I was referred to Dr. Andiman by my hematologist. I had a different neurologist prior to seeing Dr. Amdiman. I was assessed more thoroughly than I had ever been. I was relieved to be treated with such kindness. This doctor was the only Doctor who consodered/ recognized that I might be suffering from Neuro Lyme disease. Went to see Dr Andiman at Cedars-Sinai headache clinic. Not only did he ignore how serious my symptoms were (debilitating headaches escalating in length and frequency) he prescribed me a medication I had already tried that didn't work. I BEGGED my GP for a CT scan and it turned out I HAD BRAIN CANCER. I had a brain tumor exactly where I was having headaches. It was the size of a kiwi and my neurosurgeon said it had probably been growing for a while at least 10 years . had to have brain surgery to have it removed, but this doctor would have just written an Rx that didn't work and let me walk out of there without any further tests. 2 months after my brain surgery for the brain cancer this guy totally missed, he has the GALL to send me a bill for his services totally outside of the Cedars-Sinai system of accounting. So basically this guy would have let me go on with brain cancer and charged me for the privilege. Cedars-Sinai should NOT have him as a doctor at their institution. read more

I would rather wait for a good doctor, rather than have no wait for a crummy doctor! Dr. Andiman is the BEST! I recently had a seizure and though I hadn't seen him in 2 years, his staff squished me in. He spent 1 hour with me assessing my situation. Because Dr. Andiman takes his time assessing your individual situation, it may cause him to get behind in patients' schedules. But I would much rather see a very good doctor, though having to wait, rather than getting in immediately and seeing a crummy doctor. I have been a patient of Dr Andiman for many years. He recently changed offices and has a new staff. I called to get a refill of my migraine meds and was told that I hadnt been to the office in over a year and that I was expected to come every 6 months. Never heard that before. I told the woman I needed my meds and she said she would tell the doctor. I waited a week.without a response. My pharmacist who has known me for years also, fronted me a few pills. I called the office e again and was told that I need to come in every 3 months. I just wanted to speak to the doctor and get my meds and then I.would.make an appointment. It wasnt like I needed narcotics. In fact they give me migraines. I have yet to get my refill or hear from the dr Andiman. Who does that!? I am extremely disappointed and now I have to wait a month for an appt. with another neurologist so that I can get meds for my headaches that I suffer from frequently. read more

I've been suffering from migraines since I was 11 years old. I've been to many neurologists over the years and tried many treatments as there is no cure. Recently I have gone through a series of traumatic events that I've caused me immense stress thus triggering my migraines out of control. I was getting tired of relying on taking my imitrex every other day as it takes the pain away but makes you very tired. Plus insurance only covers 9 tablets for every 20 something days and often I'll run out before my insurance will cover the refill. So decided to seek out additional advice and opinions from another neurologist. Was referred to Dr. Andiman's office through a friend who had been to the office to see his partner. I arrived 15 minutes early so I could fill out all the necessary new patient forms. I was then informed he was running a bit behind. Had to wait maybe about 15 to 20 minutes past my actual appointment time till I was seen. The office building hallways were under construction and the actual office itself seemed a bit run down and dated. However the front desk staff was pleasant and professional. During the appointment I gave him the rundown on my current situation and medical history. I asked about certain alternative treatments that I have not tried yet that I thought could be beneficial and he just shut them down completely. He also just claimed that I suffer from migraines and not clusters even though I know there is a family history of cluster headaches as well as I can tell the difference in my type of headaches. Also just said that I'm getting so many headaches because of the rebound effect which I am well-versed in and don't believe that is solely the case because due to my situation. I'm just at a heightened state making me more sensitive. So I wasn't confident or necessarily in agreement with his diagnosis and suggestions. It seems that doctors nowadays don't like when patients actually have knowledge. They seem to be put off by that. So, Instead he ended up prescribing me an antidepressant that often treats pain. I looked up the side effects after the appointment and saw that it can induce and cause anxiety amongst a host of other unpleasant side effects that he didn't go over in the appointment. In my medical history I said that I suffer from anxiety since I take medication for that . So I thought that he did not listen to me and ended up prescribing something that could potentially make me feel worse. At the end of the appointment I had to ask for samples which normally other neurologists I've been to have just given me at the end of the appointment with out me requesting after I've expressed what medication works best for me. So needless to say I did not go ahead and fill the prescription. Going to get another opinion elsewhere and will not return to this office. read more

Ever heard the term "God Complex"? This guy has it in spades. I was just discharged from the hospital after a 4 day stay for a hemiplegic migraine (a migraine that exhibits signs of a stroke). I went to Dr. Andiman 2 years ago begging for help. The pain has been excruciating to say the least. He insisted he could cure it while I begged him to manage the pain in the meantime. He refused claiming that he will not prescribe narcotics as if I was a drug addict! He continued continued prescribing me every medication under the sun from indomethiacin to gabapentin all of which I had been on in the past and had done nothing! But of course they were not prescribed by him so something must be wrong! He could have cared less what I had been on or what I really needed. It was all about his ego. I was in so much pain and remain so. All he wanted was to say he cured me and had 0 interest in relieving my pain. I have since switched to Dr. Justin Dominick in Tarzana who neither prescribes narcotics but is so caring and is intent on finding something that works including giving me Botox injections (32 injections which sometimes work but when they work it's a God given miracle!) The difference between Dr. Dominick and Dr. Andiman is like Santa Clause and Scrooge! I feel like I wasted a year of my life with a megalomaniac doctor who didn't know me from any other patient. read more

Dr. Andiman is probably the best doctor I have ever had in my life. He is very bright, but with humble modesty. He treats his patients with kindness, respect and treats his patients as his equals. he is extremely thorough and keeps impeccable notes as you tell him your symptoms. You will see him go back and read his notes and will explain to you his diagnose(s) or his thoughts on the matter, and will explain in the most layman way ,so that "we non doctor's"can understand. I have had serious health issues for the past five plus years, with various symptoms, most neurological issues. When I was referred to Dr Andiman over a year ago, he has really stuck by my side as a loyal doctor, who truly cares with utmost genuineness and professionalism. After over a year of being his patient we have finally been able to diagnose my complex various symptoms with a concrete diagnoses, when no other doctors were able to diagnose. I have never in my life have had a doctor that genuinely cares about the well being and health of their patients. In the past, due to bad experiences, I used to think that all doctors today only care about money and not their patients. Due to my great experience with Dr Andiman, I now feel like doctors do really care about their patients. You know how back in the olden days doctors made house visits and the family is close friends with the doctor and the whole town knows him of a kind, bright and warm local doctor, Dr. Andiman fits that imagine perfectly to me, except he doesn't make house visits lol, what I'm getting at is that he truly cares about his patients and for that brief 30mins you sit in his office and you tell him your symptoms you almost feel like family ; and his geniousness makes you feel assured that your road to successful health is just around the corner having him as a doctor, because he never will give up on helping his patients have a successful road to great health. My health issues are now completely under control and I am now on the road to wonderful health because of him. This is the first time in five plus years that I'm not in pain and truly feel like my good ol bubbly old self.
