We've lived in the area for about 5 years and have yet to step foot into this great park until just recently with our grandkids. This park boasts great walk/riding trails, large expansive green space, and just the best kid's play area. Now this play set is average in size and boasts a small and larger kid set, but the reason it's awesome is the kids! We were there for about an hour and the kids had all made friends, organized a zombie tag game between themselves and were having a blast. Sweet parents chatted together and it made me feel so good to hear the giggling sound of kids playing together! We will be back for sure. read more

Ronald Reagan Park is the closest to my house so I decided to go after a while. I checked the weather before going there and there was a minimum chance to rain, but it wasn't sunny at all. Y'all know that feeling? It was definitely great to just feel some nature and spend some time alone. The park is located in Snellville, on Five Forks Trickum Rd. This park is super clean. It has a couple of playgrounds, a lake, and even a doggy's park inside the area. While I was walking around I also got to pet a couple of doggies and it was great!! There are plenty of benches, and picnic areas too. I saw some signs for the "senior" and "teen" área but I couldn't really figure out where they were or how they look like.t point is, this park is for everyone which is great. Im trying to get healthier this year, and move more so I'm definitely gonna be coming to this park more often. It's close to me, and it's simple great. Today was my 1st time back to this park in a few years. Since then parks lake has had a makeover. They have cleaned up the lake, added some features and replaced the old bridge. Kudos. It's a lovely park with a little something for everyone. There is a small skate park, a basketball court, two playgrounds, an open field, picnic areas and a dog park for small and large dogs. I enjoyed the paved trail that loops around the perimeter of the park for .75 miles. The trail will lead you pass the lake and along the way you will see an opening where you can access the water. I have seen a few people and dogs play in the water here ( kinda unsanitary to me, but to each is own). read more

This park has two section, one for small dogs and one for big ones. Usually is not really packed. Which is perfect if you're looking to introduce your dog to dog parks and new dogs. One of the things I've noticed with a lot of Gwinnett County parks is the catch all mentality. Football fields, tennis courts, baseball fields, fields, fields, fields. What I like about Ronald Reagan park is it's just a park. Paved walking trail? Check. Play area for the kids? Check Secluded bubbling brook that's great for lunch? Check Several stringer trails that lead off to a nice little lake? Check Dog park! Check Senior area (what's senior about fun and games??)? Check. Teen area (I must've missed it)? Check Yep, there is a basketball court, skate park and two play areas for children, but there seems to be more trees than people, and that's great if you like a little quiet nature time. My favorite part of the park and trail is towards the back of the dog park, because all you hear is moving water and birds. You can sit there and just chill on one of the benches and reset. If you're so lucky to live behind the park, there's a wooden path that connects the neighborhood behind it, and there are several picnic opportunities/grills/swing sets to make your experience here pleasant. One of the only downsides to Ronald Reagan park is it's sometimes tough to get out of, especially if you're turning left onto Five Forks Trickum Road...but hopefully after visiting this park for a bit, you're too zen to have road rage anyway. read more

I took myself out for an exploration walk here yesterday, but I have actually been here a couple of times. This is not my first choice for walking, because the trail is a little small. It feels like you'll be walking for about ten minutes and then the trail is already over and you start all over again. This can be good, if you don't have time to venture out too far, but it can also be bad if you'll be tempted to go home too quickly. There are some pretty spots off the short trail to see and admire though. This is a great place to collect your thoughts by running river. There is also a basketball court and an area where skateboarders are always skateboarding. Apparently there is also a "senior area" and a "teen area" which i'm not sure what there is there that makes it for that demographic. The "Senior Area" looks like there are a bunch of horse-shoe game set-ups. There are also two different swing sets and a playground a huge dog park to take your paw-pal. There is a pretty lake in the front also with a couple of bridges. This would be a good picture-taking spot. I think the trail is only 1.25 miles. There are many picnic tables and places to BBQ or have an outdoor party too. #YEFit2015 read more

What separates this park from the rest is its location and the people who visit it. As someone who enjoys peace and quiet, this park is ideal. I never see this place become overcrowded, and the visitors keep it pretty clean. Most of those who visit the park are young families or elder couples. With the inclusion of basketball courts, there are young people playing basketball from time to time. Even with all the diverse group of people with different backgrounds visiting, I feel as though that this park always keeps people peaceful and cordial. In the 7 years I have lived in Snellville, I have always had pleasant times visiting the park with my girlfriend and the dog. Yes, this place is awesome for dog owners as it comes with several caged play areas for dogs where people get to mingle. The dogs love it, and its owner do as well. Ronald Reagan Park is full of wonderful and polite visitors and offers peace and quiet. I plan to bring my family here for walks and picnics once I make a family of my own!! read more

Ehh..... It's an ok park. The playground area seems to have the most to offer for anyone wanting to come here. The walking trail is pretty, surrounding a pond. There are conveniently placed doggy doo grab bag locations. There are two basketball hoops in the court. The skate park.... A mostly flat bowl with a short rim, then two rails to the sides. Not very challenging, but good for the beginner that's taking baby steps into skate tricks. It's peaceful and quiet here, but the addition of light posts around the basketball court and skate park would be nice and encourage an active outdoor life as opposed to the indoor digital life. read more

