Great cuts of meat at ridiculously low prices. Stumbled upon them from a friend's recommendation. It's the only location, but worth the trip all the way from Greenpoint to stock up on meats. My husband and I fight over their Bacon and cheddar burgers whenever I return from a trip to Bensonhurst. Things to eat while there - Burgers, rib steaks, and pinwheel sausages that are as big as your head. Oh and if you're making chicken parm, and need thin chicken cutlets? They cut them for you. I used to be a fan of this place then recently found out a few sketchy things about this place. They sell "veal chops" that are actually oxidized pork chops. Like, what if people are Muslim? You guys don't give a f***? Also, its 2017, old school bensonhurst doesn't exist and people are severely allergic to gluten. So when someone ask you if a slider has breadcrumbs in it, answer them honestly. Don't just think in the back of your mind "oh it only has a little breadcrumb, they will never notice." I want to thank the manager at Romeo Bros. Meat on 78 & 15 Ave. for telling me that I didn't need to shop at the store. You see, every weekend I go to Romeo and buy 2 Kobe steaks - about 1lb each @ $130/lb. Every Saturday morning there are 5 trucks loading, and customers are double parked, parked on hydrants, ticketed....you get the point. I asked the douche "manager" why he didn't load earlier so paying customers could park... his answer... "shop somewhere else, this is how it's done here". My go to butcher shop if I ever need any types of meat for grilling. Why 4 and not 5 you ask? I wish they open longer hours on Sundays because sometimes the mood strikes when the weather is nice lol. The meat is always fresh and the butchers know how to slice those chicken cutlets thin and nice selections of pre-made burgers like broccoli rabe and cheddar, bacon and cheese, with chicken or pork and comes in regular size burgers or slider sizes. This place is where all of Brooklyn buys its chicken cutlets and they all show up when I'm in a hurry. Most times there is a line especially when school lets out, moms buying dinner with kids in tow. The chicken is the freshes in town as well as the meat, they have homemade stuffed pork chops and chicken breast that can go right in the oven, Peter Luger style bacon slabs are also available. The owner was kind enough to not only write me concerning my faults with his business but to also address them. I have returned here at least 3 if not 4 more times since writing my review and the line has moved a lot more quickly. Now, more than one of the workers behind the counter are attentive to the customers. I really hope it stays this way because I do love this place! On one of my return visits, I finally got that ground beef and pork mix for my meatballs and they turned out DELICIOUS! For a Valentine's Day dinner, I picked up 3 New York strip steaks (for $20) and they were amazing!!! Not sure why so many complain about the service here. The prices are dirt cheap, so the place is always crowded and people buy lots and lots of food. Be prepared to wait, but otherwise you can't beat this place. They've got very cheap chicken and beef and pork, all very fresh, but also specialty stuff in the freezer and fridge--fresh turkeys and rabbit sometimes, grass-fed beef. I saw the great reviews on yelp and decided to go here to get two steaks. I got a dry aged NY Strip and a filet mignon. The filet mignon was extreme chewy, there must have been connective tissue that was no removed. The dry aged NY Strip was repulsive and inedible. read more
