I myself am a Medical social worker and a doctor in the field. I have honestly never thought in my life I would have to see a podiatrist, but oh well I Guess it's part of aging. I don't have the most health in the medical systems nowadays and most providers, however I am please to say that may have changed. I am proud to say that I, have two great providers that have changed my mind, Dr. Wokasien is one of those doctors. His office is conveniently located off 183, conveniently close to a donut shop for me (see Kristy Kreme) review to follow.) The office isn't fancy, but it's cozy, and I felt right at home. Most importantly I did not feel in danger of contracting anything because this was not in a larger clinic building. I felt safe and welcome. Intake was easy, and copay was reasonable and expected. And I did not have to complete needless paperwork. Dr. Wokasien has impeccable bedside manner and a wonderful sense of humor. Doc is personable and made me feel very comfortable with such a vulnerable subject. This doctor wants to help people genuinely and is it after gauging people for money. Doc started with the most non-invasive recommendations, and provided me with much education on the subject. I am currently still his patient, and my stride and feet have never been happier ( except when my pedicures was open -darn that Pandemic). Even though I rarely review services I feel as though the way Dr. W treated me during my last visit was unforgettable and inexcusable. Not only was I verbally attacked but I was lectured on physician office visit protocol and time management. I was 4 minutes early and he came after me. His exact words were "you're always early and because of you I have to start my day early." Let me repeat, I was 4 minutes early, not 44 minutes , not 4 hours, 4 minutes. He has a waiting room in the office building he is located in. What is the issue with patients waiting. He then went on the lecture me that he would never go to any doctors appointment early and he always checks his appointments. It was rude and unprofessional. I wish I could say perhaps he was having on an off day, however, he has been disrespectful to me before. ?Even if he was having a bad day that does not give him the right to treat patients that way. Head my warning! He's not pleasant and not even a great doctor! If there was a -1 rating he would get that from me. read more

I went to Dr. Wokasien for a second opinion after being told by another podiatrist the cyst in my foot would need surgery. Dr Wokasien patiently listened to my concerns and actually assessed and examined my foot instead of just relying on an ultrasound and MRI as the previous podiatrist had done. He was able to recommend less invasive options that worked and saved me from an unnecessary surgery as well as permanent damage that would have resulted from such a surgery. He is very knowledgeable and experienced. He is very concerned about helping his patients and not just making money off of you. A month ago when I was experiencing significant pain in a big toe I tried to make an appointment with a podiatrist at the clinic that I have relied on for 15 years. However none of the five had an opening for at least three weeks. So I checked Yelp and found Dr. Wokasien (with five stars). I called him and he was able to see me the following morning. I have had achy ankles and legs for a while and thought it was just part of life & getting older (I'm only 34!). The aches got worse and finally I suffered a terrible shin splint after a run at town lake in Nikes with little support. I had enough and decided to get help. Dr. Ron was informative, professional, friendly, reasonably priced, and most importantly, he made my feet, ankles and legs feel better! He discovered that my right leg was 1/4 inch shorter than my left and that my arches and body have been suffering from the slight difference. I did a Google search for weekend podiatrists and Dr. Wokasien's name popped up. This past Friday night, an ingrown toenail I'd ignored for about a week made it almost impossible for me to walk. It was red, slightly infected and hurt badly. I called Dr. Wokasien's office first thing Saturday and, fortunately for me, he had a cancellation that morning.
