Stumbled upon Meat and was greeted so kindly by the Manager and Bartender/Bar Expert, Benjie. My friend and I sat at the bar, and had such an amazing experience. Benji walked us through the drink menu and helped us choose finger foods as well. The bar was spacious, the playlist was perfect and the food was GREAT! This is our first time at Meat. This was an awesome dining experience. The ambiance was awesome. The service was exceptional. The food was amazing. We ordered a bread basket with 3 different olive oil tastings. My husband had the Tuscan bean soup & sparerib. He thought it was delicious. I had the rum old fashioned to start. Then Pinot noir with dinner. I had the lamb tongue. OMG! For my main l had a boneless ribeye which surprisingly came with a marrow bone & fried onions. I had broccolini in garlic & red pepper flakes as a side. Everything was perfectly cooked medium rare. For dessert my husband had 2 homemade donuts. I had vanilla gelato with expresso. The entire meal was outstanding! We will definitely be back. This was an amazing dining experience. If you want something truly delicious go to Meat. You won't be disappointed. read more

I was excited to try Meat so decided to go on a Tuesday night for dinner with some friends and had a fantastic time! The restaurant is beautifully designed. The layout allows you to choose the vibe you're going for...whether you want to enjoy being at a chic bar or looking for more of a fine dining experience. We went on their 3rd night of being open but you honestly couldn't tell. Everyone was so professional, full of experience, and a true delight! Alright let's get to the food! DELISH. We started with breads and spreads. It was a perfect way to get the meal started. The dish included pickled vegetables, olives, 2 types of sliced bread and a chicken fat butter. SO GOO! Next we were served an amuse bouche which were compliments of the chef. It was such a nice and tasty surprise. Then we\ ordered the lamb chops and duck. Both dishes were a nice portion. The meats were paired with unique sauces and vegetables that completed the meal perfectly. We ended a great night with their (no doubt will become famous) melting chocolate over a chocolate dome, cake, cookie, ganache tasting richness of a dessert - I don't remember the name! It's was all dark chocolate (which is my favorite) so I thoroughly enjoyed every single bite. All in all the night was full of amazing food, service, and decor (very modern and chic). But there are plenty of them in Midwood or in Manhattan that I consider to be a better bang for the buck, like Reserve Cut or Barnea. We came here on a busy Thursday night with a group of about ten people. Meat is located in a tricky area and they needed a security guard in front. The waiter didn't speak much English and seemed busy. While all of the appetizers were excellent, my drink didn't show up for about an hour. It seemed to me like the kitchen was doing its job, while the service was what was lacking. Plus, we were with a girl who said she was there twice last week and was treated like the Queen of England. So maybe we were just unlucky. When we complained they gave us some things on the house, so that was nice. That all said, the steaks were excellent. This is despite the fact that the waiter only described them as "27" and "35", and despite the fact that we got them late and almost cold. No description on the cut of meat, no prices, and no question about how we liked it cooked. In general, there was definitely a lack of ability for the waiter to explain the complex food they were serving. Usually in an elegant steakhouse they will show you the cut of meat or describe it. At Meat, they did nothing but tell you the weight. Also, they were out of steaks below 27 ounces - good luck trying to get a fillet mignon. Also, our steaks were around $165 each. The salads were excellent and the dips on the bread were very creative. The chocolate dessert was cool, although the tahini ice cream was a bit weird. The drinks were lacking. Four cocktails to choose from is not nearly enough considering you have a full bar, and where's the Old Fashioned or Manhattan people are used to at a real steakhouse? Also, they had beers but beers were not listed on the menu - could really benefit from some good craft beer. All in all, not a place I would trek out to again, but maybe a place I could be convinced into giving another shot. read more

Very cool kosher meat (duh) place on Kingston Ave. Here's the scoop, the steak is aged and cooked however you like it. Its tasty, I give it an 8/10 The sides are pretty good, the house fries are an 8, the broccoli is a 5, the ketchup is weird. The apps are very good. We had the pasta stuffed with meat and pureed cauliflower. That was an 8.5. The drinks are out of this world but pricey. We had the Old Fashioned with Rum (22 bucks - give me a break!). The Service is impeccable and the ambiance is great too. Dinner for two was $250 with tip. This isn't bargain hunting at Century 21 but a relaxing, quality dinner. Would I come back, most definitely. read more

