Waitress friendly and for the most part efficient. Thus ends the best part of our first time visi5. Whistled to our table by the busboy.... rude. Shoehorned into a small corner table. Cold, undercooked eggs. Bland french toast, burnt hashbrowns. First biscuit in the biscuits and gravy was a hard as a hockey puck. Gravy had weird flavor and was poorly mixed and were overpowered with excessive garlic. Last few bites were overwhelmingly bad. We won't be back. read more

Tiny little place on West Main....would n oi t have noticed it driving by but a local friend wanted to meet there. The staff was very friendly even though we occupied the table way too long chatting. The food was fine though I would like the hash browns more golden brown than white. I also found the pancakes to have an odd aftertaste like buttermilk was used in the batter. Anyway I ate weed enough to be polite, enjoyed the coffee and the visit with an old friend. They do breakfasts and sandwiches. read more

Blueberry pancakes so good, you don't need syrup! A great down home cafe with freshly prepared food. The hash browns had the perfect seasoning and were deliciously buttery. The bacon was crispy and the CFS has bacon gravy! A must stop if you're in the area. read more

If you enjoy gathering where locals come for breakfast this is your place. Delicious food and reasonable portions. We had corned beef hash that was a unique recipe that included gravy. Dear Husband had a pancake breakfast. Super friendly and efficient staff and the owner was out and about greeting regulars and others. read more

I am not sure why this restaurant get's such good reviews, average at best. In my opinion the coffee was not drinkable and my BLT sandwich had two pieces of old bacon on it. When I placed my sandwich order I was assured by our nice waitress that the bacon was going to be fresh and cooked to order, it was neither. I don't recommend this restaurant and I am giving it two stars because the waitress was very good or else maybe one star. read more

My husband and I went to Ron's after being kicked out of Millstone for having a service animal. The waitresses were so compassionate and sweet. I was so embarrassed because I was crying from being discriminated against at the other restaurant. They made me feel so welcomed and before I left was was given the biggest hug. Thank you all for your love and support through our crazy embarrassing morning. I cant wait to move to Rapid and have breakfast there as much as possible. read more

Prices are good and the staff are friendly with great service. Depending on the time of day, pulling into or out of the location can be tricky. My husband & I are from Northern Minnesota. After a road trip through North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming & South Dakota, we passed through Rapid City and researched on Yelp where to get a bite to eat. Ron's Cafe had great reviews - so off we went to find it. It did not disappoint! From the friendly greeting by Ron himself and the whole staff- this is a friendly, family atmosphere. Food was great and cooked to order. We ordered a chicken fried steak breakfast and a cheeseburger meal. Both were excellent! Upon leaving, to our surprise, we found out our bill had been paid for! We can't guarantee your bill will be paid, but we do guarantee you will enjoy Ron's smiling personality and the home-cooked food! read more

We happened upon Ron's Cafe and were pleasantly surprised! The inside is beautifully decorated by none other than Ron himself. The menu has a great variety at decent prices. We enjoyed perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, bacon, French toast and a Mexican omelette made to order with sausage added. Ron and his staff are very warm and friendly. Went in expecting a so so place, but man was I wrong. Wife and we're heading back to the twin cities and we're hungry! After searching and searching for good restaurants we just said "why not?". The waitress which forgot her name(my bad) was very attentive and cheerful. Food was delicious, I mean it was just the right temperature and my taste buds were enjoying it. As we were leaving the cook which must be Ron said goodbye with a very cheerful face to us which was cool. Neither expensive or cheap, worth the price though. Would come back to Ron's. read more

A small restaurant, with friendly staff. Had an omelette with homemade corned beef hash, it was massive. The corned beef hash was not very good, lots of grizzle and fat. The potatoes in the corned beef hash were also not thoroughly cooked. So, ended up not eating most of the omelette. The food is ok, not anything to write home about. read more

Went there, for the first time, Sept. 2019, it was very busy, seating filled up as soon as there were openings. It is a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant, I do mean small,but comfortable. We had breakfast, the food was very, very good, good sized portions, cooked to perfection. Prices are reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. We will be returning, maybe for lunch next time. All the staff are friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this eatery. read more

One of the best hidden gems in Rapid City, Ron's has real home cooked food, not the usual instant just add water food like some of the others close by. We found this restaurant on Yelp and it is great. I had biscuits and gravy with eggs and bacon my husband had french toast eggs and ham. Really really good!!!! Gravy was made on site not from a can. This is a old school diner that deserves a Visit. Everything was scratch made and usually you see portion size over quality in this kind of place. Ron's on the other had reasonable portions and really great quality. It was really busy in a Monday morning with what felt like locals. I imagine it's packed out on the weekends.
