This is not one of the best rooftops in Chicago. Even if I hadn't had the below experience, in all 4 directions, you can only see the sides of buildings and the burbs. Do not recommend. My partners and I's anniversary was supposed to be a romantic summer evening on the roof of the wit. Instead both rooftop patios were booked for private parties (not announced on the booking or webpage). We were seated at an ugly table, no where near the windows, in a very loud middle ground between the 2 rooftop patios right next to the dj. Their drink menu is barely acceptable with only one cider option. Service was the bare minimum (as it's a hotel restaurant). Food was good but wasn't anything all that special especially for the price. Maybe I'll come back but with much lower expectations. read more

Stopped into roof on the wit to attend a day party last sunday. The energy of the staff was very off. The ladies walked around with very snooty attitudes. Not saying excuse me as if we were a bother being there. I've been there before but do not recall having any interaction with the female staff but this stood out to me on this visit. It's worth every penny for the ambience. Rooftop bar with a greenhouse feel and beautiful decor. Service was extremely Friendly but we did wait a bit for our orders. Quite the place on St. Patricks's Day weekend. The bar was open from 7am until early the next morning. Neat ambiance, I can only imagine it would be even more impressive in the summer. There was a DJ in one section with go go dancers dressed on theme. The bartender was great and made fabulous drinks (even though it was outrageously busy) on the other side of roof. I went at night real late for a drink and ended up wanting to sit down and eat. This spot does tables for $75 a person, unfortunately they were all reserved. Just a heads up that the drinks are more tax than the food. It's swanky and the crowd is great in there. The music is also great and the vibes were immaculate. I would say sitting upstairs aay from the bar area, was a bit secluded in which I felt our waiter forgot about us. Another favorite rooftop! I really do love how this rooftop have so many different type of rooms/sections with different aesthetics. The drinks are good and the food is delicious but of course with this location, it's a little pricey. I do think you get what you pay for but there are rooftops that may be a tad bit cheaper. There's a lot of parties and events that are hosted at this location so it's very popular in general. But come on any night of the week and you will still have a great time and enjoy great customer service. Stayed at the hotel for a work trip and was pleasantly surprised by the rooftop bar. With immensely tall ceilings and floor to ceiling windows, the golden hour vibe here is insane. The neon lights and vibes at night, create a whole different energy, taking the place from cocktail hour to party. They have a good number of tables and seating, with space for large parties at their booths. I thought the drinks were amazing, two nights in a row I had a Mezcal sour, which is my first time ever seeing that on a bar menu, and such a great combination. Their food was also really good, the truffle fries were delicious, and I ordered a musubi, which came out, and I thought it was a standard sushi roll, it looked so different from your traditional musubi, and tasted different too. But I loved their take on it and would totally recommend trying it out. The sliders were also really good, everything was a pretty good vibe and the service were very nice and attentive. Came here to enjoy an after work happy hour and loved it! We were a pretty big group but we were able to be seated fairly easily which was much appreciated. The drinks were really great! Had a wide variety and you'll instantly earn cool points for having a Penicillin on the menu. Service was good too and this spot is absolutely beautiful - I walked in and was so amazed. There is something special about dining on a rooftop. Open, airy and spacious. The day was perfect; sunshine all around adding to the already scenic views. Kendall, our server had the perfect personality for hosting. She made sure we always had everything we needed. She was able to give detailed answers about the menu and suggest great drinks. The brunch menu is quite extensive, so many great options, including vegan and vegetarian. They have thought of everything. Bottle service is available if you are interested in elevating your dining experience. We each ordered different items and agreed that everything was delicious. The star of the show however was the chicken, cheese and herb empanadas. We had to order another round of those. Which came out with our second drink. Timing could not have been more perfect. The live DJ was nice; not too loud. We were still able to converse without yelling. Our work schedules don't allow us to get together that often. The vibe was amazing during the day with a DJ and a nice Happy Hour. It was a definite after work unwind spot. It was a super warm day allowing for sunshine and a nice breeze from the retractable window. The evening was definitely more of a club chill vibe . Of course another great DJ, food and space for dancing. 2 bars and plenty of lounge area. Some nights are managed by a promoter but not during my stay. FRAUDULENT CHARGES ADDED AFTER DINNER ​We visited for a birthday dinner on Thursday, November 20, 2025. The meal itself was fine, and our original bill was $245.00, which already included the gratuity. I also left an additional cash tip. ​The major problem happened the next day. ​On Friday, November 21, 2025, an unauthorized $50.00 charge was posted to my credit card as a "cash tip" that I absolutely did not approve or leave. This is outright theft and credit card fraud. ​I immediately disputed this fraudulent $50 charge with my bank. ​It is completely unacceptable for a business to modify customer charges after they have left. I strongly urge anyone dining here to check their credit card statements carefully for unauthorized additions. What should have been a lovely evening was ruined by having to deal with the stress and inconvenience of financial dishonesty. ​I will never return. read more

The empanadas were super fresh and flavorful. I loved the pizza as well, the flavors were very balanced and I was told that the sliders and potatoes were great. I have been here twice now and both times were a good time! I recommend giving it a try. We ordered a Charcuterie Board, Wings, & sliders - all of it was tasty and good quality. Plus, one of my favorite things about Chicago is the views. And the ROOF has some of the best views in Chicago, plus plus it's nearby so much activities. Not only by activities but also by public transportation, very convenient. I have never stay at The Hotel downstairs but I'm sure it's a great time as well! The only down fall, I feel like the prices were kind of crazy. Like much more expensive than I was expecting, if I had to choose between this ROOF and somewhere nearby, I would consider somewhere nearby just because of the prices. The website has a big essay on "dress code" but everyone just walked in as they were, including track pants and shorts. The food was very ordinary but they charged A+ prices. Drinks were downright gross. The "lounge" isn't a rooftop how the hell si something a rooftop when the roof isn't open and you don't even have a view of anything? Came with reservations on a Saturday morning for brunch. Place wasn't very busy when we got there. The inside decor makes it clear the place is a club in the evening but the music was chill at the time we were there. They came for our drink order - I wanted coffee but was informed the coffee machine not working so I get any. That was pretty unfortunate there was not any other coffee options available for a brunch. I ended up getting a mimosa instead. For breakfast, I ended up getting the Roof breakfast. I got scrambled eggs, and they were a bit overcooked for my liking. The potatoes had a nice crunch to them. I got sausage instead of bacon and I enjoyed the links. We also split the blueberry lemon pancakes. The toppings were light and weren't nearly enough for the amount of pancakes there was. The pancakes themselves were cooked nicely. Shortly into our meal, the power went out in the building. They needed up opening up the doors to outside and we went out to enjoy the view. Being high up, it was nice to see the city from there. The waitress was kind as well and quick to help us. Overall, it was a very okay experience and meal. The breakfast dishes are pretty standard and limited in options. The Wit is located in the center of downtown and had a gorgeous view of the skyline from every direction. We had the California roll, truffle fries, and margherita pizza and some vibrant cocktails. When I say I had a great time with great food, music, people...that's literally what it was. I was at the brunch on the rooftop from 1pm-7pm on a Sunday lol. My friend and I were visiting out of town and heard about this spot from TikTok. Hip hop urban culture at its finest. Not use to seeing this type of vibe from where I'm from but loved it. There was a live DJ that played the whole time. We were at the bar. The venue was clean and looked amazing as you can see outside of Chicago downtown from the rooftop (indoors and out). The bartender definitely had a character on him. Straight hilarious but once you got to know him you knew he was cool, took awhile ;) Food was legit.
