The stylists here are so friendly and awesome. I usually cut my own hair, but at some point you need someone else to do it for you. I have had family members, friends, etc., and honest to goodness, nobody could cut evenly. Anyway, I booked my hair cutting experience with Brooke, and she did a fantastic job. My mom can't even type this review she's so upset. She came here to get her hair cut (that's passed her butt might I add) and she asked the lady who was cutting her hair, Susan, if she would cut only 6-8 inches and she cut it to shorter than the middle of her back. Maybe about 14 inches. Her hair after the cut was suppose to be at her hips, and now it's to her bra. She told her about 4 times how much she wanted cut off and that she still wanted her long length. She clearly did not listen at all, and did not do what my mom asked her to do at all. I would not recommend. read more

I'm insanely confused by the rave reviews. I scheduled my appointment several days prior, but when I arrived only a few minutes early, my stylist was in the middle of foiling a highlight he had "squeezed in" that morning. I waited for almost 15 minutes while he finished. We then discussed what I wanted to do, which was take off several inches of my longer hair and do some extensive thinning to take the bulk out of my ends. I have very thick hair and know that it takes time even to do a trim properly. Which is why I booked a full haircut appointment. He then proceeded to cut my hair DRY. Um...what? It was obvious that he was completely rushing me because he had the color appointment under the heater processing. The entire "haircut" took about 20 minutes. He barely trimmed into my ends to thin them so they look like a blunt cut chop job. And after really looking at it when I got home (because I wasn't even shown the back of my hair at the salon) it is obvious that my cut is completely uneven. Seriously, random longer chunks all over the place. And one side up front is longer than the other. And the rude comments about me having dry shampoo in my hair...I'm sorry, I thought for the insane price of $50 for a haircut that I'd be getting a shampoo and a full hour of time. Next time I'll make sure I wash my own hair before coming in. Oh wait, you couldn't pay me to go back to this place. I'll be having my husband even up the hack job in the back for me tonight so I can look halfway decent until I can go to a real hair stylist. I at least expect to get the time that I booked and paid for. Like honestly, I was so surprised and confused when he started to take the cape off like we were done. I couldn't believe that was all the time he was going to spend on it. Don't pretend that this place is even remotely worth the price. I could've gone to Super Cuts and gotten better service and a better cut. Thank the high heavens I didn't ask for a REAL style. My simple trim was clearly too much to handle. UPDATE: The owner did contact me and offered to fix my hair herself or refund my money. While my experience was what it was, I greatly appreciate the customer service and that they really seem to care about their clients and the services they offer. read more

DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE RACIST! I am black and my mother scheduled an appointment for my sister (adopted and white). We went up to the windows and each person in there looked at us and didn't move an inch. They saw my mother outside waiting for her appointment and left her there. Until about 5 minutes until they opened the door halfway as if we were gonna rob her, and said we were half an hour late. We were not. They then didn't even try to confirm a second appointment. No smiles, no thank yous, no mannerisms. Ugly. read more

