Brides, DO NOT BOOK THIS SERVICE. PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS. This is probably the WORST experience EVER and the most stressful vendor we have dealt with. Not only they made my Mother-in-law's trial look absolutely horrible. The entire trial process is lack of communication. This make up artist didn't communicate about she's about to do or what's going to look like at all during the trial. She just simply does what she knows to do. And surprise you with a result you don't want. The entire experience is just a guessing game. You just sit there and pray that it is not too terrible. And any feedback I give all they did was trying to lower your expectations or gaslight you. The worst thing is that they send an email for "feedback" after the trial and I gave very detailed and feedback and asked questions. 3 days, I followed 2 times and zero responses until I had to text them asking for a response. And this is 1 week before the wedding day. The lack of communication and horrible service does not do the pricing justice. Worse than 1 star review. I have been going to Adena for 3 years now. She's always taken care of my hair, from back when I first sat in her chair with virgin hair to whenever I wanted to switch up to vibrant colors. She always listens to my wants and turns out incredible colors with my hair. She's also very transparent about the pricing for her services and the quality of her work is reflected in what she charges. I'm impressed everytime! I can't recommend her enough. Pinup studio is also such a welcoming salon. I've gone for updos, haircuts, blow outs, color services, and even tinsel!! Every stylist I've ever had was so kind and professional! Heard about this studio during a yelp event so I decided to check them out. The decor is welcoming. Love the chair and the colors, lovely ambiance. Kate and I went over my hair goals, she is easy to work with and friendly. I went in with partial highlights which were brassy and in need of help. I wanted go lighter as summer is around the corner but I always worry since I have dark hair and want to make sure my hair and skin tone don't clash. This review is long overdue. Adena and the rest of the team at Pinup is worth 10 stars - 5 stars just doesn't cut it. She did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and it was exactly how I envisioned it. At the end of the night, I didn't want to take down my hair or remove my makeup! And yes, it was still all perfectly intact - after more than 12 hours! They truly are the sweetest people - my bridal party was so blown away by their hair and makeup skills, and we all got so many compliments throughout the day. I look back on my photos now, and everyone looked absolutely stunning for my big day. I cannot recommend this studio enough, and I cannot thank them enough (especially Adena) for making me and my girls feel like superstars on my wedding day. I've been scouting Pin Up for a while and decided to try them out, as I was needing a new salon. I'm so glad I made an appointment because they did a great job, for a really great price. I got all over color, cut and an eyebrow wax for $150. Sydney was wonderful and really asked the right questions about what I wanted with my hair and look. It had been a while since I got my hair done and I felt welcomed and unjudged. Sydney took the time to inform me about the products she was using, but didn't try to oversell me on things I needed, which I appreciated. All the other staff members were really kind and welcoming. On top of the great service, I loved the decor. They salon is so cute with a ton of Instagrammable spots. It's also easy to make an appointment online. I am so, so, so upset with how horrible the customer service is here. I messaged the salon to see if I could get a horrible "balayage" job fixed. I As a side note, I wasn't trying to get a free re-do. I knew it had been longer than their 7 day re-do policy, and I totally get that there are costs involved for the salon. I have been to this salon many times and knew some of them could do great work, so I just wanted some help scheduling to get this fixed with hopefully a more experienced stylist. But, the manger Alli was horrific. She argued with me, offered 20% glaze to fix it?! Are you kidding me? A glaze would not fix this at all. It needs to be completely re-done. The roots are uneven and crazy (not to mention the solid line instead of blend) and the top of my hair is over-processed while the bottom is not processed at all. Definitely not a balayage, and definitely the worst color I've ever had. She was rude, nasty, and unhelpful. The lack of concern for clients and how argumentative she was was wild to me, considering how many hundreds of dollars I've spent at this salon over the years. Attached are pictures of how it turned out versus what I asked for. I got a highlight, not the balayage I paid the premium for. I spent $250 on this less than ideal hair job and then met with awful customer service on top of that. I used to go to this salon all the time, and I will NEVER be back. Beware of the new stylists and the manager. They need to grow up. So disappointed. read more

