Our tour guide, Luis, was so amazing, and he was so knowledgeable!! We learned so much about the rum, how it's made, and the history. The property was beautiful and the rum was delicious. With the tour, you get a drink token and are able to order a drink from the bar. I literally had the best rum mule I've ever had in my life! My husband ordered an old-fashioned and he said it was probably one of the best he's ever had as well. The tour was so relaxing and the vibe was so chill. They offer several different rums. A 2-star, a 3-star, a 4-star, and a 5-star. They were all great. I noticed the pricing isn't bad for the 2- and 3-star, but when you get to the 4- and 5-star, it jumps quite drastically. We took an Uber to the Distillery in Bayamon to do an Heritage Tour $45 p/p about half an hour explaining all its history, the home where founder lived, original furniture, grounds, manufacturing, storage. This is a place worth visiting and an experience that's recommended (by me) over bacardi or any of the other tourist populated distillery and mixology tours. We booked the cocktail class + heritage tour online. There's parking at the property, easy access, and restrooms. Upon checking in, you can redeem your complimentary cocktail and take it on the distillery tour with you in take out mugs. The tour guides are so passionate and adorable, they give you a tour of the home, hacienda, and barrel room/distillery. Then during the cocktail tour, you make 3 drinks all made with their RDB rum. This was our first time doing a rum distillery and I'm happy that this was the first one we tried. This place was packed with family history and one of the oldest rum distillery in the area. The tour was in-depth and we even got to taste one of their oldest casks. Unfortunately we had to rush our experience here since I booked for one at Bacardi right after this one. There is one place that people going to Puerto Rico should skip and one they should visit. Instead of throwing more money at a conglomerate like Bacardi, why not enjoy something authentic, real and truly local? The best thing about the distillery is that it's more than just a visit to the cellars. There is a beautiful house tour in which owners used to live. There is the beautiful story about how the founder used to walk around with a tiny barrel pouring rum for his guests. There is an old tower. And of course, a nice visitor center with a bar. With all that said, the rum is absolutely amazing. Balanced without being overly sweet. People are very kind. All the staff from the greater, to the bartender, our tour guide (Jimmy), and everyone working the gift shop were all awesome and super friendly. I came here for a mixology class but we were late so we switched it to a rum tasting which was great. The tour was amazing first we started with a history of the rum and we walked the grounds. This included the house and the different area where the barrels were kept. The different types of barrel were explained as well. Then we went inside to taste the rum. Fun and fantastic distillery tour in San Juan! We had a very informative walk about from Timmy and enjoyed learning the history of this rum distillery. He was also extremely willing to answer all of our questions. After the tour, we completed a tasting of rum aged for various times, corresponding with the number of stars that they put on the bottle - ranging from two stars to five stars. All had a different nuanced flavor and were enjoyable to try! When the tour and tasting is complete, you're welcome to make purchases in the on-site shop or move on to the bar where you can use your token for an included beverage. The bartenders could not be better at making a variety of drinks and also giving recommendations based on your taste preferences. The Ron Barrilito distillery VISITOR Center. It's the best venue in Puerto Rico. They have about 50 signature drinks that are made professionally with their own. Rum is without a doubt the best Bar in Puerto Rico the staff is very welcoming. It's a large place many tables big bar, mini bartenders all professionally trained in uniforms. Their signature drinks are fantastic is head and shoulders above any other bar in Puerto Rico the drinks are not $20. They're not $25. The drinks are like $14 and they're the best drinks you can buy if you're going out to have a drink. This is the place to go. They have a special Uber shop so you can get an Uber back-and-forth very convenient. They have tours of the distillery tours of the mansion and they have a laboratory where you can make three up to three drinks, their professional mixologist there to teach you how to make the drinks they have all the ingredients and then you get to drink your own drinks. It's a fantastic place all in all it's 10 times better than going to Bacardi because Bacardi is just big in commercial. This is small intimate a family run distillery that still turns out delicious Puerto Rican rum that distributed by Gallo all over the world. read more

When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and given a buzzer and our cocktail tokens to wait for our tour to begin. We chose to wait to have our included cocktail after the tour. Ron del Barrilito is such an underrated rum tour. It's the oldest in Puerto Rico and was family owned until very recently. My friends and I did a heritage tour which came with a welcome drink. Our tour guide was super friendly and because it's a small, mom and pop distillery the tour felt very intimate. You could also choose from a variety of different rum based drinks for your welcome drink, which I preferred unlike the other well-known rum factory tours that give pina coladas to everyone. My drink was pretty strong despite it being free which I loved. After the tour, my friends and I decided to stay at the bar and have a couple more drinks.
