There is so much to do at Rhodes Jordan Park! I really like the area, especially the water area.

They get two stars because the staff is nice. After attending a baseball tournament there this weekend I was dismayed at the condition of the restrooms inside the baseball park. There was soap in the dispenser but no running water to wash it off with for the entire weekend. The toilet seats are so old they're peeling and surely aren't cleaned regularly. The only thing that could make it worse was the intense heat shooting from the vent. Instead of turning it off they propped the door open. It was very odd. I didn't experience the rest of the part but it looked nice enough. read more

Nice clean park with a small lake and a paved walking trail. The trees don't provide a lot of shade in certain places, so it might get really hot on your stroll. There are playgrounds and pavilions where some events were being hosted. The signs that state "Don't feed the ducks" are hidden so many young children were feeding those ducks. read more

Nice park with swimming area and picnic pavilions for outdoor eating from local restaurants during the summer. We brought a picnic lunch and met the family there during the Pandemic when we were not eating in restaurants. Nice place to spend an afternoon.., read more

I went to this park the other day at 2pm. I was with my daughter we were the only people in the park. It was super Erie and creepy so I decided to leave. While we were leaving a prison work bus was pulling up. Mind you me and my daughter where the only ones in the park and this was super unsettling so we started to head to the car faster and they let the prisoners out and they started following us... I'm never coming back to this park ever. read more

This park is very clean and has several different places where different events and activities can be hosted here. They have a beautiful lake that people can talk a stroll, brisk walk, or run around with beautiful scenery. They have playgrounds. Great place for hosting social distancing events with wide open spaces. The women's bathroom needs to be cleaner, but other than that my overall experience is that this park is a good choice and in downtown Lawrenceville. read more

Runner's Review Yes, I call myself a runner now. This review is from a running perspective of the park. When I just need to run a quick 3 miles I'll come here and turn my brain off for half an hour. The park isn't too clean. If it's rained hard in the last few days there are little mud slides covering some of the trail and the slides look oily/greasy. The bathrooms are ABSOLUTELY disgusting and ... I hope you never have to do anything other than stand and pee. But from a running perspective - it's one of the few parks that has a reasonably sized, and in good condition, path that isn't overly hilly. Gwinnett is full of hills - this takes effort to accomplish. The path around the lake is about 1.1 - 1.2 miles in length and is relatively flat. There's enough variety (and one small hill) to keep you interested. The only negative of the loop is that during the summer the sun just BAKES the side of the path that goes over the lake's dam. read more

Rhodes Jordan is a nice park, but I wouldn't consider it one of the nicer looking parks in Gwinnett. It's hard to not feel like you're dead smack in the middle of urban industrialism with high voltage power lines in plain view, factory smoke stacks, freight trains running every so often and PA announcements you can here from local factory businesses nearby. However, they do have one of the nicest Aquatic Centers in the crop of Gwinnett County Parks. Always busy in the summer, kids will easily find other playmates here as there are also summer camps in the adjacent building. Water slides feel similar to being on a Carnival cruiseship, a lazy river, small attached swimming pool and all kinds of water play equipment give kids hours of fun. There are also HUGE umbrellas to set up your family blankets underneath for a little shade. Gwinnett residence get a discounted entry fee and there is also a yearly pass for all Gwinnett County Parks. It's a full of venues for activities like outdoor basketball & tennis courts, multiple baseball diamonds with score boards, football and soccer fields and there is even a horseshoe arena... imagine that! A nice city lake with paved trail for runners, walkers or bike riders as well as a picnic pavilion and playground. Lots of geese too, although I do believe feeding them is discouraged. All in all, a great way to spend a hot summer day with the kids. read more

Having grown up near Stone mountain for much of my life, I was craving some outdoor trails nearby and stumbled upon Rhodes Jordan Park. My first thought when I saw it was, Piedmont park Jr. That's not a slight to Rhodes Jordan, because I love Piedmont, minus the congestion, and while this park is busy, it's definitely room to move about unhindered. I think most of the other reviews mentioned the basics...softball fields, aquatic center, places to sit, eat, grill, and a fair amount of paved "hiking" trail, which is pretty flat, so don't go expecting anything challenging, but it's great for a run (several benches along the trail, but not as many trash cans along the way). Additionally, the park and trails are kept up really nicely. I don't remember seeing any trash/debris along the paved trail I love the lake in the middle of Rhodes Jordan, which is 22 acres in size, and you can fish in this lake, because the wind blowing over it cools you right down. The park itself is 162 acres and there is free access/parking, very nice! I really enjoyed myself, and can tell it's going to be a fairly popular area in the summer I'll definitely be back read more

