I'm from Colorado and have been wanting to visit Mt. Rushmore for some time. I decided to do so a few weeks ago. On my way to the monument, I decided to stop by and grab a quick bite to eat. Needless to say, I was quite impressed. Upon entry, I was told to find a table. This was pretty early, so there were many tables open. The interior was well designed and clean, and my order was taken quickly. I ordered their chicken fried steak, which came with several other foods. Compared to other meals I've had in this style, I was very happy with my meal and am glad to say it tasted incredible. read more

When in Keystone, find something else to eat. Pretty much all of the food in this wee town is tourist food, and this is no exception. I got an open faced Philly sandwich and this is what I got. A piece of bread on a plate, hamburger meat (not ribeye) on top of that with onions and peppers, and French fries piled up on top of that. All of this was covered in melted nacho cheese. It was heavy and filling, but not great for the price. Next time I'm in Keystone, I will find something else to eat. read more

Great service but absolutely nothing special about the food. We got there at about 9:30 am and got the dregs. They did start making more food while we were there but I was thoroughly unimpressed. Very salt & peppered food--eggs and hash browns. read more

We spent a couple days in the black hills with kids and grand kids. Went to Fat Sam's twice. Wish we found them sooner. Great choice of selections for the whole family. All the other restaurants only had hot dogs or chicken strips for the kids. Loved the selection! read more

Stopped by in August while Becky and I were in The Black Hills for Sturgis. We needed a Quick Lunch somewhere Cheaper than the Mount Rushmore Food. We did not have the Buffet, but Becky ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and I ordered the Fried Chicken Tenders, both with Fries. Becky though the lettuce had a few too many bones in it, but by Chicken was DELICIOUS AND JUICY! Probably the best chicken tenders in the State! If you need some juicy, salty, chicken on your trip, this could be the place! Ambience reminded me of the mess hall back in Goose Bay (and so did the latrines!) but it was worth if for the CHICKEN! read more

Got there late and had a buffet breakfast. Server appeared to be the owner and was nice. I was not expecting much to be honest but the food turned out ok. Loaded hash browns were great. Eggs were dry but we were there at 11:00am. They seemed to be real eggs though and I liked them. Sausage and bacon were good. Lots of fresh fruit and she let me have salad as well since it had already been set out. read more

Our food was okay, the buffet was really good according to some other people that I traveled with. The ladies are friendly. The food was a little bland and dry, that's our only complaint. You do pay at the counter and with only 2 workers + cook you will have to wait to pay; so be prepared when you stop here to be waiting a little bit. The ambiance felt like a legion. read more

Dry dry dry Had a club sandwich and after picking the chunks of lettuce off the sandwich tasted fine just very dry. Yes it had mayo but the meats were very dry. The gentleman next to me commented on his chicken sandwich being dry and didn't even finish his meal. He was not happy and said "That's a waste of $50 bucks" as he left the table. They were advertising buffalo burgers that day by the sign on the door. We were there for early lunch and they ran out. Appeared to be poorly thought out and managed. Food wasn't anything special and the home cooked meals advertised would be questionable at best by what was put on the plate. This is what was sent to my wife after she had posted a review. It shows you their staff/and or Owners character. Extremely offensive and slanderous. After this I feel right and assuming that anyone who does not give a good review is harassed by the owner and staff. Not how a business should be run. Being Vulgar and making accusations of abuse is unacceptable and petty. Honestly surprised that the Health Department has not been called on them. Food was atrocious and in no way was "home cooked" more like bought from Walmart in the freezer aisle and reheated. They also personally messaged me were just as offensive and calling me poor and that I should "go to McDonald's" . McDonalds would be better than this restaurant. The good reviews are clearly made by staff. Anyone who has been here would no that they are not true. The pictures even show one of the witnesses in a selfie. Which was the only kind and polite one on the floor. The one we had was entitled and extremely confrontational, would cut me off when I asked questions and even asked my wife if I purposely made a plate to have it thrown out, when the fact was that the food tasted bad and I went and made another plate without the same ingredients to be sure I would not be made sick. read more

We took a trip to the Black Hills from Wisconsin. Had previously picked this place out as a planned breakfast stop during our stay in near by Hill City. This place has 0 ambiance. Service was ok, though limited as it is buffet style. We went on a Sunday morning at about 9AM. There were no hash browns prepared, there were no country style scrambled eggs prepared , and only a couple of scoops of scrambled eggs. Once the Country style eggs did come out they were OK. They were completely out of sausage. They were out of chocolate milk. The biscuits and gravy were fine. The blueberry pancakes were dry, the bacon ran out while we were there. There were 3 other couples In the restaurant, and it was evident that none were pleased with the food quality or quantity. A couple sitting at a table next to us the gentleman asked the hostess the status of sausage, as there was none for the taking. He was advised it would be about 5 minutes, that the cooks are making some more. Several minutes had pass, no sausage was prepared. The customer inquired a second time and the host stated she would check with the cooks on the status of the breakfast sausage. She returned a minute later and apologized to the customer and told him that the restaurant is out of sausage. We will not eat at this restaurant in the future. BTW, we are typically 30% cash tippers at full service restaurants, and tip about 15% at buffet style restaurants. This place we tipped $We0. The $19 per person cost was way to high for the reasons stated above. read more

What a wonderful hidden gem!! The staff was so welcoming. The breakfast buffet has everything you could ever want and all of it is fresh!

Service was ok. The food was awful. $ 14 for a dried up piece of chicken on a tiny bun with lettuce tomato and onion. Pretty basic . I couldn't even finish it because it was so dry. read more