The dog park here is by no means the main feature of this park. I've come here over 10 times since February and 50% of the time it has been locked. There is a sign at the park's main entrance that says that the dog park is closed for renovation starting early February, but, it gives no indication of when it will be reopened. Again, I've been here several times since then to take my dog on a walk when I discovered that the dog park was in fact open - but it's frustrating that there's no consistency, especially since this is the closest option to my home. I probably won't be back until I see that the sign I mentioned has been removed, or there's a new one saying that the dog park is finally open for good. I've also noticed that there's a lot of dog poop throughout, so be careful where you step. There are definitely some people who don't bother picking up after their dogs either. Hopefully those who maintain the park will get it cleaned regularly after the renovations - at least they added a few obstacles and a water fountain in the big dog area. In summary, the main reason that I come to this park - the dog park - is why I won't be returning for a while, but I do think that the rest of the park is alright. The playground up front, grill/patio areas, and open green space to the right of the entrance seem good for families and picnics. The trail that goes around the park is nice for anyone who wants to enjoy a walk in the shade, and the basketball courts are definitely popular. However, the smaller playground near the rear and one of the bridges over the pond are fenced off due to construction with also no signs indicating when they will reopen. read more

Among the pantheon of Gwinnett county's recreational parks, Ronald Reagan has a unique and sometimes confusing identity. It's small and crowded: Ronald Reagan Park fell under the "if you build it, they will come" mentality and was shoe-horned into a small green space under the shadow of the nearby Ronald Reagan Parkway. Once built it was immediately flooded with residents starving for recreational space. The small size makes it feel much more crowded than other nearby parks. It's a jack-of-all-trades: it has a 3/4 mile walking trail (not big enough to really get some distance, but nice that it's there); it has signs saying "teens this way" which lead to a tiny skate park and other signs saying "seniors this way" which lead to bocce courts; it has a dog run; it has basketball courts; it has a playground for the kiddies; it has a large open field for some frisbees; it has a stagnant lake; it has a zig-zag wooden bridge leading into the backside from a bordering neighbourhood; and finally, it has a gorgeous little stream on the rear that someone went through a lot of trouble to build an HGTV rockscape around and you'll never notice it unless you ask yourself why there's a break in the fencing as you walk around. I think someone just made a checklist of what all every park should have to appeal to everyone and made Ronald Reagan that park. read more

Great dog park! I've been to this park a few times and the last time I visited I had a great time! My dogs loved it there!! There are water fountains for the dogs and plenty of room and things for them to play on. The playground is nice and big! The walking path is great also!! A year or so ago, while exiting and going to my vehicle, I noticed a bullet casing in the parking spot next to my vehicle. So, I will not be returning this park due to criminal activities possibly being taken part here and my safety will be jeopardized. read more

Recently 'renovated' in 2016, the dog park is open now 2017. There are two enclosed areas for dogs, one for large dogs the other for small dogs. Although if you come and there is no one else there, obviously you can go wherever! The large dog area is sunny, while the small dog area is shaded by tall pines. Be forewarned, rain showers will cause a stagnant pool of water to gather at one end of the large dog area so that it becomes a weedy swamp for days until the sun dries the soil. Although there are water fountains inside both areas, dogs cannot press buttons to activate these fountains. Instead bring a large old cooking pot from Goodwill or other container (bucket) and fill it from the fountain then place it on the ground for your canine companion! During the hot summer, bring a kiddie pool and fill it at the park for your canine to relax in style! Smart! If you think there is a chance that you may need to clean up after your pooch, then be sure to bring your own poop-bags! In fact, bring extra used grocery bags and add these to the PVC bag containers posted inside the area for others! Be a good neighbor! Be sure to attend the morning pow-wow between 9am-10am most mornings! You will see a wide array of mid-sized and large dogs gathering and having a play-date! Everyone is welcome! read more

Do not take your dog to the dog park here. The moment we entered the gate, two dogs - a German Shepherd and a Saint Bernard - rushed us. One bit my dog around the neck and the other tried to bite her flank. I stomped the vicious dog's head three times before it released. Then I grabbed our dog and we backed out through the gate. We have heard from other dogowners that Reagan Park has mean dogs but we assumed they were isolated incidents. Our experience tonight was chilling. Our dog got away with minor injuries because I (foolishly) intervened. I could have been seriously bitten. Keep your dogs safe and avoid this park! read more

I lived in a neighboring neighborhood for a year recently and I often found myself here. It is an older park, but it has aged well. Recent maintenance has helped along the edges of the creek. Depending on when you visit, RRP can be packed or a ghost town. Lots of things to do here. Basketball courts are very popular. There is a series of dog parks. Creekfront areas, a long track with varying paths. Playgrounds! Lots of barbeques, birthdays, and picnics when the weather is warm. Soccer, ultimate, and lacrosse practice occurs on the large central field. There is something for everyone at this park! Come on in and enjoy it. Small but beautiful park! There are mile markers so you can track your progress if you're exercising. There is a running brook with real rocks and animal life. A bridge sits near one of the picnic rest areas and if you walk over it, you can see nice sized coy fish and turtles swimming near the water surface. There is a playground and basketball court. It seems very family friendly and safe. I didn't notice any bad characters lurking or see any immediate dangers. Most other people were playing ball, exercising or flirting with their date by sitting on the picnic tables or in the grassy area. I plan to revisit here as frequently as possible this spring and summer. As I write this there is some current construction going on in the dog park and on one of the bridges that connects the perimeter walking path, so just be mindful you will see some areas roped off.