Although I have been coming here for years, I did not truly get to explore it until the other day. It's a beautiful park with a huge lake. It's not as huge as Tribble Mill, or maybe it is, but the walking trail isn't as big. The trail was about 1.5 miles which is half the walking trail at Tribble Mill so it doesn't require as much of a commitment. It was a beautiful, breezy, day and there were actually not too many people there in the afternoon. There are lots of playgrounds and places to sit. There are swings and both nature-y parts and more lake-side parts. There are also a bunch of baseball fields. They may have some sort of Senior Center or Aquatic Center also. Quiet, clean and very serene. This was my first time to this park and my daughter loved it. She didn't want to leave. Geese and ducks stay mostly in the lake but they don't chase you like at other parks. There was a group of about 8 baby geese, so cute!! I will definitely be returning!! read more

Recently visited this park for the first time with my kids and really enjoyed it. The park was well kept, it was really big, playground area and pavilions were nice and clean and there was a big lake with plenty of geese. Would be a nice place to have a birthday party for a kid, events, picnics, or just to enjoy sunshine and nature. I will definitely be back soon! read more

Ok park in the middle of the city. There is a paved trail that travels around the lake and you can follow it up to the Senior Center, tennis courts, horse shoes, and Rec center. As I followed the paved trail I thought I hit jackpot and was hiking in the woods for a minute, but then the trail curved back around to where I was originally. Mostly concrete jungle with parking galore. There is a train track seen from the trail and I could hear often the sound of squealing train brakes and motorcycles off in the distance. Walked into a nice rec center with loads of activities available to Gwinnett citizens. read more

It's been ages since I've been to Rhodes Jordan Park. I don't think I've been back for over a decade. I used to live in the area and it's been over a decade so yeah, it's been that long. My family and I used to frequent the park, go for walks, and kids play on the playground. I recently came back because my nephew was having a birthday party at the aquatic center. My SIL rented it. Driving into Rhodes Jordan, I could tell about how much it's changed and the upgrades. I was shocked. I have to come back and explore again. I'm torn....the park is very nice and I LOVE the path through the woods. I've been here many times and always had problems with the behavior of unsupervised children on the playground. Typically because their parents are at the nearby pavillion not paying attention. My 7 yr old son also witnessed a domestic dispute in the parking lot that involved a man hitting his girlfriend. This park is nice....patrons can be somewhat questionable. They do have a great summer camp! I think its the best in the area. Its always sells out. The kids get to swim daily in the Rhodes Jordan pool with waterslide and lazy river. There is also a cool game room where they play games like ping pong. Now I do have a MAJOR complaint about the staff at the pool. I told a friend at work about this pool so that she could take her family. She returned to work after the weekend to tell me that her daughter had a great time - however the pool staff forbid her to swim with her daughter because she was wearing "modest swimwear" per her religious beliefs. She showed the staff including the supervisor that it was actually swimwear and the same material as a bathing suit, but because it was covering her body she was not aloud in the water. This still makes my blood boil. read more

We love coming here with the kids. They have a blast all the time. We love the view and how the ducks are waking around. People are always friendly and the park is very clean. Have nothing but good things to say about this park. I strongly recommend it. read more

This place is super fun for kids and has great amenities for adults too. Where do I start? The lake path is in super-duper excellent condition. Uber peaceful place to get your "chi" on. The staff is always cleaning up the path or tweaking the playground - which means it's very well maintained. Kids playground is well-kept and has a great variety of things to keep the kids active. Indoor activities are also REALLY good. Rhodes-Jordan has, hands down, one of the best Zumba classes in the area. read more

This is actually a pretty good park. Mainly because its always pretty empty. The weather is cold right now and I just go to take my dog for a run. The lake has a trial that wraps around the whole thing. It feels like its atleast a mile. There are playgrounds for kids at the park. The whole actually has a lot of baseball, softball and soccer fields. These are all locked up though so you need to be part of the league to use it. Either way, this place is nice to walk your dog. I wish there were more spots that you could get dog poop bags because these plenty of poeple not picking up after their dog which really sucks. But if you're responsible, bring bags to pick up after your dog. read more

