Ron and Russ's Flooring has helped us twice with flooring needs in our house. They recently came and did a floor refinishing job in our kitchen. The two guys that came were very polite and were helpful with instruction on how to care for the floors once they were done. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves and the floors look beautiful. They matched the kitchen floors with our existing hardwood floors and they turned out well. The only thing that struck me as somewhat odd, was that the refinished floors, although beautiful, have no surface shine like our other floors, wish that I had known I needed to ask for that. This appears to be a common complaint from reviewers on other sites- they did put three coats of the sealant on- I saw it, just wish it was shiny. That was my mistake for not asking. I am so glad that I didn't read these reviews until after I had already put my money down on some carpeting. I probably would have gone somewhere else and would have missed out on their very good service and communication. We stopped in on a Thursday night, and two weeks later, yesterday, our carpet was installed. The communication was great. The installer showed up two minutes early to the door and did the work himself, without a break, in three hours. He cleaned up after himself, had me look at the job and even vacuumed the carpeting after it was laid. It looks fantastic and I could not be happier. The only reason that I didn't give them a five was that our first meeting for measurement was canceled and the follow up was forgotten, but he did come immediately after I called him to find out where he was. I can't say enough great things about Ron and Russ! I needed carpet in a two bedroom condo and had less than two weeks until moving. They met with me to pick something out, called to make sure it was in stock, measured, and installed all within my time frame. The price was the same as what I was quoted at a big box store for a much nicer product. The install looks amazing, I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. HIGHLY recommend! read more

Had them come out and put new vinyl flooring in a small upstairs bathroom, along with rebuilding some of the floor itself. They didn't want to remove the vanity, so they put in flooring around it but just put in a poor looking baseboard, which we had to redo. As time went on, because of the way they cut the vinyl to get around corners, the cuts grew larger and larger. They did come out once to repair it, but really just superglued the cuts so that they wouldn't grow any larger. The manufacturer wouldn't replace the flooring on warranty because they said the installation was done wrong. After many calls to get someone out to fix the problem, with the person never actually showing up, we finally reported them to the BBB to get a portion of our money refunded... and I really had to chase them down to get the check. We told Russ originally that we'd have them redo the entire upstairs and stairwell flooring if we liked the work, but apparently that wasn't worth it to them. read more

This is the second home from the 1920s that we have had the floors refinished. The first home we used Maxcare and they did a beautiful job. This time around (bc of how difficult Covid has been on local businesses) we decided to support small business in our community and use Ron & Russ's Flooring. There were red flags from the beginning that I won't get into but I pushed them aside and we moved forward with the project. We were quoted $800 and 2 days worth of work. The first day of the job they were to arrive between 7-8am. They didn't arrive until almost noon and then proceeded to try to lie and say they had been there earlier but couldn't get in. There are cameras inside and outside of my home; this was a lie. They worked for three hours and then were done for the day. This type of schedule continued for the next 5 days. Watching our cameras back the workers took about 100 smoke breaks so they definitely were not in a rush to get my job completed in a timely manner. They also left cigarette butts in our yard and hot sauce packets and other food wrappers on my porch and driveway from their lunch. We were out of the home during their "work hours" so we left them a key. Watching the footage back of the days they were in our home I observed them exploring our home and making comments about valuable items and family photos. These were rooms and spaces that the floors were NOT being worked on and they had no business being in. The whole situation with them was troubling to say the least. Poor and questionable work ethic aside the finished product is less than acceptable. The floor was not properly cleaned of sawdust before the clear poly was applied leaving areas that are grainy and raised. They assured me they could repair a split board "good as new" - they used large nails on the new board that look ridiculous. There was ZERO communication from them regarding updates, issues, completion date ect. They never talked to us to ask if we were satisfied with the finished product. One day they just didn't come back so I guess they were done? Then three days later they returned trying to get in my home (the key was not out for them). Abel left a note saying that the job was STILL not complete and asked me to leave the key out again; after all this I certainly didn't want to but I did. It didn't matter because they never came back anyway. No phone call from them. No follow-up. They left large, new sandpaper rolls behind which I'm sure I was charged for. The job took three additional days than what we were quoted and when the bill showed up it was $1000 more than our quote- no explanation. Then while we were weighing our options in what action to take (legal or otherwise) they harassed us constantly with incredibly rude voicemails demanding to be paid immediately. Allowing contractors into your home is not something to be taken lightly. Ron & Russ's Flooring operated in a manner that made us feel unsafe and certainly unsatisfied. read more

I had a great experience with the hardwood floor installation in my condo. Although there were some unexpected issues, I was not charged extra except for leveling the concrete, which I knew might be an issue in advance. The installer was very skilled and did a great job. Ron and Russ were great to work with in choosing the floor and coordinating the installation. I had the floor installed in most of my condo and it looks great, including the shoe molding they installed. read more