While we were rushed through the meal, it took the waiter 45 minutes to bring the check. 1 of the dishes we ordered was inedible. I had the privilege of attending a pre-opening dinner in this establishment, several weeks before its opening. The gas wasn't even hooked up and the kitchen operated on small camp cooking stoves, yet the results were extraordinary, as you can see in the attached photos. Chef Look really knows what he's doing. Everything is prepared on premises, including pickling olives, drying meats, sausages, breads (from their sister restaurant nearby), mustard, and more. Everything is super fresh and top quality. The food is delicious and wonderfully presented. The wines are excellent. The serving staff consists of professional waiters that are highly experienced. The decor is nice (modern/chic) with some unique touches such as their one-of-a-kind bathroom wall paper. Overall, the feast was a fantastic culinary experience. The overall experience was top notch. It's rare that I'm excited about a restaurant. I don't keep kosher, but I would certainly return to this place. This is an excellent addition to the Brooklyn culinary scene, kosher or otherwise. As for the kosher crowd: this is probably the best kosher meat restaurant in Brooklyn, certainly in the top 3-5 in NY and greater NY. Note that the attached photos are from a pre-opening dinner, and do not necessarily reflect the current dishes. In their website I noticed various modifications and improvements upon the ones in my photos. I'm counting on Chef Look to only make this place better and better as time goes by. I just left and was extremely disappointed. Two dishes came to the table spoiled! We ordered a dish with chummus that was spoiled, and the mash potatoes of the short ribs dish was spoiled. They brought it back to the kitchen, and then apologized that it was in fact rotten. But they did not take the dish away!!!!! They left the spoiled mash potatoes and gave us new potatoes on the side and charged us for the original dish and the new potatoes they offered us I was shocked. We spent all dinner with this spoiled side dish on the plate it was shocking. They did not offer us a new dish or to not charge us. On a side note, while ordering they were so rude. They wouldn't give us extra ketchup and made the biggest deal that the chef wouldn't let them. For $600+ this dinner was extremely disappointing and I highly recommend you take your dinner party elsewhere. read more

Overpriced meat with drinks they don't have. The place is mediocre on a good day, the one great thing is the host will do everything to accommodate you but they will prob not have many of the drinks and the steaks are decent. Oh if you're coming after 8:30 the wait time is at least 25 min for a table you reserved at 8:30. In all likelihood they would not have one of the steaks your ordered. We went to Meat for the first time a few weeks ago, and honestly, it was a perfect evening. The ambiance in the dining room was upscale and yet not intimidating. Similarly the staff were all incredibly attentive but not overbearing. Not to be overlooked was the mellow jazz track that added to the sophisticated feel of the place. We started with the breads and spreads. It was all delicious, including the marinated olives, garlic spread and schmaltz, but the tomato spread was truly extraordinary. For our main course we chose the 20 ounce boneless wet aged rib eye served with a cherry tomato confit and oyster mushrooms cooked in a demi glace sauce. The steak was perfectly cooked, plated with a marrow studded bone and accompanied by some of the best oven roasted potatoes I've ever eaten. At this point we were totally stuffed but our waiter encouraged us to try the chocolate cake dessert served with a brownie. It was amazing, and of course we managed to consume every bite. Obviously we didn't try other items on the menu, but our experience will definitely lead us back. read more