This place is so magical during Christmas time!! I wasn't in the holiday spirit but I was after my haircut and style. Katie is phenomenal!! She explained the whole process and made sure I was happy every step of the way. I have long hair and she made sure to give me layers and trim only what was needed off. She even took some pictures for me. I was offered a complimentary drink which was amazing!! You couldn't help but smile in the winter wonderland. At the end they even gave me a little Christmas gift. Ive had some horrible, traumatic haircuts in my life, and as a result I always used to hate going to the hair salon. I happened to find Pinup Studio a few years ago, and I'm so happy I did. This fear is now gone! I've had haircuts by both Adena and Sydney, and they both do a wonderful job! Talented stylist 5 stars but the salon itself is 3 stars- hence 4 star review. Woman owned (awesome) cute decor but horrible sitting/chairs with terrible sink in front of chair. It's like you have this cute decor and dumpy experience in the chair. Really wish the stylist would move as the price $450+ -and talent she should be in a 5 star salon where you feel as amazing sitting in the chair as you do in your hair end result. I have been looking for a stylist who can work with fine AND thinning hair. I searched a FB group I belong to and found a thread recommending salons. One salon mentioned was the Pinup Studio. The website has an inquiry form that asks several quesions e.g. what are your hair goals and inspirations. You can upload photos of your current hair style and cuts you like. You can get an estimate of how much it will cost you. A new experience for me. I sent my inquiry Sunday night and heard back Monday morning. Alli, the office manager, responded with a stylist suggestion and an appt. time. Alli suggested BRENDA and I'm so glad she did! I don't have great styling skills and wanted something that would look good with no effort. Brenda cut my hair dry so I could see how it would look with no effort. it looked good. She then proceeded to wash my hair and blow dry it. It looked even better. Brenda didn't push products on me. She made sure I liked the length before she took too much off. We were a team. And the price was very reasonable. I am very happy with Brenda and the Pinup Studio. read more

Let me tell y'all something about this salon and the owner Mrs Christina. She's always building up all the women that come to work for-or rather with her. To a degree I'm not sure I've ever seen done before in any industry & maaan is that refreshing! So lemmie go ahead toot toot her humble horn for her for a quick second haha. I went to school at Paul Mitchell with her back in 2010 ok so that makes her truly seasoned just like all the best things are right? I woulda though that firey girls passion for hair would peak & level out at some point like we tend to do but I've seen nothing but more passion, more drive, more PINK, from her throughout the years. She is the definition of the kind of boss that coulda kept me in the industry & regardless of if you a day to day babe or a bride booking the bus I know she has cultivated an environment that has truly stoked peoples passions & has them happy to be there & do hair or whatever the service you need may be. I don't even live in NC anymore I just get to follow the journey on insta from Hawaii & trust me it takes a lot to make me be like well damn I'd almost go back for that kinda service. I feel like I just flushed $276 dollars down the drain and hope that others do not have this experience. I received a Brazilian Blowout from Kierra this past Tuesday ($200 for blowout, $40 for trim and $36 for tip) and am incredibly disappointed by the results. When I left the appointment everything seemed perfect, I was happy with the environment of the salon and my hair felt soft and straight. However, the problem came when I washed my hair and certain chunks frizzed up like there never had been any solution put on them while other chunks were straight. As I had my eyes closed the majority of the time to protect against the fumes, I have no idea what went wrong. I have never experienced this overall inconsistency in results with the other Brazilian blowouts I received in the past and am so disappointed. While, I really did like the environment/people of the salon when it comes down to it I just want a good job and therefore would advise against others getting a Brazilian blowout here. Update: The owner reached out to me and was absolutely lovely. Completely understanding of the disappointment I felt and was willing to fit me in her schedule ASAP to redo the Brazilian blow out. Unfortunately, I am moving and do not have time, but she did refund me half of the cost and took the constructive feedback very kindly. This is a place that really cares about the end product and is willing to go above and beyond to ensure the customer is satisfied with what they received. I truly appreciate her prompt response and compassionate attitude. My updated rating reflects this. read more

I moved to Greensboro last summer and have traveled back to Pinup because they are that good, warm, and welcoming. I highly recommend this studio. I gave this salon a try twice. The first time I went in for an eyebrow wax, Katie applied the wax without any success and proceded to pluck some of my eyebrows. I thought she did a good job until I went home and saw that she hardly removed anything (about 20% of the hair, did not clean or shaped the brow) and I had to go threading the next day to fix it. I also tried a haircut with Katie again. She spend less than 3 minutes cutting the hair and then left the hair about 30% wet with dripping ends and rushing us out. No style, no flatiron, nothing. I paid $50 for the worse hair cut ever. Disappointed. The salon is very cute, unfortunately the services are sub-par. read more
