I like to visit Murphys around St Patrick's day. They typically have something special going on. Sunday was a bit more tame than Saturday. In the speakeasy, They had a tattoo artist doing shamrocks for people They had their special Irish menu this weekend. The dishes people had around me looked amazing. Strong recommendation on Irish burger from person next to me. While I looked at the menu, I had my first green beer! Monica and Nick were bartending, both are exceptional. I finally went with the corned beef and Swiss on rye. It had an huge helping of corned beef, I could only eat half the sandwich. The corned beef was moist, no condiments needed. If I could provide negative stars I would. We typically enjoy local food and never have had issues with ordering carry out locally until we came across both Murphy's pub house and craft house. There have been multiple times over the course of the last several months that we've had ordering issues with both for carry out, as well as a horrible experience at the craft house. Most recently, we've tried ordering carry out from the pub house and have not been successful any time. We understand the kitchen closes an hour before the restaurant closes and have ordered well before this time frame. It seems like the online ordering may shut down 3 hours before the kitchen closes, which is what we experienced tonight. The cherry on top was calling in to place our carry out order at 915pm (kitchen closes at 11pm tonight) - someone answered (and we were like "yay!") but then were put on hold, waited for 15 min and tried to call back for the next hour and 15 min and no one answered no matter what option we selected. So what I've been able to deduce from these multiple experiences is Murphy's doesn't like carry out traffic and isn't willing to take money from local fans. It's one thing if your website says "ordering stops at 7pm" - we'd order prior to 7pm. But when it says "kitchen closes 1 hour before closing" and nothing else about carry out, no warning while preparing our order that we wouldn't be able to place the order (like other local establishments provide) or employees who could answer the phone and easily say what the actual rules are - like "I know it says online the kitchen closes 1 hour before closing but we actually stop taking carryout orders 3 hours before the kitchen closes" - then we'd be informed and be able to operate in a manner where we understand what the boundaries are. I've had business dealings with this business and it's not surprising they are as or more disorganized on the customer side as they are on the actual business side. I reached out to the owner tonight and received no response. I hope this review helps take business away from Murphy's pub house. Since we aren't allowed to give them our business, maybe no one should. read more

Stopped in for lunch after bringing a family friend back to town. The place was clean and had a great setup with booths and TV's. I server was very nice and polite! I ordered the half sandwich and soup and so did my Dad. The Velvet Chicken soup was really good and the sandwich was fresh and tasty! Our friend got the Reuben and Fries and said it was really good! I recently moved to the area and was looking forward to trying this establishment. Went there yesterday with a friend who helped me move my stuff from NJ to Indiana. We specifically asked to be seated in the dining area. The hostess told us they had a 20 minute wait but encouraged us to go to the lounge. We waited there for 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. After we left one of the bartenders came after us and tried explaining that they didn't serve food in the lounge except the bar. Would have been nice to know before. But really, at 6 pm on a Friday afternoon - after a long day's work, I was not in the mood. I am not going back. The newly opened Barstoner Lounge inside Murphys is a beautiful Speak Easy experience that was decorated gorgeous with every detail of seating, tables and the gorgeous walls designed with very eccentric fabrics. The bathroom blew me away by the decor and the photo of Marilyn to love she's an absolute knockout! We enjoyed the service as we were politely asked how our experience was going. This is a relaxing atmosphere as I met up with a friend and had no distractions with the comfort and sounds of this lounge! Here for lunch. Service was very friendly and efficient as we sat at the bar. My wife just had a soup of the ay which was a chicken velvet, or something like that. Anyway, it was very very very salty, so most was left behind. I had a cup of chili, which was good, but not great. We also shared a big soft pretzel which was the highlight. When it came to ordering a beer, virtually all choices on tap were ordinary national light beer brands or a few local IPAs. I