These episodes, when out of control, can really wreak havoc on my life and make me very depressed. Dr. Segil has helped me get to a point where I'm experiencing less migraines, and it has greatly improved my overall quality of life. I'm so grateful for this and to have found such a compassionate, competent specialist. Wait times in the office are fairly short, and whenever I need to call or email the office, it's easy to get in touch with his office assistant, Amalia. I highly recommend this very thorough, knowledgeable, no-nonsense doctor…read more Dr. Lavian ordered a lot of labs and imaging tests and prescribed medication after tailoring it to my preferences (I refuse to take a certain type of medication but he found an alternative that I'm fine with). The day after I got my MRI and CT scans done, I received an unexpected phone call from dr. Lavian's office. They insisted I come to his office the same day to discuss the imaging results. At first I turned them down because I didn't really have a way to get to Encino before the end of the business hours (which was three hours away), and besides I had an appointment with dr. Lavian already scheduled approximately three weeks later. Five minutes later they called back and said the doctor absolutely insists I come in right away to discuss the imaging results from the previous day. I did go. What I learned that day at dr. Lavian's office is that I had a non-neurological but potentially life threatening condition. Dr. Lavian became aware of it because the CT technician captured it in the scan even though it was a bit outside of the area that dr. Lavian had requested the scan for. Dr. Lavian immediately put in an urgent referral to a vascular surgeon and told me to retrieve the authorization the next morning and schedule an appointment without delay. He also reiterated the importance of adhering to the medication he had prescribed, and ordered more labs to be done prior to the follow up appointment. So, yes, this doctor is very busy and has a wait room full of patients every time... (Frankly, I'd be worried if the wait room was empty!) Yes, there is a wait at every appointment. But the doctor does a very good job and clearly cares about his patients. Dr. Lavian was professional and polite every time I interacted with him. Most importantly, he's been doing a great job as my doctor. I'll end by sharing what I heard from my primary care doctor. She said that from the ample feedback she receives about dr. Lavian she concluded that he wants the best for his patients. I couldn't agree more.

THREE DAYS LATER, this useless excuse for a doctor finally called him back, never even apologizing for the extended delay. I could go on and on listing previous examples of his lack of professionalism and lack of simple caring. The one thing is DOES care about is the money. During Covid, he communicated with his patients via telephone appointments. That was a real treat: five hundred dollars for approximately three to four minute phonecalls. Kristina and Vanessa sent forms and prepared ahead of time. The extra 2nd star is for the office staff. I filled out probably 7-8 detailed forms and had to wait 1.5 months to see Dr. Schechter. The day before my appointment I was notified for MBS (mind body syndrome) / TMS patients there's an extra $130 or 150 (I forget exactly the price) you have to pay out of pocket that's NOT covered by insurance. During the zoom appointment Dr. Schechter was 20 minutes late. He didn't review any of my files and just started reading them right there. Prior to our appointment I was really excited to finally get his diagnosis. I had sent a very organized 100 word summary of my conditions and what's I've tried so far.... and that wasn't read either. During our call, he cut me off several times and ask questions that I had been asked 100 times already by other practitioners, questions that easily would have been answered if he read my summary or any of his forms that his office had asked me to fill out. Towards the end of the call about 10 min prior to our 1 hour time, he was rushing to leave while I still had a lot of questions. Interesting considering he was 20 min late. I learned 0%. Nothing new. It was disappointing, being in pain for so long, hoping someone can help you. After this I sought other methods of help and the Mind body stuff really didn't resonate with me anymore. Not only is he a amazing doctor but he's very patient and takes his time with his patients. I had a lot of pain and discomfort on both my knees before my first visit and Dr. Samimi fixed and relieved all the pain. Had two successful surgeries, Dr. Samimi made me feel comfortable and confident with him doing the surgeries. Can't forget PA Elliot Bright! Seen Elliot multiple times during my treatments with Dr. Samimi and he's absolutely the Best! Elliot truly cares about his patients and is very attentive.
