In love with this place! I came in for a blow out at first, which made my day. My hair smelled amazing for days! Andrew treated me like a queen and my hair looked flawless. I ended up coming back because as I was leaving the girl checking out had just put extensions in and let me tell you guys this is a game changer! The weaves are so minimal you can't even feel them (or see them). My hair is full and bouncy and I feel like a new person. Cool, comfortable, upscale salon where you feel like the most important person in the place. They offered me a terrific selection of beverages when I arrived and an ultra relaxing experience from there. I have a difficult natural hair color to duplicate (strawberry blonde) but Pablo nailed it. He used the Goldwell hair color--seriously the best color we've tried as it looks like my natural hair color minus all the gray! A great experience for a reasonable cost. So it went something like this....I booked a cut and color. After my color he started styling my hair. Wait I say what about my cut (it had been months I seriously needed a cut). You didn't book a cut he says. Um...I am pretty sure I booked a cut and color. (annoyed) Well I guess I can do a little trim. No, I kind of need an actual cut do you not have time? No he says I don't have time and you should book with a cutter anyways. When I'm done I go to pay and ask what services I booked. A cut and color..why? Oh because Mr Colorist said I only booked a color. The guy looks at me mortified. Anyways, I book a time to come back for a cut - only because I fully expected them to make up for treating me like #$%! and wasting my time. I go back for my cut and no one even apologizes. Its unfortunate because I think they have the talent - just completely lacking in customer service. Great interior of the salon, great atmosphere but high turn over. I live in the building and really would like to come down for their services but each time I go in a new person is there and no one I've seen is still there. That is not a good sign to me as to what might be going on in the business. I realize that with any business there is turn over but it seems a little high. The staff there is very nice and friendly. I also like that they will offer you a drink or you can order food from the Four Seasons, that never sucks. The quality of work is good for the people I have seen but I would really like to see the same person/people each time I go. read more

I was referred to Kati M., and SHE IS AMAZING. I'll start at the beginning: The salon is gorgeous, and I was invited to don a comfy silk robe over my clothes before things got started. For the first time ever, my neck was comfortable while Kati was washing my hair - they have awesome seats and the neck-holder thing is super padded and comfy. Kati proceeded to give me the best head massage ever, and she combed my hair out right there in the sink, eliminating the chance for tangles to form and saving me from a soaking wet back (my hair is super thick and normally can soak through my cape/towel/whatever's on my back). I went in for a simple trim, and Kati was careful not to take too much off the length. She was very skilled and worked a miracle on my bangs, which are in awful-growing-out mode and the bane of my existence. My favorite part is that she really took her time with things. Most stylists rush through blowdrying and styling my hair, because it's super thick and takes forever to wrangle. Not Katie: she gave me the best blowout ever and then curled it. So I have been a client of Greg Sullivan at Bo Salon for a while now and now that their new salon is open I had to come check it out! Parked in the garage at the Four Seasons Residences and they VALIDATE your ticket so its FREE! Walked in the new salon and WOW... It's very different from Bo but definetly unlike anything in Austin... They have a color bar where they put your color on and a big tv to tell you about the new haircolor they use INOA. I even got french pressed coffee while I had my services done. They do offer food from the 4 Seasons restaurant but I didn't order anything... Greg said they deliver it for you and you can eat it while you get your service done! My color looks great and my cut is awesome too! He even waxed my eyebrows and tinted my eyelashes for me! Ethan! Ethan! Ethan! What an amazing man. I have had bad experiences after bad experiences and then I found him. I wanted my hair to be long with curls and when I went to other salons they kept offering my hair extensions that were individual pieces from the ones that loop in your hair to the ones that have tape. I had such horrible experiences and always had to straighten my hair because I was told that my extensions that were out in would be wavy. Guess what?! they weren't! When I found Ethan, he assured me he could have mine made with the exact type of curl that I had! And wow! While I have been growing my hair out, I have been wearing below the shoulder and midway down my back curly extensions. It's in weft style and is the easiest most simplest thing. I style it as usual. I don't have to worry about conditioner sliding my tape ins out. Or having to straighten everyday. I wear it super natural. No one can believe I have extensions when I tell them because it looks so incredibly natural and it's getting super healthy. I was having a horrible time trying to find someone who could give me blonde and coming out of Orlando Florida you can only imagine the bad hair experiences I had. Yikes! Florida hair. Ethan has helped me get back on track and have long beautiful luxurious curls like I use to have. He is always willing to work me in when ever I can make it and I couldn't be more thankful with my crazy schedule. While I am in the salon, they always have a French press ready for me and Ethan is also a great piece of eye candy to look at as well. :) His personality also adds the flair you are looking for in a stylist. Ron King is the top salon in Austin in my opinion. Thanks to my persistent gray roots :) I have been to many salons, and this one has it all. From the first impression of the salon by phone with Brad who is so courteous and professional, to my superior service by Kati, the salon has it all covered. While the salon itself is beautifully designed with careful thought to the needs of its stylist and customers alike, the best thing about Ron King is truly its staff. Brad - I cannot say enough wonderful things about him. He is always upbeat and friendly and makes me feel so welcome every time I call or enter the salon. While Ron King certainly has the opportunity to be a snobby elite salon, Brad delivers true style and class in a way that you feel special and even want to hang out with him outside of the salon. Kati - She is a master of her craft. She listened carefully to my wants and needs and delivered them flawlessly. In the past at other salons, I would leave my appointment with the need to rush home to fix things that were less than satisfactory in my hair style (hair color on my skin and ears and restyle it to what I really wanted). With Kati, I leave Ron King with the perfect hair and ready to hit the town. Not only did they do the best job of a blow-waive and make up application that I have ever had but they also were some of the kindest, most genuine and caring people I have ever met. Ive been getting my hair done by Jose for years. I have curly hair that used to be a rats nest but now my family tells me my curls look like they did when I was a kid, before the years of coloring. Jose really cares about his clients. My favorite is when he greets me with "Girl you are about to live your best life" because I know hes been coming up with ideas on what treatments would be best for my hair. I feel bad giving this salon a bad review because it looked so promising, and I've read such good reviews about it. It did have a great ambiance. All else was meh. I went in with a Livingsocial (or was it Groupon?) voucher for a deep condition, blowdry and style appointment. When I arrived, I was introduced to my stylist and he took me back to the first seating area to look at my hair. My hair is naturally curly and naturally gray. He ran his fingers through my hair and then asked "Are we doing a color and cut today?". Dude! I agree I *could* color my hair, but are you telling your client that (1) she should cover her grays, and (2) you have no clue what she is there for? The rest of the appointment went normally - I got shampooed and blow dried. And I left with my hair looking nice. The only thing is that it looked pretty much the same as after I get my $25 style at the local blow bar. Not inclined to return to Ron King again. read more