wanted an Ale of any kind that wasn't an IPA and the bartender looked at me like I was speaking another language. I said, anything red or amber or brown of any kind. Nothing. This place has become one out favorites for evening meals and lunch during the week. Their burgers are excellent but my favorite is their fish 'n chips with a side wedge salad! In fact my wife and I split a meal and never walk away hungry. Their soup of the day is great as well, whatever they make that day. I will say we were quite disappointed I. Their Easter brunch. I dined here with an EXTREMELY large party of adults and children this past Sunday. What an AWESOME experience! When I say "large" party, we had at least 16 adults AND children with us. MAJOR kudos and props to our servers who put up with us. The food was good. Nothing really to write home about, a little greasy for a sandwich (I had the Turkey Gouda), but it was edible. I was thrilled that they have Angry Orchard on draft! It's not often I see that. My son enjoyed his grilled cheese very much (it's basically been his only meal at every restaurant lately, so he's a Grilled Cheese connoisseur). I took my mom and sister to lunch there because they have good food and its not too crowded during lunch time. However today the place was pretty packed. Granted that it was fathers day, so of course theres going to be more people around lunch. We walked in and they looked pretty understaffed. The poor hostess was doing everything she could to clear a table for us. It took us about 15 minutes for us to get a seat, which was okay because my mom and I were catching up so we didn't mind the wait. Eventually we were seated and we were spaced out following COVID social distancing guidelines. I ordered a bBoody Mary and for lunch I got some wings. My mom got a mimosa and the ham and cheese pretzel panini. It took a while for our food and drinks to come out but once again they looked understaff on top of it being Fathers day, so I understood the delay. Overall everything tasted good, the wings were meaty and baked (not slimy). I had recommended the pretzel panini to my mom and sister because i used to get that and it has been a favorite of mine since i first had Murphys. What an absolutely fantastic place to grab a bite. It has a lot of regulars you can tell, but as soon as you walk in you feel like you're one of them. The bartender calls you hon but it's not annoying. The menu is way better and way more diverse than what I expected for pub food. I actually saw a couple of ribeyes go out that looked fantastic. As we pulled into the parking lot of Murphy's Pubhouse there was plenty of parking with disabled parking available. After entering the establishment, It was clean and had a pleasant sent of yummy steak. The staff greeted us with a warm welcome and smile. There was plenty of seating in booths, tables, and seating at the bar. We had a reservation we were seated immediately. Our server was Shannon. She came right over to our table and gave us water. We ordered our drinks and they came out fast! Shannon was very attentive to all our needs, especially when we ordered our meals. We were told the portions were large, the dishes were indeed large!! While I've been off on a short stay-cation this week, I've committed myself to snagging at least one Yelp review daily. That is a legit way to spend your stay-cation, right? You're right. I probably need to get out more. But hey, until then Yelp reviews it is! Murphy's Pubhouse is the latest Stonebraker family establishment that includes Murphys at Flynn's at 52nd & Allisonville Road, Murphy's Pubhouse South, and Murphy's Crafthouse in Geist along with Stoney's Liquor. As a fun fact, the family, via a grandparent, also used to own the old Huddles Restaurants. While I'm a semi-regular at Murphy's at Flynn's, I'd actually never been to this spot before I set out today in search of a new place to review. Murphy's Pubhouse is located in a strip center that, while visible from the street, actually takes some intentional looking to really see. Accessibility is decent - there's a handful of accessible spots in the middle of the building, though Murphy's is probably 2-3 storefronts down. Curb cuts are fine. As you enter through the double-sided doorway, just a tad heavy, you wind your way into an area that on this visit said "seat yourself." They have a bar area, some outdoor dining, and a side toward the left that appears to have both a small stage and tables/booths. Unless I'm guessing poorly, I think Dave Matthews has been there as they carry his wine (Dream Tree) and there's a couple signed guitars and a huge poster. There were no ants marching, so that's good. I sat at a four-top, moved the chair myself. My server was over fairly quickly and I ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea