I called for broken dryer. Ron's "fixed" the dryer 3 times in 4 weeks for $536, then to be told it needed an additional $473 repair after it broke again, after just one load. I can not say if this is an intentionally dishonest practice or simply an inspection that was not thorough enough to see all that was needed. Either way a very bad experience. An accurate or honest diagnosis at the start would have helped me see I needed to replace. Since it was not accurate I'm out $536 and purchasing a new dryer. read more

This company was hired by Frigidaire to make a warranty repair. We had the same upsetting experience as others of being lied to and left in the lurch. A guy, Ray, came out, fiddled a few minutes, and said he had to order a part and that it would take up to 14 days. Meanwhile we had to buy a mini fridge since it already took himn2 weeks to arrive for the appointment. He replied to my texts saying he had no information. I asked him who I should call to find out the problem. He said he would call someone for me. After another few days, I called Frigidaire. They said Ron's Appliance had reported the problem fixed so they had closed our repair ticket. I had to explain everything and requested they send someone from a different company. So lied to for a month, then ghosted. Horrible. Beware. read more

I have a rental property in Healdsburg and our 4 year old Maytag dishwasher stopped working. I had the tenant schedule Ron's to come out and after they did, they said they cleared some codes and cleaned the filter...all fixed for $170. Then the washer stopped working again and Ron's tech said the computer boards in the dishwasher needed to be replaced and for $500+ they could sort it out....but we needed to pay upfront before they started the work. Now we're in buy a new unit or get a second opinion territory. We had a Sears guy come out to take a look. He inspected the dishwasher cleaned out the motor and filters...problem solved. NO. I do not recommend Ron's and will certainly not be using to support my rentals in town. read more

My Electrolux dishwasher stopped working so I called Ron's Appliance and they handled the problem very effectively and with good communication along the way. Very trustworthy re: diagnosis, not trying to sell you parts/repairs you don't need. In the end, my problem was a screw that had gotten into the washer (likely one of the screws to anchor the dishwasher to the underside of the counter top). The technician located the screw, dislodged it, and the dishwasher was back up and running without breaking the bank :) read more

We were having an issue with our refrigerator leaking water with a build up of ice on the bottom of the freezer. When I called Ron's Appliance Repair I left a voicemail for them stating the issue. I almost got a text from them providing an appointment date and time, they asked if it was a good time for them, to which I said yes. On the day of the appointment two technicians came to the house and immediately knew what the problem was. They then explained to me in detail what was the problem along with what they had to do to fix it. They then fixed the problem. I would highly recommend them for any problems someone would have with an appliance. I felt very confident in their ability to repair the problem. I did not have any issue with the cost of the repair because I felt it was very reasonable. read more

They will not answer the phone and sent me a message that they will no longer provide service to my address. I have tried to talk to them about my problem but they refuse to talk. This company was sent by the manufacturer for a warranty repair. The two gentlemen who came and took a look were both courteous and stated the problem was a known issue with a few brands appliances. They told me their office would order the part and get back to me within a few business days. Our issue is with their office, who never followed back up. We waited several business days and then followed up and left a voicemail. They never returned our call. We called several times over the next few weeks and no one answered. We left more voicemails per the manufacturers request and nothing. We texted the number that had originally scheduled with us several times, with no response. We never heard back from this company and they never resolved the issue. No explanation given, no response at all. They just ghosted us. Unprofessional. read more

