We hadn't dined at Peterson's for a few years, so for my birthday dinner, we decided to go back to what used to be one of our usual spots. My husband proposed to me at Peterson's 18 years ago, so it holds a special place for us. Sadly, we doubt we'll be returning. The positives of our visit: - Tanner provided friendly service. - The day we dined was Wine Night, so it was half price for our bottle of Riesling. - Complimentary dessert; choice of three and I chose the small brownie, which was tasty. The not-so-positives: - The lobster bisque and wedge salad used to be two of my favorite menu items. They no longer taste or look the same and I was not a fan of either. The lobster bisque used to have at least a few large pieces of lobster; this time it was a few tiny minced pieces, at best. - The Alaskan king crab was most definitely not worthy of the $142 charge. At a fine dining establishment, I expect large crab legs with very few, if any, knuckles. This was not the case. I should've asked what the "market price" would be for this menu item because if I had, I likely would not have opted for it. - The bacon-wrapped shrimp, 12 oz filet with garlic butter, and the au gratin potatoes were decent. We still felt as though the quality just wasn't the same as what we were used to on our many prior visits (pre-COVID). This restaurant will not be returning to our list of local favorites, but I will still savor the good times we shared there in the past. read more

My first time visiting here on a slow early evening and I really enjoyed my visit. Our servers were attentive to our table. Their menu was a good size for a steakhouse. I only got a burger this time but it was very large. It was very good. I would return if I had the opportunity again. read more

We like coming here for the $24 Chophouse burger in the bar. It comes with fries and it is super juicy and delicious. You can also go to CostCo before you come here and get $100 gift cards for $79.99 so a free 20% off your meal. This place is always busy and the bar is always packed. Lots of people come here after work or do after work dinners. Service is always great and the food never disappoints. One day, I'll try something else on the menu, but for now the burger is the way to go. read more

What a great anniversary dinner place! 41 years now and this was a very nice place for our special dinner. We both had the chefs special for the night....grilled haddock with some special veggies on top. We also selected a shareable side of mashed potatoes which was more than we could finish. The food was prepared and plated very well. Our server was great. She was very familiar with the menu and guided us through selections very gracefully and thoroughly. Our portions were more than adequate and the flavors were outstanding! We topped the evening off with dessert special of the night which was a combination double fudge brownie type with hot fudge, Carmel and ice cream. We had gotten a gift card to use for Christmas/birthday so we went with friends. The service was over the top! Our server had timing down for food coming out and taking what we wanted next. The setting was like out of a moved everything was perfect. The lobster roll appetizer was mouth watering. The drinks were all really good we all tired 4 different ones. The dessert was Sundays ice cream that was a big win. The one down side that was kind of a bid deal was the food all had so much peper on it that it took away from the flavor of the stake and street corn . You could not actually taste how good the 8oz stake was. It was perfectly cooked but every bit was just hot pepper. For such a price meal I was just hoping to enjoy the stake more. read more

Hubs & I celebrated our anniversary here in early Oct '24. We dined at 6:30 on a Monday night, and the restaurant was not that busy. Our server Wendy was a delight. The atmosphere is old school steak house, white linen table cloths. Also for our anniversary, they came around and took a photos, which was then printed for us and came with a card signed by the staff. Cute. (And, it was a great pic!) We ordered: A "three broomsticks" (like an old fashioned) for the hubs, wine was half price so a bottle of brutacao for me (they seal and bag the leftovers to go, as I'm good for about a two glasses), and a crab cake appetizer to share. I had 4 oysters (also half price), I said chef pick so these were west coast. Entrees were the duck breast for me, and the dry aged rib eye with a side of au gratin potatoes for the hubs. Dessert was coffee and also their brownie a la mode, which they comped for our anniversary. Everything really was very delicious. Tender, flavorful, all that you would expect. Dinner came to $248, before gratuity. The wine norally $70, at half price was $35. My duck entree at $35 was very reasonable for a high-end restaurant. Half price oysters were $2 ea, also wonderful. The rib eye was pricey, $90. I thnk she said 20oz. It did not have the flash presentation of a giant bone-in tomahawk, but the concept was the same. We have been dining at Petersons for many years, it has been our local go-to, for all special occasions. It's a place I want to like, but that has become impossible. The last few times we dined there the wait staff was unprofessional, constantly interjecting while we were having private, quiet conversations. Not asking anything about the food or service but personally information. I'm not here to talk about your last trip to the beach, I'm trying to talk to my diner guest. Normal waitress behavior at the Waffle House, but not a a premium restaurant. That said, the food was always very good and coupled with the convenience of location kept us coming back. Well we went back this week on a weekday. Our waiter seemed new but he was very good, best we had for more than a year. I ordered their beef feature medium rare that was reportedly a ribeye "heart" served over mashed. It presented very well. This was either a sirloin or the worst quality ribeye I have ever eaten. Let's face it, other than over cooking a prime cut of beef it hard to ruin it. The steak was very tough and chewy so it's hard to believe it was anything close to a ribeye. I didn't complain at the restaurant because I didn't want to ruin the evening. But that was definitely my last visit to Petersons. I understand, years ago there was really no competition in Fishers in the higher end, restaurant market. Perhaps something else is going on, I just don't care at this point, we are moving on. Lots of good memories destroyed by a failing restaurant. The server was the only reason I didn't give it one star. read more