I have been coming to this park for a couple of months now, mostly for evening walks with the hubby. Its a beautiful park for walking. Its got a huge lake in the middle of the trail with lots of geese, ducks,and trees. The park itself is great. Some of the people there...not so much. Weekdays this place is better. Not so crowded, not so noisy. On weekends, the past few visits have been pretty bad. Last time we went we saw an old lady smoking a joint near where the kids play (no, it was NOT a cigarette, I could tell by the smell), a woman drive down the walking trail onto the grass to sell ice cream out of the back of her minivan, and a rap battle going on at a nearby gazebo that was very loud and laced with profanity...real nice when there are small kids around. Another thing I noticed is that many people cannot seem to read the giant signs that say DO NOT FEED THE FREAKIN BIRDS. That crap you're feeding them? The marshmallows, breadcrumbs, and french fries (yes french fries) are making the geese and ducks crap green turds all over the trail, making it almost impossible not to step in it. Please stop feeding them. You are making them sick. Thank you!!! read more

A PERFECT GETAWAY FOR A BEAUTIFUL DAY! As my husband and I were driving through the area, we decided to stop by this park for a quick view. Wow, this park is huge! It had several fields for soft ball and football. It was a beautiful day and lots of people were out enjoying the play areas, walking trails, team sports and picnic pavilions. It was a gorgeous day so we decided to stop and take in the beautiful scene by the lake. Along one particular side of the lake is a huge play ground for kids and plenty of benches for parents and observers. It was a very nice area and the perfect spot for hosting a family reunion, picnic or birthday party. This is the perfect park to enjoy on a holiday since there appeared to be enough room for EVERYBODY and the areas are spread out so that there is plenty of privacy for visitors. My husband and I were very excited to see what appeared to be a horseshoe tournament in progress. We had not seen horseshoe play in years. How cool! This park has every amenity you could possibly want including walking trails, a large pool with a slide, basketball and tennis courts, a community center, cool walking bridge and even a senior center. It is the perfect place to get away from boredom and reacquaint yourself with the great outdoors, exercise or family bonding. Carpe Diem! read more

We love Rhodes Jordan Park. It's family-friendly with lots to do. We enjoy playing basket ball, walking the trail or just sitting by the lake to enjoy the scenery. For the basketball courts I suggest going early in the morning or on off days during school hours. The courts can get a bit crowded, but they are virtually deserted if you go at the right time of day. During baseball season the little Leagues have teams and rent out the fields...other than that, the baseball fields stay pretty open to the public during off season. read more

Great baseball park. The bathrooms are probably the worse you will ever see. Tissue, trash, pee, all over the floor. We paid to play in that park and paid to enter. Terrible bathroom for kids. Terrible for anyone but kids will have a hard time maneuvering in the filth without touching the wrong thing. There were people maintaining the outside. We were there all day and no one did any routine cleaning in the male or female bathrooms. You definitely need a plan B or go to the bushes. Or Step inside and step in pee and then entire family track it back to your car. read more

A very nice and popular park, located near downtown Lawrenceville. It has a multipurpose trail, with two wooded areas on each side, that takes around 25-30 minutes to leisurely walk around - a little over 15 minutes if you skip the area near the railroad track. Playground, swings, picnic tables, and grills near the lake. Three full sized pavilions, tennis, basketball, softball, activity building with indoor & outside pool areas and lots more! Spacious and well maintained. The walking trail is always clean and well kept. It's wide enough and the park is big enough that even when there are a lot people, it doesn't feel crowded. There are a few play structures in the playground area and they're nicely spread out too. Lots of shady areas to sit on the grass or benches. The lake is well fenced off so I don't have to worry about my toddler scrambling away to the water. We always see lots of animals--fish, geese, ducks, turtles, and even an otter in the lake! read more

One of our best kept secrets in Lawrenceville. Nice multipurpose trail which winds around lake (well, it's really a water reservoir), tennis courts, pool, baseball fields, and senior center. Much of the trail is shaded. read more

I love the park , its a much better improvement now compared to when I was child . More things do at the park which I love , except the water park pool outside some of the people that work there can be rude and if you have a set of rules and only one life guard out of six are following them something needs to be done. read more
