I do believe this man can cut hair. However when I went to this area looking for a neighboring barbershop, Ron lied to me and said that I was at the right shop and that he was my barber when he obviously wasn't. He then said that my barber worked there and that he'd give him the money. Afew minutes later I figured I was at the wrong shop. Ron lied to me although I said I was looking for suite 105 and he was 107. He literally said he was suite 105 when he wasn't. Kinda weird. read more

I had went in to this shop with a hair emergency. I didn't necessarily plan on cutting my hair but due to the damage I decided to go to a shop. I stumbled across Ron's and I explained my hair issue and the fact that I wanted to start over and he delivered. He was an incredible barber and overall great person to be around. I stuck with a specific barbershop within the Pasadena/Altadena area for many years due to comfortability but eventually grew tired of going there because I felt like I was robbing myself of a stress-free and professional environment where I don't have to wait a long time just to get a haircut and be surrounded by a filthy place of business. Make an appointment on a Friday at 5. Show up early and he tells me some bullshit about not paying him via Zelle. Next Tuesday I make an appointment at 4, no talk of payment beforehand. I show up about 10 minutes late due to traffic and he turns me down and proceeds to tell me has an appointment at 4:30. He only does appointments by the hour so this is also more bull. I've only been once, but I'm going back soon. I've mostly had my haircut by stylists, the last two I've had have been great. However, they are so expensive, I end up not getting my haircut that often. I usually end up dropping $70-80 including tip. I tried a barber in Eagle Rocks which was really cheap but they just wouldn't do anything that didn't look like I was on my way to Camp Pendleton. So, I thought I'd give TROY a try, and dang am I glad I did. He cut my hair the way I like it, and he charged me a reasonable fee. NOTE: They only take cash, so bring CASH. I dig the vibe. This may be the whitest sentence I'll ever write (and I'm a writer and golfer), but, here goes nothing: I felt like I was in an early Spike Lee movie. So I went back to my car and found 75 cents. I went back in and I explained that I have 14.75 and Ron said no so I don't go around asking for handouts TRUST, but come on 25cent. I am truly shocked at the behavior I experienced in this barber shop. This man was completely unsympathetic to a 5 year old foster child, who'd had a bad barber shop experience a couple months ago. A grown man cared nothing that the child was holding his breath and crossing both fingers during a shampoo. At least he had the right mind to"tap out" before picking up clippers. The shop was empty. I was hesitant to get my hair cut at all. I did my research, looked all over LA and decided to go local, what could it hurt right? I took a drive to the shop, it was only a few minutes away. I spoke to the gentleman in charge himself, told him my story, it's my first time and I'm nervous. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and He said ok. I swung by a couple of hours later, and it was worth the wait. This man has hands made of magic. He's gentle, very precise and very professional.