Peterson's is such an amazing restaurant that provides stellar service, exceptional food selections, private dining vibe with dedicated parking. We had a 6:45p reservation and was greeted with "Happy Anniversary" and immediately seated. We were in a private area that allowed us to enjoy our special night with minimal interruptions. Our service team was attentive, knowledgeable and prompt; with everyone who engaged us saying "Happy Anniversary!" It has been several years since we celebrated an anniversary at Peterson's (primarily due to distance) however they will now be considered one of our primary restaurants for special occasions. Petersons has truly failed me as a loyal customer. I am totally appalled at the management and owners reaction to a very disheartening approach that occurred January 172026 inside Petersons establishment. As I was winding down from an evening, that was very distressed losing a parent is very difficult and I was hoping to find some type of relaxation inside of Petersons on that evening however, it didn't go that way. as I was leaving a Petersons employee walks up to me and if she could pet me not only once but twice, and she proceeds to rub me up and down like I was some sort of animal. I was so appalled I was in the state of shock. I went to my car and I literally cried because I felt like my dignity as a man a black man being asked to be pet "was totally disrespectful defending and not to mention being touched inappropriately or should I say 0 petted "like a dog without permission is the battery It was done in front of other guest it made me feel belittled and mocked. I brought this to management's attention also the owner called and told me that they were sorry it happened and that they would get Susan better training, ,but that just didn't sit well me because it wasn't the owner who committed disheartening approach or battery.It was a Petersons employee and I never spoke with the employee or got a formal apology or anything from the Peterson's employee who did this I felt they were just covering it up and found it somewhat humorous The owner told me he couldn't control his employees and he didn't feel offering me a steak dinner was appropriate. I felt that was also another insult because I didn't come into looking for a free meal nor to be treated like an animal.. I'm totally totally appalled. I plan on talking to news media about very soon about awful representation of Peterson's My attorney has reached out to them about this and no one has responded back to what my attorney has demanded I did not want to go public about this , but since no one wants to take the responsibility or the accountability to see that they have totally violated a loyal customer ruined my enjoyment at this establishment and don't appreciate valued customers I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else and I won't want anyone else to be made to feel the way I felt on January 17, 2026 inside Petersons Restaurant I am not a pet I shouldn't have never been called a pet. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at this wonderful place, and we had a fantastic time! This place is absolutely stunning! The soft lighting creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the white tableclothed tables add a touch of elegance. Our waiter was simply amazing! He knew all the ins and outs of the menu, from the appetizers and the perfect wine selections. I hate that I can't remember his name, but when we go back, I'll be on the lookout for him This is a grown folks' experience, my friend. They have an age limit to who can dine here. Very unexpected! Prime Rib, side potatoes, and pasta were all top notch. I highly recommend if you haven't tried this or are visiting town and looking for a good streak dinner in a white table cloth setting. Staff was overly nice and they have a decent size bar for the solo traveler or date night dinner without reservations. I recommend reservations on the weekends or during peak holidays. 4 of us had dinner. Each had something different. Smoked meatloaf, duck, lobster pasta and schnitzel. Of all the meals schnitzel was over cooked and dry. The waiter noticed it was not being eaten, removed the plate offered additional food or whatever would make it better. Our friend said he didn't care for anything else. Nothing more was said. Dessert was vanilla cream brûlée. I ordered it hard. The waiter noticed it was not hard and took it back to have it hardened and It came back perfectly prepared. When I questioned the soy status in the entree I had selected, he came back, after checking with the chef and told me it was ok to order. No soy present The restaurant was full but that did not change the atmosphere or class of service. When the bill was presented the waiter stated that he had taken the schnitzel off the check. Of course it's a great idea for a private holiday party! Combining the best food on Indy's Northside (Fishers area) with an excellent wine list and great service--that's Peterson's niche. I'm surprised I haven't been here for a private event before. On a warmer November Saturday, I joined a women's social club as their guest for their recruitment event in a private room. The restaurant was closed to the public. I didn't take photos of our food as their guest. The club chose a first course that included a Peterson's salad, Caesar salad or Lobster Bisque. (I chose lobster bisque and was not disappointed.) The temperature was perfect, the consistency was perfect according to all that enjoyed it. It was rich but in a restrained way, so you could finish it. Our entree choices were salmon, a six-ounce filet mignon with a choice of accompaniments or chicken. I chose the filet with a blue cheese crumble crust. It was served with mashed potatoes and a yummy carrot/green bean veggie. For the record, I've never written "yummy" and carrots in a sentence together. Dessert choices were cheesecake or crème brûlée. Being the sophisticates they are, most of the ladies politely had their cheesecake packed to go. I plowed through my crème brûlée like my life depended on it. It was delightful. I have to say we had a great experience here. Service was spot on. I love they give you warm bread. I had the crab cake appetizer and it was quite tasty. The star of the night though was the Nicole Taylor lobster bucatini. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the amount of lobster was good. I would definitely order it again. So, despite being known for their steak, I opted for the jumbo sea scallops. They were delicious. However, my fiancé got the steak, and one bite made me wish I had gone with the filet. Their steak is easily the best I've ever had. For sides we opted for the portobello mushrooms and the au gratin potatoes. The potatoes were our favorite. And then we got the creme brûlée for dessert. I've been to Peterson's several times and their food is always amazing! This time I tried their Devour menu and enjoyed everything. The bread was always freshly baked and the filet was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend the Lobster Tempura Fingers and Lobster Bisque. The service was kind of slow, but our server was very nice and I did appreciate having time in between courses. Our server gave us free chocolates for dessert, which was very nice! Went to Peterson's for their summer devour menu (highly recommend a reservation!). Good night of fun food and trying a new place. The service was a little slow, but also our waiter was apologetic and let us know from the beginning that it was pretty busy. No big deal! Lobster bisque was incredible as were the scallops. I am not a carrot fan, but their roasted carrots were great! Ordered Creme brûlée for dessert...it seemed like it had been sitting for awhile, as the sugar on top absorbed in and didn't have the usual Creme brûlée "crack" when you break into it. Still good but not amazing. It is dark inside so bring reading glasses if you have them! Plenty of parking and a delicious chocolate comes with your check! read more

