After getting estimates from 6 roofing companies to replace our roof, we narrowed our selection to…read moretwo firms. After carefully evaluating the merits of each, including reading Yelp and other reviews, we ended up selecting Rapid Roofing to do the work, even though they were not the cheapest. They were chosen because of the warranty they were able to provide (GAF Golden Pledge), provided a discount on the middle tier shingle due to a promotion that was in effect at the time, and because of interactions with Lee Ehlers, their Sales Consultant, who did an excellent job explaining what we should expect to happen before, during and after the installation. On installation day, the roofing crew arrived on time, and did a great job protecting the outside (i.e., landscaping, whole home generator, central AC unit, windows, etc.) from flying shingles and other debris. Onsite foreman, Josiah, did a top notch job in supervising the roofing crew resulting in the work being done within 8 hours. We found very few nails on the ground and no other debris when they left, so they did a good job of cleaning up afterward. Additionally, even though a few window screens were damaged during the tear off process, Josiah had them replaced within 48 hours. About 2 months after the installation, we noticed siding around the chimney was damaged and called Rapid Roofing to address. Dale Climer, their Service Manager, ensured our concerns were addressed, which were cosmetic (caused no leaking) and the siding was replaced in a timely manner. Everyone at Rapid Roofing was very professional to work with including the roofing crew, and our overall experience has been excellent. We highly recommend Rapid Roofing to handle your roofing needs!

There was a misunderstanding regarding the insurance/payment process that ultimately left me owing an unexpected amount. I'm not writing this because I expected the company to absorb that cost afterwards, I understand misunderstandings happen. My disappointment comes from how I was treated when I tried to discuss it and if there was anything we could do since the misunderstanding was on both ends. Instead of anyone acknowledging that the situation was confusing or simply saying, "I'm sorry this happened," every person I spoke with became defensive and snippy. I understood it was a misunderstanding. I simply wanted someone to recognize my frustration and treat me with a little empathy. My basement window was also cracked during installation. But because it's my word against theirs, my representative didn't address it. I was so upset about owing thousands of dollars unexpectedly, I just let it go. In my experience, Rapid Roofing handled the conflict poorly. The roof itself looks great, but the customer service after the sale was disappointing.

I just checked with Michigan roofing codes and there is no such change in layers. Double layer is acceptable in all Michigan cities. I also checked Go To Roofing for verbiage. Posted on their site shows they do double layer roofing. I don't like being conned. I believed rep as being trustworthy. I did have an option but it wasn't given to me. I recently contacted Hector, the owner of Jimmy Roofing and asked for a big on reroofing a duplex in Northville and a roof repair on a 5-unit building I own next door to the duplex. Hector connected me with his son Keven. who came out and inspected the two jobs. He emailed me the bids and we proceeded from there. I was totally pleased during on my second experience with Jimmy Roofing and can't say enough about the communication between the company and myself. The service people who did the jobs as contracted arrived on time, worked efficiently and did everything as promised to my total satisfaction. Follow-up does not happen as promised. One morning prior to 7 a.m., I was awakened to the sound of my dogs barking insistently, only to find a truck full of building materials, and three strange men walking around my lawn. The owners son had forgotten to tell me materials would be delivered. The actual workers get 5 stars. The owner and son have earned one star. Thus, the average of 3 stars for this review. They were polite, timely, meticulously clean. They worked from sun up to sun down, barely taking any break. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I found the owners son to be quite difficult. This includes a remark that the son made about his (Mexican) workers that was quite derogatory and I was offended. After the work was completed, I had a gusher of a leak in the sunroom late one evening after the first rain. I called the next morning and was told they would come to repair the damages mid morning the following day. They failed to call or show up. I got up on a ladder and took photos, shocked by the sloppy workmanship I discovered. When I called the following day to inquire, I was rudely treated. I told the owner NOT to send the son back to my property. The following day the son arrived. I am now told that they have corrected the deficiencies, however I have zero confidence in these folks. I am considering paying a second company to do a full inspection to provide assurance that there are no more leaks and I will not have trouble down the road. Photos will be posted.