The restaurant is stunning. They did a fantastic job transporting you from a shady area of BK to manhattan/Miami/TLV. Bravo on atmosphere. For appetizers we tried the charcuterie board, lamb ravioli, cauliflower, which were all delicious. Main courses we had a 40 ounce bone-in steak (can't remember the cut), gnocchi, Osso Bucco & again we were pleased. The chef even sent out a tasting for everyone of these great samosas to try from the kitchen. Cocktails were good too. The reason I'm not giving full stars is because my water wasn't consistently refilled (no reason for that since the restaurant wasn't even busy) and I personably believe the price points on each item are too high. Food was fantastic I thought the wet aged beef was something quite special but others at the table preferred the dry aged either way both were excellent and perfectly cooked. For me the biggest shout out goes to the sweet breads which are not a common item on today's menus nevertheless the flavor together with herbs and potatoes made it the winner of the night. Equally important, at least for me, was their cocktail menu. On this my wife and myself tend to be overly picky and they did not disappoint. My Personal favorite cocktails were the NY Whiskey Sour and the Penicillin both made perfectly. I've seen the delis, bak#eries, family restaurants and fancy ones in Manhattan. None of them is like this trendy new kosher restaurant that just opened in September 2019. Located deep in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, the vibes and ambience is top notch Manhattan. That night we came, we were the only non-Jewish in the room . _ We ordered wet-aged ribeye with bone marrow on the side (no price listed, price based on weight). Also on our table is sourdough with an assortment of unique and traditional spreads ($18), and my favorite sweetbreads ($27). I had an OOBE -- out-of-body-experience -- as I nibbled on the tender yet crispy thymus part! Delicious! One of the best sweetbreads of my dining life! _ There was a hiccup though. It took them 45 mins to prepare our ribeye. The chef sent a plate of gnocchi as an apology. Went there last night with a dear friend. Having grown up in a kosher household in Brooklyn in the 1960's and 1970's I look at Kosher food skeptically. My experience with kosher wines was they were to be avoided. Had I discovered Meat in my youth I think i would consider still being Kosher! Food was beyond outstanding and so creatively put together and thought out. Service was knowledgeable and impeccable. Steak was better than one I had at Peter Luger's a few weeks ago. A must visit! I'll start off by saying the service was great. We were warmly welcomed, and seated. Our waiter was new, but was super friendly and attentive. You do feel comfortable being here. Ambiance is nice, and they don't seat you right next to someone else if they could avoid it. Here's the weakness of this restaurant: the food. We ordered a couple of the hot appetizers to start. We had the veal ravioli and the cauliflower. You are served one large ravioli stuffed with shredded veal inside which, to me, was too sweet, but my wife liked it. I was expecting more than one ravioli for $30, but fine. The cauliflower was roasted, which is simple enough, and had a few drops of a very tasty tahini sauce. The real problem came with the entrees. We ordered one duck dish and one lamb shoulder dish. The duck tasted sour to both of us and gave it back. Could not even swallow the piece I tasted. The lamb shoulder was good. We replaced the duck main, with the Rotolo, which is some type of shredded beef rolled in a pasta jelly roll style. The meat was extremely salty and was hard to taste; mushrooms did not taste like what I'm used to. Also, the dessert menu consists of three choices. I thought that was kind of a very limited selection list. We had the golden cage, which is a chocolate dessert. It was fine. Bottom line here, there is no "wow" factor here. I've been to restaurants where you are eating a dish and just say "wow, this is really good." Not here. Best you can say is that the dish is OK. That is a very expensive OK. I want to really enjoy the meal for that money. read more

Absolutely stunning restaurant - the design will blow you away. The service is top notch and the food and drinks are delicious. With that said the prices are astronomical - everything should be half of what they are. $48 for medallions of chicken, $18 for bread and dip. For two appetizers, 1 drink, two glasses of wine, a chicken dish and a meat dish the bill came to $280 - that's on par with some of the priciest restaurants in Manhattan. We will definitely be back for a drink at the bar and a few apps but will most likely pass on the mains. read more

very disappointed, we were a group of 3 , without even ordering a steak, spent $465 and went out hungry. we tried all hot appetizers, and so two main dishes, they were all very skimpy portions barely enough to satisfy one person. humus was added to every dish they could, making it Israeli style. all deserts on menu were barely edible! and so, there's a very long waiting time! there CRAZY OVERPRICED you don't get for what you pay for, versus any other high standard kosher restaurants. read more