My husband and I made reservations on a Wednesday evening, for our wedding anniversary/ birthday. We'd heard so many great things about this restaurant and how they make birthdays and anniversaries special, so we wanted to check it out. When we arrived, we were greeted and asked if we were celebrating anything special (my husband noted this on the reservation as well), and we told them that it was our anniversary. We asked to be seated where the setting was a little intimate, and they agreed to switch our table. Service was a bit slow. We started off with cocktails, and they were extremely watery. Just horrible! We had the prime rib egg roll appetizer, which was delicious. The pretzel bread was pretty good. The wedge was okay, and I added bacon. My husband ordered the slab of ribs, which were absolutely disgusting. They tasted as if they were thrown in an oven with a bottle of liquid smoke. Horrible! I ordered the ribeye steak with the blue cheese and back crust. The crust was extremely dry and I barely tasted any blue cheese. The steak was flavorless. Although the service was slow, our server was decent and friendly. We had to once again mention our anniversary and my birthday to our server. I have never experienced this at any other restaurant. A must if you are ever in the area or even within a couple of hours for sure! The owners are really committed to exceptional unreasonable hospitality! I was so amazed I begged for a little tour and found that every staff member i met has been there for 8-20 years!!! (They are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year!) I mean if that doesn't tell you how they treat their staff (especially in today's market) nothing will. The GM is super knowledgeable about both the food and wine. The chefs committed and passionate about food! Definitely the best experience I've had with fine dining in IN hands down! We had the oysters, lobster tempura, prime filet, creamy potato, spinach (wow!), lobster bucatini, grouper special, orange chicken, caymus and finished with banana bread pudding and the creme brûlée (not as easy to execute perfectly as many would claim!). The attention to detail when my after coffee came with a brilliant home made biscotti and then the check presented with a cookie dough truffle was the "ganache" on the cake! Since moving to Indiana my wife and I will drive by and say we need to try this place. Today was our 21st anniversary and we did try it. I had the 20 oz cowboy ribeye and the disappointment on my face was pretty obvious to my wife. She asked what was wrong and my response was... I think they cooked this at Waffle House and brought it back to me. For a place that claimed that they are known for steaks, it was the worst steak I've had in 48 years of my life. For a cowboy ribeye it was thin and just not well prepared. Nothing seemed to have flavor that we ordered. I tried my wife's lobster bisque and no flavor at all. She enjoyed her crab cakes. Only reason for 2 stars. I felt like tonight someone stole 250 from me that we will never get back. Moving forward we will continue to just drive by and not wonder what it is like anymore. read more

What a lovely evening at petersons! We went to celebrate my birthday. We started off with the bacon wrapped shrimp with stuffed lobster. We then were served 2 pretzel bread rolls and 1 sourdough roll served with regular butter and butter with horseradish. We then chose the 8 ounce filet medium to split along with king crab mac and cheese and spinach! Lastly, they served a complimentary dessert and I got to choose from 3 and I chose the brownie with ice cream! All in all it was a wonderful night.
