Curly girls BEWARE! Was told they had a curly hair stylist Taniya, from the start of my service with her explained to her the problems sulfates and silicones cause my hair. After much reassurance they would not be used she used them anyway with the Biolage products. The next day my hair was falling out at the roots. After booking me in for follow up was rudely told to see a dermatologist. The manager Maddy of the Knightdale, NC location made it very clear that they do not have products without sulfates or silicones. The quality of service and staff leaves much to be desired. Having to pay a $50 non refundable deposit before you walk in the door is questionable. If you value healthy curls this salon is not recommended. Find another place who won't tell you use of products is a personal opinion. read more

Best salon experience I have ever had! From the moment I walked in, I loved that the salon felt more spa-like than salon/like. Jennifer asked questions & spent time understanding what I wanted. She did a fantastic job taking my jumbled description of what I was looking for and creating a an amazing color/cut combo. Jennifer also gave me a fantastic scalp massage and just the right amount of conversation. The products she used felt so great and smelled so fresh and botanical. I had not gotten my hair done since June of last year, almost 10 months. Booking was easy, email reminder was nice. I came in and showed Hanna the pictures of the style I wanted. We talked about cut and color and what would be best for my hair type. Then she went to work! Brooke in the neighboring chair heard me asking about pedicures in the area... and recommended a place in Raleigh. ** Foot Massage Spa, review to come on their page** super nice of her! Molly shampooed my hair and to my surprise I got a free hand parifan wax with my color service. Rosa was in the shop and heard me talking about my upcoming trip to New Orleans and recommended a place to try while I'm there. Hanna also included a conditioning treatment from driving 45 mins from Durham and it being my first visit. All in all I was very pleased with the people and the salon but there best thing is that my hair is perfect! I think I used that word 20+times when Hanna finished and she even took pictures for me. It took me 6 years of trying salon after salon in the triangle area to find Ron Carlos Salon. I've never looked back. I've seen them take in a teenager with frizzy damaged pink hair and send her out with gorgeous glossy Auburn hair. They definitely work miracles. I actually came in with severely damaged and disastrously colored hair by a local salon. It took ONE VISIT (unheard of) to correct my hair color and I've been going ever since. The atmosphere is awesome and the ladies there always make you feel welcome. They remember you and conversation picks back up where it left off before. Also, for anyone who has read the other review on here, emergencies happen and if you can't understand that, then it's your problem. Rosa is the one who corrected my God awful color mess and she was most likely sharing her ideas with the other stylist. She is very sure of herself and is an expert in color. If you walked out then you have no idea and your review is as invalid as your maturity. I highly recommend these ladies- if you're on the fence, go for it! read more

I came in wanting just a little bit of definition to my hair before my wedding without making any radicle changes. She knew exactly what to do and my hair looks amazing! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! This salon doesn't even rate a star. I booked an appointment for a Tuesday, went in at my scheduled time and when I arrived the stylist I was scheduled to have wasn't even there. I was told that she had an emergency with one of her kids but they had failed to call and let me know. I was extremely upset because I had taken the afternoon off to pamper myself and I had plan on going across the street to get my nails done afterward. I was so excited to finally have "ME" time. The girl at the front desk called the owner and she said they could get me in the next day and that she would do my hair personally. I came in the next day and Rosa, the owner had no clue of what she was doing. She had to ask the other stylist about color combinations and I felt so uncomfortable with their knowledge on hair that I got got up and left. I will not mention names, but best of luck to you if you like dimensional highlights and lowlights in your blonde hair. I am new to the area. I went here for my second time. The first was some basic highlights and all seemed well, but I went this time for some dimensional highlights with a realistic inspirational pic in hand that has been done with my hair in the past from a former experienced stylist/colorist, but my only wish was lighter blondes this time. The stylist was not able to meet the challenge or come close, but was very nice. I came back the next day at their request to have it corrected per manager help, I think? It was even worse. I got some advice from my former hairdresser out of state on how to correct the color before returning the second time, but no one would listen to me. I am giving one star only because they gave it an effort, but not a 100% effort to correct it like I tried to express and ignored my wishes. I feel they are inexperienced with color. Beware if you are looking for an experienced colorist. If it's simple highlights, you may be ok? I did request a refund for the first time in my life because I have to go somewhere else to correct the color, but the owner responded with a no refund policy. Beware! When a customer spends good money on their hair. They expect to be happy with it. It was an easy doable hair color that an experienced colorist could have easily done, unfortunately. read more

I tried so hard to convince myself to love my haircut. I just couldn't get over how uneven my hair is. I did ask for layers but the initial bottom layer should be even. It's not. There are sections in my hair where it's long and other sections where it's short and it just doesn't make sense. Other sections were clearly cut at an angle and just strange. I had a section that was completely missed and was never cut so it was about 4-5 inches longer than the rest of my hair. I had to cut that myself. I didn't notice it that day because she styled my hair after the cut. Overall the ladies that day were courteous and the atmosphere was okay. I don't plan on going back to get these issues fix because I don't think it will get fixed correctly. I will be going elsewhere to get it fixed. The hair dresser that cut my hair is newer to the salon but I'm not sure if she is new to the industry and don't want to blast her name. I'm giving two stars because of the good customer service. read more

I went here and Brooke did my hair. She did a good job she took her tine and is very patient. Just watch out they are not clear about their cancelation policy. I did not give a 24 hour notice and was told I would be charged 50% of my services before I can book another appointment. This was NEVER told to me. I see they posted on Facebook but I had never been on their Facebook before today. I will not go back to them based on this. I had some other things that I found irritating and this is the last thing. read more
