enough. I hired Roman to replace my 2 side yard gates (1 was a huge RV Gate). In addition to the gates, I requested that he pour a concrete "curb strip" under the RV Gate so that the dogs would not be able to dig under it (this time). He was meticulous and timely. The concrete strip looked perfect too. He stripped off the bad wood, sanded the metal frame of it's rust (on RV Gate), rebuilt from scratch the side gate. Installed the best quality wood and hardware for the job. Sealed and painted everything. The design was exactly what I wanted and his craftsmanship was excellent.