while checking out the menu. The menu has the usual pub fair - steaks, sandwiches, entrees, pizza, wings, and a full bar. I contemplated the tenderloin, but actually just wanted a really good burger. So, hey. I ordered that with fries. Yes, I know it's weird to go out to a nice joint for a burger and fries. But, most of you reading this have met me. I'm kinda weird. Let's be honest. The atmosphere was, well, a bar. It was average in terms of sound and there were televisions playing sports. The crowd seemed to be mostly older folks, though the pub is family friendly. If there was one issue with the atmosphere, it was that I just thought it was a tad chilly inside. The burger? Very nice size and thickness, served medium well as ordered. If I'm going to pay ten bucks for a burger, I prefer that it actually last me more than a couple bites. This one did. The fries were also quite good - seasoned nicely. The service was fine throughout. I actually ended up with a couple refills of my iced tea. She was attentive. I will confess maybe a little too attentive - I was actively reading during my meal and at least once was truly interrupted. However, it wasn't jarring and overall I think the service was quite good but not quite to the "I'm dying to go back" point. I was able to linger long enough to do some decent reading - I always like that, especially on a day off when I truly have time to relax. This experience was a solid 4-star experience. It wasn't what I'd call flawless, but I'd easily go back and definitely thought the meal, at right around $13, was a solid value. The service was good to very good, while the atmosphere, even with a bit of a chill, was warm and comfy. My wife and I had an excellent visit to Murphy's. We have been to the south side location before, but now that we live up north, we wanted to try to fishers location. It was a great visit. The service was very quick and responsive. They had some great nightly food and drink specials. They have live music on saturdays. I ordered the tenderloin. It is always my go to at new restaurants. It was probably not the best I've ever had, but it was very good. The fries were great and had a good crispness to them, while not being overcooked. My wife ordered the wings, and thought they were good as well. They had some great dessert options, but neither of us left room to try them. Murphy's pub house is a hidden gem in Fishers! My husband and I just moved north and we have been looking for a great spot to eat close to home. We had heard about Murphy's PubHouse online but one day we got to meet the owner of the restaurant as he had purchased furniture off of us. He was very kind and encouraged us to visit the restaurant and today, we finally did. Wow... just wow. The food is amazingly delicious and the service was wonderful! We ordered the potato skins along with apple butter biscuits and cleaned our plates because they were so tasty. We didn't think we would have room for our entrées but once they came out we made room very quickly. Both my husband and I ordered the 12 ounce New York strip steak, he had french fries and I had mashed potatoes. So so good!! Both steaks were perfectly prepared and juicy! The sides were yum as well. Not great. The past few times we've gone here, we've left feeling underwhelmed and last night was no exception. First, it wasn't busy and the service was AWFUL. We were seated then waited 10 min before I had to ask someone to send over a waitress, which took another 5 min. The waitress was clearly new because she knew nothing about the menu. I asked what was in the featured drinks, didn't know. Asked what the rotating SunKing and Indiana City beers were, didn't know. Asked about one of the draft beers, i.e. what kind of beer it was, didn't know. She had to go to the bar 3 times to get answers before we even put in our drink order. Look, I get when someone's new - but she should be required to have all that info written down on a cheat sheet in her order book so a) it doesn't impact the customer experience; and b) she actually learns the menu. I ordered one of the specials "Bourbon Pineapple Pork Medallions." The salad came with it, and the iceburg was so drenched in water it was tough not to just taste water. Typically medallions are circular cuts of pork tenderloin... this was not. It was 2 pieces of buttered, fried pork tenderloin. Tasted pretty good, but was not at all what I thought I'd ordered (and definitely not as healthy.) The broccoli was under-steamed/too crunchy, and the potatoes lacked flavor. Finally, when we paid, I noticed while the specials said my entree was $17, they charged us $19. Not a huge deal/worth arguing over, just seemed shady. Next time we go to Murphy's, we'll go to the one on Fox Rd - the food and service have always been better there. read more
