I've seen more than my fill of drunkards, tweakers, homeless, etc. and a man walking around with a large knife... Like the rest of downtown Renton, it is unfortunately not the safest of areas. If you are looking to play competitive pickleball, the community of pickleball players here after 4pm are fairly high-level and many of them play in local pickleball tournaments. Can't speak much to them because we didn't use them, but they didn't look bad on the exterior. The park itself is pretty big. There's plenty of space to walk, even with a little mini trail in a cluster of trees near the playground. There's also a baseball field here, and sheltered seating perfect for eating lunch. The playground is awesome too. They've got equipment that's perfect for all ages - and they have baby swings! There's also a well-maintained basketball court here as well. Fabulous park. Super quiet, safe, and a perfect spot to bring the kiddos. We'll be back.

I looked at their website and chose a session on basic skills. When I went in to sign her up, though, Pat (the owner) recommended a different session that would give her scrimmage experience. My daughter was a bit uncomfortable for the first few sessions and even said she wanted to quit (!), but suddenly, about halfway through, she started to feel more confident about her skills. She ended up loving it! I wouldn't have thought that this was the right session for her - which is why I'm giving 4 stars. A good facility is one thing, but having the staff expertise available to point kids in the best direction is what's important.

There is a day use fee but they offer punch cards for regular use. The gym is huge. Has upper seating area. It is 3 basketball courts they place baby gates between for multiple classes. Jazzercise is going on at one end while my daughter has volleyball at the other end. The coach struggles to talk over the music of that other class. It is carpeted as well. They have lots of kid classes available here. And there are some classroom areas, so things like Tai Chi can happen in a less loud environment, but it's not perfect. There is a walking track around the gym upstairs but it costs to walk ....$3. I like this place b/c they offer classes my kids want to try. Younger kids have plenty of sports leagues to enjoy. They have a gym and you can get a good workout here without joining a gym elsewhere. It's nice when the community center is clean and offers a lot. We enjoy utilizing this place. They do not charge extra for non city residents like most of the cities around here.

Summer Concerts in the park here are a win…read more The music has been good so far, each week a different musical genre/band entertains the crowd which is made up of friends ranging in ages from newborns to 90. There's plenty of open space for the kids to run wild, for the adults to deploy their dancing skills and to relax on a Tuesday night with your chosen group. They don't allow you to bring beer or wine which likely keeps people under control, but, removes a certain sophistication from some meals with friends as we try to one up each others culinary whimsy for picnic dinners. I must say that a glass of wine can really up the taste of my food. Highly recommend going at least once this summer for the people watching, the competitive food selections spread out on our blankets and the joy of being outdoors on these gorgeous summer nights.

I haven't seen a dog fight or aggressive dog in the time I've been going. The restroom is clean and open year-round. The do turn off the water inside the dog park so we usually bring some.
