Signing up was easy and I was able to borrow tools the same day. I borrowed an electric weed wacker and an electric edger. They even offered to lend me an extension cord and safety equipment. The staff members were knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The tools were in good condition, but they do ask you to wipe down/clean prior to returning, which is fair. I also like that you can see an inventory online of what tools are available or currently checked out. I really love this concept - it's great for the environment, and saves people money and space in their garages. In addition to the library, they also offer events such as tool repairs, and volunteer opportunities.

There is basically no signage and it can be hard to figure out where things are, but just ask and the guy at the counter knows where everything is. The staff has been super helpful every time I go in. Maybe a bit over-watchful but honestly I can't blame them for that. There are no lines in the small parking lot and it is not super clear where to park. Maybe anywhere is fine? The aisles are very tight and a bit claustrophobic. This isn't a place where you go and wander around to look at everything and find inspiration... it is a place where you need a thing, then you go and buy that thing and go back home to finish the repairs or project. Gardening stuff, plumbing repairs, painting supplies, butane for lighters, autumn mums, if you need it for your home they probably have it tucked away someplace. Prices are reasonable. Plus it's great to have a local place to buy stuff instead of giving money to the big box stores.

They have been around for…read moreages, but a couple of issues need mentioning; The receipts are hand written, but are hard to read without a clearly list of items especially if you save them to document purchases for specific projects and for future orders. They also don't have your name or business on the form either. Recently they have added the cost credit card companies charge them (3%) passing it discretely along to the customer.

However I have found myself here twice in the past week. The first time was to try to find pruners that can be used standing. While we were not able to find those, sadly, the owner (I think) and his employee went out of their way to see how they could help me. Then, a few days later, I find myself on a mission to find a certain kind of plant food. I had already checked at Home Depot while buying bird seed, but they had not had it come in for over a year and were not sure when it was coming in. I called Walmart, Loews, and two garden stores in the area too. They did not have any in stock either. On a whim I stopped in here again, asked the employee if they had it, he took me to the aisle and there it was!! I scooped up the two boxes they had. This store looks small from the outside, but it is quite large once inside. It is next to and connected to the Schuele Paint Store, more or else on the corner of Summer and Main. Rather than travel to the suburbs, I will go here first now, they are helpful, pleasant, local and easy to get to.

It was easy to find staff to ask questions. I only had 10 mins to find florescent light and pay for it. One staff directed me to the lighting section and a second staff member brought me directly to the light tubes.
