I really enjoyed my stay here! We booked a room with 2 queen beds and were on the top floor (11th) and it was a great view!! The location was awesome. Right around the corner from the subway. Good dining options nearby (the pizza spot, Roma's, across the street was awesome!). And it was basically a 1-2 minute walk to several broadway theaters including the August Wilson Theater. Everything from the lobby to the decor and furniture felt very classy and nice. It was sooo aesthetically pleasing everywhere. The staff was so nice too! The room was very clean. The beds and pillows were insanely comfy. All the light fixtures were perfect and the tv was great quality. Also loved that the bedside tables had outlets! Elevators were efficient. Literally the only thing I wasn't super fond of was the scent of the toiletries in the bathroom but that's such a minor thing. I will definitely keep this on my list as a hotel I'd like to return to!

Amazing, comfortable stay. Great room for the price. Lots of space and adorable decor and cool view. We even enjoyed relaxing in the lobby. Super convenient, delicious coffee spot on the ground floor. Walkable to several places we wanted to go, and subway close by. Staff were so kind and helpful.

    Dirty tub

Noticed a bunch of hair in the shower the day we checked in. When we mentioned it to a staff member, they said "it's okay, housekeeping will get it tomorrow". Does not look like this bathroom was cleaned after the previous guests.

A warning as the AC wasn't working while we were there over memorial day weekend. And another note, there is a resort fee that is added to the stay - this is super common for hotels in big cities but it wasn't included in my overall hotels.com payment. I decided to stay here again as NYC hotels can be such hit or miss and it's a great location for the broadway shows -- sadly too close to Time Square but if that's your thing this is perfect. The beds and rooms were still comfortable (the thermostat never dims which is annoying) and the rooms are so big which is nice. The front desk was really accommodating and let us check in two hours early and was able to find us a room that wasn't an adjoining one.

If you're planning on seeing shows and going to MOMA or other midtown destinations, stop searching and book this hotel. It's rare for photos on the website to match the experienced, but these did and it was definitely worth the cost compared to other hotels in the area. Lovely comfortable room, the Deluxe King with view was on the large side for NYC. We had a city view from the top floor with a view of the buildings across the street. Friendly staff made it a great stay!

Updated decor with a cool vibe, friendly staff and located close to (but not in the center of) Times Square and tons of shops and restaurants. Night time was quiet despite being close to nearly everything. Clean, well kept. Small cafe that has the essentials for light breakfast eats. LGBTQIA+ friendly and super helpful staff. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Good location if you want to be close to the Theater District and Central Park. Standard accommodations, nothing spectacular. A lot of attention given to the "Mid Century Modern" theme, less attention given to air quality in the lobby, structural quality in the bathroom (shower stall and ceiling), and management style with attention to details in understanding guests needs. Miscommunication on several levels. Probably wouldn't stay here again unless I lowered my standards.

Behind the night table garbage can be seen from past visitors.

This hotel ruined my honeymoon with their smoking SCAM. Shame on them for charging two people who don't smoke 500.00 (840) Canadian for something they didn't do. The location was amazing, however the room shouldn't have been rented due to faulty systems and a deep cleaning is seriously needed. If you google Romer Hotel Hells Kitchen, you will be quickly made aware of over 20 people complaining about the scam their running. Steven Lantigua and Chloe Finney (management) clearly do not care about the hotel's reputation and should be ashamed of themselves. They are not only rude and dismissive but also cowardly in their lack of responding to emails. They will hide in the side room next to the check in counter. I will gladly share my photos of the room including: mould in the shower, filthy windows offering a "city view" you can't even enjoy, garbage stashed behind night tables and general poor maintenance. All which is hidden by mid century modern decor to distract you. Please don't be fooled by this hotel, Hell's Kitchen is an amazing neighborhood, and shouldn't be represented by this hotel.

cute lil hotel off of 8th and 51. for our first trip to new york, this was the perfect location for everything we wanted to do! the rooms were nice and big. they gave us fresh towels every day and even set one out on the counter to catch the fallout powder from my makeup i appreciate the bag holding that they do for check in and check out. it allowed us to get extra stops off my itinerary. overall experience i would give it a 4.5/5 the doormen can feel a lil pushy in my opinion so it's the only thing keeping it from being a 5 star stay

