Today, I went in for a cleaning. I checked in and waited about ten minutes before heading back with Christina who was also my hygienist about six months ago. She did a great job again and tried to be as careful as possible. Asked me a couple of times if I was alright, and I was fine. I had braces when I was younger and did not wear my retainer. So I'm under the impression that my teeth shifted in the top while my bottom teeth stayed so straight and so tight together that I can't even force floss comfortably in between them. I came to the orthodontist's office right after my HSA had loaded. I had actually went to another orthodontist's office about two or three years ago for them to tell me that even after having braces that I would need to be in them for at least two years and that the total would be around $5500 for traditional braces. I walked out of there and told them don't call me, I will call you. I'm not going to mention their name in this review. But they even offered to put the braces on my teeth, same day. Like I said, don't call me. I'll call you. I walked into this office with a completely different impression. From the moment I made a phone call to try to find the location, to the moment I stepped through the door and Sandi and Ashley greeted me so openly and warmly letting me know who had spoken with me on the phone regarding my appointment previously lol. And they were so warm with beautiful smiles and beautiful faces and it was just warm. I was received immediately by the new patient coordinator, Mrs. Kelly and she was such a warm and welcoming addition. We laughed from the moment I sat down in that chair and I was the last patient of the day , I was running late. I apologized and it did not phase her one bit she did not seem like she hated her job or hated where she was. Or that she was just doing it for a check. That says a lot, if you know you know. We laughed through the whole opening process she took my x-rays, She made sure I was comfortable. She took the pictures. She took all of my new patient notes to explain to the doctor what I needed and we had a grand time for about 10 to 15 minutes, which is all it took. And then I got to meet Dr. Ricci. This man came in the room and showed me my pictures, showed me the few imperfections that I had and showed me where I had room to improve and called me a unicorn lol I have all four of my wisdom teeth. And I asked him if he was saying that my mouth was big. He proceeded to tell me no, my teeth are small lol we had a great little laugh at that. But this man did something that no orthodontist or dentist has ever done and I so appreciate him for it. He told me that for him to come up with a Braces plan for me is not necessary. He said to fix the gaps that are giving me the blues in the front of my mouth. The only thing that was needed was light filler or veneers on two teeth. I actually was in a silent stupor period because I was not understanding that this man was telling me that my teeth still looked great and even with what I was noticing, even though he could have charged me an arm and a leg for a two-year plan on Braces I did not need them. This is getting lengthy so I'm going to try to sum it up, but basically I need you guys to know that he had every opportunity to hit me over the head with a two year ,organizing, teeth pulling to make space for shifting, plan... that I would've been wholeheartedly For!, and he Did not take it! I am in complete shock. Even more shocked that the consultation was absolutely free even though I did not commit to a dental plan because this doctor told me that he could not, in good conscience, take my money and put me through agony to do very little. He referred me back to my regular dentist and gave me my records and told me what to tell him. This entire office is genuine and if you can get here... Get here . Thank you guys so much and I hope the influence that I have if any on yelp and on Google allows people to find you. A genuine doctor and doctor's office is very hard to find. And let us not forget to mention that I got to spend the will and it wholeheartedly without any influence landed where I wanted to land exactly on a Crumbl cookie five dollar gift card. Super sweet staff, every time you visit you get sweet little patient cards mailed to you filled with sweet words, bracket appointments and any other problems with braces that need appointments are not at all a hassle. My wife had a female and she was gentle. That's not the problem. The problem is the upselling. We got in with their $59 first time client cleaning and examine. Great deal! But I also assumed upselling was in order because of the sale and I've had many dealings with Korean businesses. I'm Korean BTW. Then, he proceeded to begin setting up for a deep clean without asking me first. He simply stated I needed it and assumed I would agree. I stopped him and asked the price difference and he said it was substantial. I told him to do a regular cleaning and he seemed a little disappointed but he did. I know my wife has some dental needs but they told her she needed $3000 in work. Maybe. But I didn't feel 100% comfy with that diagnosis because of the way they went about it with me. The office is set up nice. The waiting area is huge with plenty of couches, TV, tons of magazines, and even a full body massage chair! But some lady put hair grease all over the headrest so I didn't use it. Yuck. The receptionist was friendly and the employees were helpful. Their gift package had some good stuff in it as well. But the assumed acceptance of the upselling was annoying and didn't settle well with me. It makes the client feel uncomfortable.