We've used Ron's Appliance Repair in the past and always found their technicians to be dependable, honest and knowledgeable. They tend to communicate well, arrive on time and get the job done correctly the first time. This experience was no different. We were just sure the problem with our dryer was either a heating element or something that would make buying a new dryer more cost-effective than repairing it. Fortunately, we were wrong. These people are crooks. Be very wary. Our refrigerator stopped working. They charged us $160 to diagnose the problem with our refrigerator. Then they made us buy a new fan for $190. Then they charged us $160 to install the fan. They told us the fridge now worked. In fact, when I checked, it did not work. They then pretended to come back to fix it, but did not actually com. Ron's Appliance Repair has responded to service my oven, microwave, washer and dryer throughout the years, all through Fidelity Home Service. So, all I pay for is the deductible, but I have learned about these Bait & Switch home repair services. This is the 3rd Company that I've paid for to service broke appliances, and other household repairs that I'm unable to complete on my own, and to HOPEFULLY pay a lot less for in the end. This is what I've learned. The repair companies respond and find a problem with your product that is either not covered in the small print, age, or neglect on our part. If the product need be replaced entirely Fidelity will low ball you on how much they'll cover to replace it altogether. Then they'll send inexperienced product technicians who have no idea how to fix anything and then is guided by the office on citing loopholes in the contract for which you we're completely unaware of, they're rude and will spend record breaking insufficient time "in repair and solutions to fix the problem(s)". Every single time another company other than Ron's responded Fidelity would side with the repair company, in their written solutions to fix the problem or problem(s). The last repair company diagnosed the problem as "it's old and your washer is dusty". Then Fidelity said they would not cover anything. The Company, BIG GUYS APPLIANCE REPAIR, proceeded to assemble the unit incorrectly, causing a huge leak, and leaving behind a gasket, and multiple screws. RON'S APPLIANCE REPAIR CITED THE LEAKS DUE TO THE PREVIOUS COMPANY, BIG GUYS REPAIR, not assembling the unit correctly and their excuse was that it was because the unit is too old to repair. I needed to have my oven looked at, I had an extended warranty. The company responded immediately and set up an appointment. I received a call the day of appointment and repair could be scheduled earlier in the day. I was a bit surprised as a woman came to do the repair. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. LOOK ELSEWHERE. Save yourself the headache and just pay for a plumber. The guys who should up were super unfriendly and acted like they didn't want to be there. One acted so annoyed the entire time and even complained about other jobs on his phone to his partner. Upon installation they dented our brand new dishwasher. When we asked what happened all they said was, "oh we did our best call LQ to get a new faceplate. It's under warranty." SERIOUSLY?! They also installed the dishwasher crooked and blamed the flooring. Our other dishwasher was not crooked. They cut a line a got water every where and they did not clean up after themselves. The worse part is we asked them if they needed any additional items. We would run to the hardware store and grab it. They told us no twice. Then they ran to the hardware store themselves and charged us for it. I spoke to a Ray about price and sent plenty of pictures to ask if they could complete what we were asking of them. The guys had no idea what they were supposed to do when they showed up and were annoyed about drilling a hole. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Now we must call a plumber to fix what these guys messed up as everything is leaking and a complete mess. read more

After a remodel, my washer all of a sudden "stopped working." So, you call Ron's appliance and have them fix it. Kirk was great! Arrived in the time frame promised (at the early part of that time frame). After a quick fix to the washer, he leveled it. Also took a look at our appliances and gave me a quick run-down on our new Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawer. Also talked about the ignitor in the range. Super knowledgable, as well as friendly. Our GE almost new dishwasher did not heat. Called the appliance store who said they would send someone in three weeks. Next called Ron's who scheduled a repair in two days. Kirk and Farewell quickly discovered a popped fuse but also showed how to keep the dishwasher like new with filter cleanout and a conditioner. Incompetent and rude technicians. The technician came with a trainee. Neither one was able to fix a very simple issue we had with our refrigerator, and argued that this was 'normal'. We have owned 3 refrigerators since we got married and we know for a fact that the problem was not 'normal' and a competent technician should be able to fix such a simple issue. My husband called Ron's Appliance to have our washing machine repaired. On 11/24/2022 the tech came to our home, he was quick, knowledgable, and pleasant. He informed me that he needed to order parts and that he would have them in a week. I tried to pay the invoice at that time but the tech said the office would email an invoice. We did not hear from Ron's Appliance until 12/19/2022, they informed me that the parts were in. My husband came home and I told him that Ron's called, he said, "I bought you a new washer and dryer for Christmas". We called Ron's and canceled the appointment. On 12/23/2022, the owner of Ron's told us that he understood but would send us an invoice - almost $300 for nothing. I would NOT recommend Ron's Appliance to anyone. read more

I'm a small mom and pop property manager and I've been using Ron's Appliance Repair for the last five years. Ray and Kirk are responsive, prompt, professional, reliable and fairly priced. I called them as I was having trouble with my old refrigerator and oven. They're based in Healdsburg, but they came down to my home in Tiburon. Ron and Kirk both came and were as nice as could be. They realized that there was a wire disconnected that was causing my refrigerator's water dispenser not to work (as opposed to recommending a new door), so they fixed that, and the oven, they ran a bunch of tests and said it should work for now, but cautioned that the long-term fix might be a new touch pad, which would be expensive given the 15+ year age of the oven (but he went for the cheap repair for now, which I appreciated). They also fixed two burners that had been giving me issues on my Thermador cooktop...again, rather than suggesting a replacement, they did a "MacGyver" option of super gluing one of the pieces, which fixed the issue. Last, without me asking, they looked at my dishwasher to make sure it was working well, and took out a few pieces of glass and food down below (which I didn't even know how to do) and changed one the settings so it doesn't beep incessantly. All of this was done within an hour. Anyway, these guys are nice, efficient, and cost effective, and I appreciate them going with the short-term repairs (vs pushing costlier parts replacement) as we're going to tear out all the appliance over the next few years.