A friend and I stayed at Romer a few weeks ago during a visit to NYC. The building is nice (attractive, modern lobby), and the service was great (we called down for some extra towels and pillows and they were very responsible and friendly and the front desk staff were lovely as well). Our room was very large (not one of those NYC hotel rooms where you can't even find a space for your bags) and nice. The location was great for us (the hotel is walking distance to all of the Broadway theaters and we had tickets for a few shows) - so close to so many subway options (B/D/E at 7 Av, 1/2 at 50 St, N/Q/R/W at 49 St, C/E at 50 St)! My only real complaints are that the elevator situation was (typical for NYC) not great - long waits for elevators (one elevator out of two was out of service when we stayed, so they were letting guests use the service elevator, too). Also, we were there in April, and it seemed like large groups of school students (maybe from abroad) were staying at the hotel on school trips. There were always tons of people in the lobby (waiting for their group to be gathered). They weren't a problem for us, but it was strange - teenagers everywhere! Overall, a good place to stay if you want to be near the Broadway theaters for evening shows so you can walk home after!

Good location, helpful and friendly staff for helping us early check in (Thanks a lot!), so many good restaurants nearby and we really enjoyed the 2 hours free biking at Central Park

One thing to note: the hotel sits right above a sports bar, so it can get noisy when there's a game on. The gym was a low point. The hotel shares its fitness facility with a Planet Fitness, which feels out of place for a mid-tier Marriott -- not quite what you'd expect from the brand.

Prime location! Modern, spacious rooms (for the city)!…read more The elevators though.... Oy. I stayed at this hotel over the New Years holiday and was thrilled to be so close to Madison Square Garden and Times Square. As was expected, check in was a bit chaotic given the time of year. The ground floor entrance was PACKED with luggage on first arrival. After weaving our way through, we located the check-in desk on the 5th or 6th floor. Tons of people but adequate seating to wait for our room to be ready. An upper floor meant having to figure out their dreaded elevator system. It left something to be desired, to say the least. With only 3 elevators that service the whole of the hotel, and a 4th that goes who knows where, it was almost always a lengthy struggle to catch one. No buttons on the interior of the carriage, all elevators were called with a touchscreen device that seemingly tried to pack as many people as possible into one small space, leaving many behind that couldn't fit, before directing the passengers to another elevator to repeat the whole process over again. One day was so bad, it was actually preferable to walk up the stairs to the 14th floor. Woof. The room itself was wonderful. Spacious, with 2 beds. Very clean. Beautiful view of the city and the arena next door. Great way to catch the sun set. Walk in shower with both an overhead and handheld shower attachment. Great lighting. Shower had heavily frosted glass that faced the bedroom area so be prepared for your silhouette to be on full display for anyone you may be rooming with. Nice sized closet, safe, and mini fridge. Big flat screen television. Window shade worked very well to block out the light if you're hoping to sleep in late. Walls can be a bit thin, especially if you have a rowdy bunch of kids right next door as we did. Aside from the elevators, the perks far outweighed the usual peskier elements (e.g., noise, etc.) one encounters when staying away from home. Would stay here again, perhaps during a less busy time of year, if that's even possible.

The Library Hotel is every bit as charming as people say, but what really makes it special is the team. I arrived by car while the building was hidden behind scaffolding, and the front desk was incredibly kind and patient, helping guide me to the loading area so I didn't spend my afternoon circling the block. Housekeeping was so gracious and helpful throughout my stay, the bartender at Bookmarks very kindly helped my friend carry our drinks down to the room, and checkout took less than 30 seconds. Every interaction was warm, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming. The themed rooms are such a fun touch (I loved seeing how each one was inspired by a different subject), but I also have to give a shout-out to the practical things. I took a few work video calls from my room on the 12th floor, and the Wi-Fi was ridiculously good - honestly stronger than the Wi-Fi in my own house when I'm sitting five feet from the modem. Not a second of lag. The TV also had a ton of premium channels, which was such a fun surprise after long days exploring the city. And finally, a standing ovation for the real MVP: the air conditioning. New York was basically a sauna while I was there, and every time I walked back into my room I was greeted by the most glorious arctic blast. It was so good that my friends ended up wanting to hang out in my room and order dinner instead of going back out into the heat. Perfect stay from beginning to end. I can't wait to come back.

They also offered the price including breakfast. Arrived at the hotel and saw that they only had one working elevator for a hotel that was over 20 floors high. Why is this hotel offering a room rate price with breakfast when there is no restaurant for breakfast?! They told me they had bagged breakfast, which was always gone and coffee was all gone too. Took over 10 minutes to wait for new coffee to arrive. Renovation work bright and early at 8am. I was offered loyalty points for compensation by the manager, Delanie, and these points never showed up. I was also mistakenly charged for drinking their water bottles when I didn't even touch those bottles. They never even told me that I was going to be charged after checking out.
