As a patron at this establishment, who works I customer service industry, I was part of one least respectful and tactless encounters I have by owner of the busines, he was announced if anyone had a black pick up I responded yes he said move it, without question I walked out to move vehicle he proceeded to follow me out and berate me for parking in the spot saying " you didn't see signs" when I responded no, his tone elevated "really you didn't see the signs!!". when I made to my vehicle there was no sign for spot one next to it said employee parking nothing in my spot. he then proceeded to stare me down until vehicle moved. I agree with Lori C. - unless you are a regular don't bother. We waited almost 40 minutes for food while watching other tables - beer drinking tables - being served. We got drinks right away - but once the waitress took our order we didn't see her again until she delivered the check. After waiting so long for food I complained to the owner. He was rude and just made excuses - not my problem the kitchen was behind and you only had one waitress on. When we finally got our dinner it was just .. fair. My dinner was tepid but was served on a hot plate. Maybe if you are a beer drink with low expectations you would enjoy this place. But if you don't drink and are looking for a meal - don't bother. Romig's Tavern Experience... I had the taste for some wings this afternoon so The Queen and I decided to go to Romig's Tavern to try their wings. We go in and seat ourselves on the restaurant side. The server comes over and begins to take our orders. Lakisha orders 10 wings and asks for all flats and a coke. The server tells her it would be $1 extra for all flats and we say ok. I ordered 10 wings and a ginger ale. While we waited for our orders, I drank my ginger ale. The server comes over and asked if I wanted a refill and I said yes. Then she says there are no free refills on the soda. I said, "Oh in that case I'll have a water with a lemon.", which she brings shortly afterward. Then the food comes out. I noticed that Lakisha had all flats like she asked for but I had all drums. When the server came back to check on us, I told her that it looked like I got all of my wife's drums and politely asked if we still had to pay the $1 fee for Lakisha's all flats. The server said she would check. Shortly afterward a large balding white guy comes to our table. He doesn't introduce himself. He says " What seems to be the problem back here?" I responded by saying there was no problem and explained that it appeared I received all my wife's drums and I wanted to know if we still had to pay the extra $1. He said yes and then went on to explain that Lakisha ordered all flats and that's what she got. It wasn't guaranteed which side of the wings I was going to get because they just put all the wings in a bucket and whatever they pull out is what you get. I wasn't really satisfied with his answer but I said. "Ok." Here is where situation escalates. He then says, "Oh yeah, there are no free refills." (In my mind I was like that came out of no where.) I said to him that I didn't ask for a free refill. He says the server said that I said something about free refills. I then explained to him that I didn't ask for a free refill and that the server had told us about the refill policy and I ordered water instead. (By this time he was nasty with his attitude.) He says, "Well she said you said something about it so I'm just telling that there's no free refills." So I said to him again, "I didn't ask for a free refill. Now do me a favor and walk away from our table so we can eat our food." He says, "I'm not going anywhere. I'm the owner and this is my place." Then Lakisha says, "We're just gonna pay for our food and leave." I told her we weren't paying for anything. He then says, "I would rather you not pay. You didn't eat. Just leave my place." As we walked out he says, "You people always trying to get over." It was only the hand of God that wouldn't allow my cocked fist not to swing. We left without further incident. This place is awesome! Its not you typical restaurant with half service. The owners and staff are genuinely happy that you are there and it shows. the food is delicious and the environment very relaxing - even when they are busy, which shows they doa great job, wait times move quick and you can always get a great beer or cocktail. Drinks were good, food was assume, the only problem i saw was a lack of servers , They had one server tending to about 60 people , not effective, not the servers fault but managements fault, The one server we had did not smile and was not appreciable, no wonder , she was over whelmed. Talk about being pleasantly surprised! I have gone past this place dozens of times and never thought to go in. I checked them out on FB and saw that they do a cookout on Thursdays. We went there to watch some college hoops. The drink menu/deals were stupendous. The food was great and reasonably priced. I was stuffed and buzzed walking out the door. Stay Away if you believe in our National Guard. A close friend had this experience last night. This place used to be know for their respect of the military. Apparently the new owner has a different opinion!! So we go there tonight to have dinner and a few drinks. My husband hands the waitress his military ID, which then she goes to show the owner to make sure it's real and then the owner comes over and pretty much calls my husband a pussy for not being active duty military. And "only active duty is 2 for 1 not people in the National Guard" real military is active duty he says. Little do you know that he was active duty and has probably seen more action then he ever did. 2 deployments and you're calling him