Roma's is a family owned and operated restaurant serving GREAT authentic Italian food. I like the big chains (Olive Garden, Zio's, etc.) just fine but seriously, there is no comparison. Teresa's veal was rubbery like frozen Omaha brand, and her spaghetti side was overcooked however sauce w mushrooms was very good. I had Manicotti. This was one of the worst experiences I've had. The service was rude, the food was horrible, and the fish was frozen. The pasta said it was made with marinara sauce do to allergies we could not have dairy and explained that. The food came out it was a cream sauce made entirely with dairy and then lied and said it wasn't. It would be cheaper just to go to Walmart and buy a frozen Italian meal and it would taste better than that mess. read more

Our first time here. Lunch today, late lunch. We just finished salad bar. Simple and just very good. Inhouse made fresh bread is very good. Mixed our own stir of olive oil, balsamic and LOTS pepper. Food Poisoning Abound at the Buffet. I am from out of town and have experienced amazing Italian restaurants in addition to being Italian. Came here based on their reviews and not sure what the fuss is about as this place is not friendly, They did not know what Bolognese was and the food was like Chef Boyardee. In addition, the cheese in the ravioli's was sour and I got sick after eating them. This place is in definite need of a Restaurant Impossible Makeover very boring. I have seen fast food joints nicer than this. Gosh, Freddy's custard is nicer inside with friendlier people that this place. The food is not good, the pizza crust rubbery, the sauce tastes like it is a from a jar. No one said thank you when we left or even hello when we arrived. Maybe they downgrade the food in Guthrie as Olive Garden which is not even really Italian has better food than Roma's. Visiting the area from out of town, and came here on the recommendation of a local friend. It appears to be family owned and operated. Someone from the back was making the rounds and greeting the guests telling stories of his family and home "the way our family makes it." There's a house dressing that is really good! You can't beat this place when it comes to down home Italian food. While atmosphere lacks, the staff is very friendly and attentive. I've been seven or eight times now. Each time I come away having identified my new favorite disk. Today was no different. A friend suggested the Chicken Marsala with grilled chicken breast. Oh my Lord! Wow! Mushrooms were incredibly flavored. Chicken was juicy and tasty. Pasta was perfectly cooked. We stopped in from Norman not long after Romas (our favorite Italian once upon a time) made the move to Noble Ave. and we were so disappointed. It feels crammed (because it is!), it was notably dirty on the floors, and the ambience they did have is 100% gone. It feels like a fast-food joint now and looks like one with the cheap signage on the building and adjacent sign, and with an absolutely filthy, sleazy gas-station-like bathroom. The young servers are not professional (not their fault) and the table-top "cleaning" was just smearing food around on the table. The owners have never been friendly, but because the food was so tasty, we kept returning. And while the food is still good, it's not good enough to get us back in unless we read that the owners have made some serious changes. read more

Roma's is good. They do a good job of creating Italian food. The waiter staff has a short patience level and are NOT very friendly or helpful. If you can get past the service part of the meal you should try Roma's. I plan to eat there again and when I do I will update my review. read more

I know this because my husband and I owned and operated a restaurant. They have always been wonderful to me and my family. The service has been welcoming and the food has always been great. Maybe your salad was underwhelming, but since when do you go to an Italian restaurant for the salad? Sorry your experience was blah. Your loss I guess. Just for the record, my husband is a chef and one of the BEST in the state of Oklahoma. You may not think much of us, and that's fine. Let me be clear. 1: we are called OKLAHOMANS. I've eaten at Roma's twice just so I wasn't judging them on my first experience. It's Italian food, but I haven't been impressed by it either time I've gone. Pizza was very greasy, I'm talking the bottom of the crust greasy. Not good. Eggplant Parm was edible but nothing to write home about, I've had better at chain restaurants. They serve complimentary bread with the meal and both times I asked if they had extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar and was told "Yes". The balsamic was a cheap variety which I expected, not bad but not great. On the other hand, the olive oil was definitely NOT extra virgin. It tasted like a pomace oil which is a type of oil requiring chemical solvents to remove the leftover oil after the first pressing. It's okay for cooking, but not as a table oil or for use in dressings. Most locals seem to like this place, but it's the only game in town. While I would like all the restaurants in Guthrie to be successful, my advise is to drive to Edmond or OKC to get your Italian foodie fix, at least until they improve. read more

Small restaurant, looks like it used to be a Pizza Hut. Interior is fine, booths comfortable. "Think Bronx" comment is right on about the staff, but really it didn't matter that much. staff was quick and efficient. Wouldn't sell us wine on Sunday, but that's not their fault. Good menu selection. Salad bar is OK, just good for a starter salad. Bread is excellent. Entrees were good, chicken Parmesan looked very good. Lasagna was in a small very hot bowl/platter which looked soupy but kept it's form and was tasty. This town is hurting for good restaurants, so I would say this is a good one to have in Guthrie. read more

I was hoping for more after reading some good reviews of this place, but we were pretty disappointed. The service was okay, but the waitress didn't seem to know the specials or the menu hardly at all. Perhaps she was new? Well, that didn't matter so much, but the food was disappointing (which DID matter). My husband got the Chicken Cacciatore, and it was mediocre. I got one of the specials--spinach ravioli & chicken in alfredo/marinara sauce mixture. In both cases, the pasta was really overcooked and mushy. And about half of my chicken pieces were really tough. Both dinners came with the salad bar, which was also not great. The salad bar consisted of lettuce, olives, tomatoes, pasta salad, banana peppers, pickles, and maybe something else--some odd choices, I thought. I ended up with just lettuce on my salad plate LOL. I wanted tomatoes, but they didn't look that good and I wasn't a fan of the other choices. The rolls were okay but again, nothing special. Overall, the food was edible but very mediocre. read more