I knew I wanted a color service and invisitab extensions so decided to give this salon a try. My appointment started on time. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the salon as well as professionalism of the entire staff. Their stylist Jospeh did a full bayalage. He did exactly what I asked him to do and politely answered all of my questions throughout the process. Extremely Overpriced. I've been getting partial highlights and a cut for $90 for 2 years. I come here and get partial highlights (nothing different from what I had been getting at $90 place) and it was $430. I was quoted at around $220ish (still overpriced but I was willing to work with it). I didn't see the owner or the top dog just their middle of the road colorist. Sure they offered fancy water and it was a fancy place but when you're giving the same results as a $90 cut and color it's absolutely ridiculous to charge $430. I will absolutely never go back with prices like that. read more

I've always enjoyed Ron Kings salon. All of the stylists are fantastic, conversational and GREAT at what they do. I've only complained about a haircut once and they fixed it well after closing. Ron is always present and inviting. I stopped by and was quite sweaty and stressed out. He was quick to grab a glass of water for me and asked me to grab a seat. My stylist was in a class and I didn't mind waiting around considering I was a walk in. HOWEVER, when she came in, she was ready to GO. She grabbed the bare necessities and grabbed things as she went when she got acquainted with my thick, coarse hair rather quickly. Her technique was quite unique, expeditious and impressive. I couldn't help but remark every time she did something I hadn't seen before. She understood quite quickly how I wanted my hair cut as it is quite particular. I'm also not quite good at explaining how I want. I felt like I got the best undercut I've EVER had. She was quite excellent with clippers. All in all, this place is quite reliable. You get exactly what you pay for. I left out a star because I love a hot towel on my face while I'm getting shampooed and they don't have it. Also, I appreciate champagne and/or prosecco. They only have wine, the stylist told me so quite matter of fact. I'm also quite spoiled so, there ya have it. read more

He has been taking care of me and my hair for almost 4 years and he has my hair looking better and healthier than it ever has! I have really long, blonde, naturally curly hair which requires a lot of love to look healthy and smooth. Not only does he give the world's best blowout, he has perfected the art of balayage! Eddie is beyond talented and I consider him a true artist because he is so passionate about his work and is truly a master of his art. And even more, I adore Mikel Ramos, who saved my hair from ruin: literally, when I first met him, it had been so damaged by salon and at-home color and my attempts to fix it that it had ended up pale green and peach, as brittle as fiberglass. One visit later, people were stopping me on the street to compliment me on how silky and beautifully colored it was, no exaggeration! (I was handed two telephone numbers that afternoon, too, which was fun.) I now have trusted him to take me everywhere, from crazy fashion colors like purple and hot pink to my current "Oh, my hair just magically happens to be perfectly sunkissed and J.Lo-esque" natural-looking bronde with dark roots. No matter what the shade, Mikel is a trained painter who is a master at color theory and loves blending different shades into a nuanced, artistic composition. My wife and I have been going to Ron King for a little over a year and we both agree it's the best salon we've ever patronized. First off, the place is gorgeous. *Luxurious* is probably the best way to describe it. The marble tiles, high-end modern art, and blown glass lighting fixtures can be a little intimidating for some. Heck, the place is located AT the brand new Four Seasons residential tower. But the staff is very friendly and quick to make you feel comfortable. I get my hair cut every 5-6 weeks by male specialist, Carlos. I never realized until visiting him that every haircut I've had prior was basically nothing more than a service to keep my hair from getting too long. When I get my hair cut at Ron King by Carlos, I actually feel like my hair is re-shaped and improved to match my personal sense of style. They even offer free "dry cuts" every 2 weeks between haircuts to keep things clean and sharp. "Ron King" isn't just the name on the sign, I see Ron inside almost every time I come in. He's not just managing his staff, he's an active stylist for clients. My wife gets extensions from Mr. King himself. From what I understand, Ron had a hand in the proprietary extensions they use that involve a surgical glue application. My wife ALWAYS receives compliments on her hair and people are shocked to find out she even has extensions at all. Prices are relatively high compared to something like Visible Changes, but VERY reasonable for the caliber of professionalism and skill you'll receive. You get what you pay for and you'll be very, very happy with what you get. read more

This salon is one of the few that has L'Orear in Austin and has always a great wine by the glass! I'm coloring my hair since I'm 15, with L'Oreal and had the same hair stylist in Europe since then, back home....it was a big step to go to a new salon and esp. a new hair stylist... ...but Carla, who's with the salon for several years now, made me feel comfortable, she's trustworthy and very professional...and lovely!!