not a real soldier. You should be ashamed of yourself. Who helped the greece residents when they were flodding this spring??? Oh, the Guard did!!! My husband has fought in every conflict overseas since the war started. You should really go check yourself! He has done more in the National Guard then he ever did when he was active duty! And where is your brotherhood??? We have come to this spot a couple of times over the past few months and generally it's not half bad, but...So we arrived to have dinner and a couple of brews and were asked to sit at a table that seated 8, we were only 4 1/2 the half being my grandson who needed a booster chair...I thought it was strange to have us sit there since there was at least two other tables that seated 4 available but we sat...After what seemed like 10 minutes a waitress asked what we wanted to drink and took our order and disappeared...About 5 to 10 minutes later the guy who sat us down, asked if we could please move to a table for four, the same guy who sat us down in the first place...So we picked up our jackets, the booster chair and headed through the dinning area as people looked at us like we tried to take a table that sat 8...Uncomfortable glances for sure...Then after about 20 minutes we were once again asked what we wanted to drink and were told the waitress would be RIGHT over, well that was yet another 10-15 minutes...So we have been there over 45 minutes and have been relocated and have yet to have a drink or order our food...Grant it the night seemed busy enough but hot damn what a pain in the backside the whole experience was...The food was okay as any pub, but the rest was too much BS... read more

We had a very terrible experience here last night. We were treated the worst we have ever been. First off my husband hands the server his Military ID which you take to your owner, he then comes over to him and very disrespectfully says oh only National Guard, only active duty is 2 for 1, we all know the real military is active duty. Totally degrading him. Little did he know my husband was active duty and has fought in every conflict overseas. He has done more for the Army National Guard then he ever did as active duty. Had my daughter's 30th surprise birthday party here on a busy football sunday....Sunday 10-21, IT TURNED OUT EXCELLENT!!! Our server Mark was the best at taking care of us! I had nothing to think about, he handled everything before I could even think of it, he ran for us non stop, we never had to wait for drinks and he was always checking on everyone. He is the best at what he does! Ask for him if you go there. The owner Billy was also fantastic, from the minute I walked in to decorate, to him bringing out the birthday cake! He was also attentive and had all our food out on time, tables set up for us and everything was HOT and tasted great! He was a perfect host. There isn't a thing I would have done differently there, this place was awesome....I HIGHLY recommend having your next get together there. The place and food have been on a steady decline. Please do not let the cheap beer prices fool you. A chicken sandwich at Romig's is in the $11 range. It will be the tiniest paper thin breast charred to a cinder that you will ever see. I went there with my oldest daughter for mother/daughter time for their .50 cent wing night and waited over an hour for wings, the waitress kept ignoring us all night but would go to every table except ours to ask them if they are okay or need anything. Looking for a Saturday night dinner destination, we decided to give Romig's a go. (Using Yelp's recommendation of course) We were not disappointed. Four of us were all delighted with our decision. Our waitress (Maria) was prompt, answered all our questions, offered suggestions, and checked in for drink refills on cue. The food was prepared and served surprisingly quick considering the crowd. Three of us ordered different variations of grilled chicken sandwiches. Although my wife thought her's was slightly overdone, two of us thoroughly enjoyed ours. Our fourth ordered a meatball sub that he said was the best he ever had. Our two pitchers of beer cost less than our wives' two glasses of wine. If there is a policy of 2 for 1 for full time active duty vets that is simply a policy and a generous one at that when so many specials exist to begin with. Ladies night, Tues- $ 5.00 pitchers, Weds 2 for 1, Friday- some $ 5.00 pitchers ! Thurs night- fabulous dinner specials by far priced lower than other taverns ! ' Buy a shirt, get a free pint " ! The generosity of this place ( i.e., the owners) is unheard of in this world of greed we live in. Look boys and girls, Romig's is a 'neighborhood bar' on the west side of town. It's 60+ years old. The place is 'rustic' and caters to 'salt of the earth' type of crowd - get over it. You're not going to get cooties. Every restaurant serves a bad meal once in a while and in 40+ years I can count on 1 hand the number of bad meals I've had at Romig's. I have been eating and drinking in Romig's since before I could legally buy beer... I have since moved up in life, but I still go back to Romig's at least once a month. Not for the rustic atmosphere or the cheap drinks ($5 pitchers of Rohrbach's Scotch Ale!)... I go back because they have great food. Make no mistake, it's not a Five Star menu, but it's is a step up from the usual bar food. I consider the steak sandwich "The Best Steak Sandwich" in Western NY. There, you heard it here. They have other things that are fantastic also... and they have the best 'meat hotsauce' I've ever had - and I've had them all. And for you, who can't sit in a rustic bar, they also own Bennington's (sit down) 'Restaurant' on the other end of the building.