LINDSAY CLEMONS - these two words are why I'm happy to drive from Chapel Hill to Knightdale to get my hair done by a talented, reliable, friendly pro. (And by the way - it's only a 40-minute straight shot down 40 to 540 with no parking fees when you get there.) I first met Lindsay in Chapel Hill where I sought her out based on her Yelp reviews there. She is awesome. She's young, great to talk to and very professional. She also cuts a mean head of hair! I had decided to go with my natural curls after years of straight ironing, round brushing, etc. Lindsay was enthusiastic and supportive. She is comfortable working with any type of hair. She's great at translating my vague, fuzzy descriptions of what's in my head into exactly what I had in mind. She's also great at listening carefully to when I know exactly what I want done ("Cut the bangs at THIS angle") and doing it. When I bring in a picture, she can tell me how close I can get to it given my specific hair. She's very particular about the products she uses, and my dyed hair is soft and shiny. It's also cut to perfection and I feel chic and confident. In short, I can't say enough about this talented young woman. Her prices are very reasonable, and she's always a delight to be around. I look forward to each appointment! The Hair Junction has been around for a long time, and it wasn't designed for hipsters. It's a fun place to hang out, and as real as the local post office. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! Every person I have told and showed them my experience said I should not have paid. PROM HAIR nightmare. Was beyond horrible. Had to run around and go to TWO other places when I left to get the mess fixed! Just about destroyed PROM. Plus, cost me so much $!! Ended up having to pay $200.00!! I am a single mom on a budget and this was really hard for me- but I had NO choice. So glad I kept the messages about scheduling-- first, when I touched base day before- I confirmed a 9am appointment for two and the stylist said she thought it was 2:30pm!! I had the messages to confirm it was 9am! Then, when we arrived- fresh and clean hair and ready-- she was still working on another person and we had to wait. Showed her pictures of what we wanted and the end result was a freaking ugly mess. So much crap in their hair. Both girls CRYING. I am crying over the wasted money!!! Trying to figure out how to get the mess fixed on a Saturday just hours before prom!!! Had to go to TWO other places-- first place could fix the mess of the one girl's hair and the second place finally could fix the mess of the second girl's hair. She looked like a CONE HEAD. Everyone who looked at the mess they were-- total shock and that I had to pay for the fiasco!!! WAS NOT CHEAP! So, $200.00 later---- and TWO STOPS after we left- finally had something passable!!!! What should have been a good and happy experience was totally horrible!! We were stressed out of our minds and ready to just cancel prom. Will not recommend and people keep asking me where did you go to pay for such a horrific MESS!!!! No words to described the MESS!!! We left our house at 8:30am in the morning and walked back in the door at 3:30pm-- all do to HAIR! Girls had 15 minutes to get READY because of this ORDEAL. UPDATE-- I did get a text from the stylist and I have saved all the text messages. She said she was sorry and then basically blamed me for the bad job. The stylist is supposed to be the professional and if she can't do a style or think it will not work correct w/ clients hair- it is up to the stylist express such info! My daughter's hair was falling apart before we left and was messy and the braid was fat and bumpy and a horrible mess. The stylist then offered me a refund that I would have gladly accepted - but she said the MANAGER told her no. I finally had to BLOCK her number from TEXT messaging me. I do have all the messages. We did not complain at the time because we just wanted out of there and we were way behind schedule and we are NOT the type of people to complain. However, as we got outside and looked at the mess that was made of their hair and realized they could NOT go to prom that way- and had to scramble to find TWO other people who would work on that mess- - and when they commented it was horrendous and we should not have to pay for such a disaster-- and it was not just us being picky-- it was truly a horrendous disaster and ridiculous. How I have been treated today - completely horrible. By the stylist and by the manager. What happened to carrying about your customers or good customer service. These people made two girls cry and made us pay for it! Today, we are being treated unfairly and we are undeserving of this treatment. We went on good faith! To continue to be treated so unprofessionally is insane. To even have the MANAGER continue this poor treatment-- mind boggling. I will share my story on every portal open to me. Pretty bad when you even have to BLOCK the stylist's number! I will keep this story updated if anything else continues to happen. read more

I got the most horrendous haircut ever from this place. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. The hair dresser absolutely butchered my hair. The cut is uneven, two to three inches or more shorter than I wanted, and looks awful. All I asked for was a trim, and this woman easily set my hair back at least 6 months in order to grow it back to the length when I walked in the door. She also did a terrible job styling it and she cut all of it off into a uneven mess and it quite literally was matted and sticky when I walked out the door. It quite literally is the worst cut and style I have ever had. Not to mention that she took a five minute phone call while I was in the chair from her daughter. It wasn't an emergency- couldn't it have just waited? Absolutely awful place. I will never go back here nor would I ever recommend it to anyone else. read more

Long time client. The salon is outdated. No current hair styling books. Old stations. Limited products to purchase and no where to sit while waiting for your appointment which makes it very uncomfortable. As a business owner myself, not understanding why the salon is not renovated. The new cameras are absurd and a little too dusty for my taste. Will find a new salon. read more
