Requested a estimate for a new roof from Mills Roofing and they were pretty timely and responding…read more Got a phone call within a couple of days, an inspection within a week or so and then spoke with the estimator shortly after that. They were polite and informative but unfortunately were not able to come to terms with my insurance adjuster due to a lack of sufficient information requested by the insurance company. Contacted another company through Yelp and do have an agreement. Just a heads up, their quote was right on target with my insurance company where Mills Roofing was significantly higher.

Based on their great reviews, I was excited to get an estimate from Mills Roofing. The bidding…read moreprocess was very thorough, consisting of photos, roofing 101 education on materials and process, an inspection and a detailed proposal. All great to that point! Unfortunately, their bid was a full $15,000-20,000 higher than literally any other bid I received (BEFORE any additional labor charges) which is honestly, complete insanity. The other 5 companies I got bids from were respected, highly reviewed business also -- it's not like I'm comparing Mills to unlicensed, under the table deals. And I'm just a normal residential homeowner, ~1400sqft of roof, not even like a giant industrial complex! For that reason alone Mills was immediately out of the running. I'm sure they do great work based on these reviews, but you'll certainly pay for it.

Summary: Amateur work at professional prices with poor communication and personal skills…read more I needed a gutter replaced and a downspout installed. I told them some roof work will need to be done to remove the old gutter since it is attached under the roof flashing. Price was high: $5805, but considering the roof work, I approved. They bent up the old roof flashing to take the old gutter off and left it. To replace the flashing, they wanted an additional $2700. Instead of installing the downspout along the wall, it was 2 feet away from one section of the house suspended in mid air and crooked. After complaining about the poor downspout installation, they redid it correctly, hence the two star rating instead of one. Paul, the person I dealt with, has an obvious disdain for customers. He called to tell me the work was done and wanted his check. It wasn't done and I started to explain why I thought this when he interrupted me and said "ITS DONE!" 10 minutes later workers showed up and continued working on the "done" project. Emailed Kim in the office and complained that Paul got angry with me when I said the project wasn't done. Paul called me shortly after and said he didn't appreciate me telling anyone that he got angry. He denied getting angry then blamed his anger on me for "arguing" that the project wasn't done. Paul refused to communicate any way except by phone. Red flag. I won't be using them again or recommend them.

While training at High Altitude Fitness in Incline Village, some random guy wearing a company shirt…read morewith obvious body image and self esteem issues kept following me around while I was doing my sets and decided to make a scene with me because he personally didn't like how I was racking my weights, even going so far as to say "we don't do that here" as if he owned the place or was important in any way (I still remember when I first started training). This is an extremely unprofessional way for a company representative to conduct himself, and has preemptively dissuaded me from considering their services. You never get a second chance to make a first impression, and for someone who clearly has nothing better to do outside of hanging out at a gym having such an issue with how a complete stranger does his workouts is very immature and not exactly the smartest move to make when in company attire. Even crazier is that my brief experience with this company seems to be on the tamer side compared to what others have experienced based on these reviews. If this is how a company rep treats a total stranger minding his own business, imagine how you as a customer would be treated.