If I could give Ron and Russ's flooring a score less than a one, I would definitely do that. Our experience with Ron and Russ started off positively, but unfortunately, had a very negative ending. To begin, Russ came out to give us an estimate. In that conversation, he suggested that we replaced the transitions between the rooms.We agreed. After saying the job was complete, the workers had not replaced either of the transitions. When we asked Russ about it, he gave us the run around and told us it was too difficult to do--even though he had suggested it. After phoning the business multiple times with no call back, Russ finally came to the house to look at the transitions. Finally, they finished one, but he did not take care of the other. When they did finish the one, they managed to gouge the ceramic tile in the kitchen as well. Also, when the workers were at our home, they were saying negative things about us and how "demanding" we were in front of and to our daughter. After this one transition was done, we noticed there was a chip in the flooring that they had just put in and a corner with a large gap between the flooring and the baseboard. After placing multiple unreturned calls to Ron and Russ, we finally went into the business with pictures to show them. After some heated arguments, (even though there is a 25 year guarantee on the flooring), Ron laughing at us for wanting the work done and calling us liars, he finally said they would only do the work if we agreed to take down our negative Yelp review. We agreed. When Russ arrived at the house a few days later with the product, he said he would only give us the product, but he would not finish the job. When we told him that we would not take down the Yelp review if he didn't finish the job, he took the product and stormed out of the house leaving the job unfinished. It was a terrible experience that went on for weeks and weeks with contentious phone calls and unprofessional behavior and accusations. I have also submitted this review to the Better Business Bureau. read more

TERRIBLE Customer Service from owners. If their work is anything like their communication and service I wouldn't bother with them

You need to make sure that everything is in writing. If not in black & white its not going to be done. They hire Temps that have never installed carpet before. Then you need to wait for them to get there regular people to come fix the problem. read more

I also agree with Jolene's review. I too have never delt with such poor customer service. You have to chase the owners to get back to you. First off they did not use the vacuum system which eleminates airborne dust, that was promised to us from the representative. This was one of the reasons why we chose Ron and Russ's Flooring. We had dust everywhere. We understand that there would be some dust but not what we had to deal with. When we called the owners, they told us that their representative was new and we were misinformed. They did not abide by the contract. (They did not apply the satin finish that is in our contract.) The refinish and stain was very poorly applied. Areas missed, blotches and swirls with scratches over the entire floor. I requested an owner to come and look at the work but they felt that they stand by their guys and that their record is that " 9 out of 10 people say their work is absolute." They are not coming out to look at the floor. They expressed that - "as far as industry standards go - this is aceptable." My husband and I thought we would try a smaller business, one in the area. We are so sorry we chose Ron and Russ's Flooring. As far as the owner is concerned, "they did as much as they can for us." I would NEVER recommend Ron and Russ's Flooring. I've used them several times in the past and I referred them to my kids who just bought a house and needed hardwood floors refinished. Never had any issues in my prior projects but my kid's job was a complete nightmare. It started when they were 2 1/2 hours late for the first day of the project. The kids were moving in into the house in 6 weeks and left the crew to work asking them to lock up when finished. House left unlocked overnight. Scrape marks on much of the woodwork from their machines. Stain slopped all over the white woodwork. DUST everywhere! Come to find out Ron Russ turned it over to a 3rd party. The kids get pushed off to the 3rd party, 3rd party says call Ron Russ. Russ said he'd make it 100%. Never reached out to contact them. 3rd party raising his voice "check your contract, check your contract". Just a waste all around. Job wasn't complete. Kids got some discount and just paid and moved on. Never again. Ever hear of dustless sanding? It does work. No more recommendations or business. read more

Stay away! 30% mis measurement by Russ. Tried to pass it along with no apology or much explanation. Shoddy work-Say they have there own workers that work on the job 9-3 with beer breaks, lunch and such. Job took 3 weeks instead of 1 I was told. Shop isn't open when it says it is. Russ and Ron show no compassion for their customers and don't take pride in the work their name is behind. read more

Absolutely terrible. They have their own workers and you are lucky if they go from 9-3:30 and this was especially disturbing since the project was supposed to take one week and ended up taking four weeks. They had no clue how to cut molding. The workers said they only knew how to do 45 degree angles and said that they couldn't do our corners correctly because our house was crooked. Russ (the man in charge) came over to inspect when I brought this to his attention and he wasn't bothered by the poor quality and he gave us a change order for nearly $1,200 because their measurements were inaccurate. Very rude and impolite. In the end we split the difference and the work got to about B quality work. We just wanted them out and we are still traumatized over the whole project to this date. My mother hired these guys to refinish her kitchen they showed up 20 minutes late smelling like marijuana they did a poor job sanding my floor it was rough David say he put 3 coats on the floor mom was there the whole time and only counted 2 he said the first coat was a sealer and a coat all in one I'm still confused on that if its only 2 coats its only 2 coats I called other floor company's to find out 3 coats of finish is 3 separate applications not 2 we feel cheated we also had a set of steps that David said he could do on the side because Ron and Russ doesn't sand steps well I can tell you this I talk to tony with max care and they have been going behind Dave and Ron and Russ alot the last 5 months max care did my steps and risers and nobody was high read more

Beware!!! Absolutely horrible! I wish I could rate them with zero stars. Refinished hardwood floor in living room and hallway. They installed a shoe around the room that was obviously NOT stained or sealed. Owners, Ron and Russ, refused to come and look at work but insisted it was done properly. I stained the shoe myself without having to sand so it was obviously NOT even sealed. They also installed tile in my bathroom along with a new base board. The supposed new baseboard was spray painted white (you can even see places they missed the paint) which is not the right method. In addition, the supposed new baseboard is very dirty. The dirt marks DO NOT wipe off because the wood was not painted properly. Again, the owners refused to come out and look at the job. They just kept saying their workers did everything right. I now have to repaint my new baseboard. They also used tape to block off my kitchen and the tape ripped sections of my wallpaper off of my kitchen walls. They refused to deal with us and just insisted they be paid for the work. They are the worst company I have ever had to deal with. DO NOT USE Ron and Russ Flooring.!!! read more
