My boyfriend loved his old fashioned. Delicious desserts! I loved the Mississippi Mud Pie, which is a vegan chocolate mousse and cake dessert with fresh raspberries. Every bite was perfection. My boyfriend really enjoyed his strawberry shortcake cheesecake too. Fantastic and attentive service. Plates are cleared promptly, waters refilled, and plenty of check ins. There is a 90 minute time limit for reservations. There was a paper on our table letting us know when time would be up. With a reservation, each person must order a beverage and food item. My wife ordered the Pineapple Paloma and the Wagyu Beef Ribs. The Paloma was $20, but it tasted weak. No one asked if we wanted water, and since I noticed a water pitcher at the bar, I assumed it was self-service. It wasn't until about 10 minutes after my wife received her drink that we were finally brought glasses of ice water. The Wagyu beef ribs were tender, and my wife liked that the sauce wasn't overly sweet. They were advertised as spicy, but they didn't have much of a kick. The onion rings that came with the meal were extremely hard. When I cut into one my wife gave me, half of it shot right off the plate. I ordered the Ribeye Steak Frites. It was interesting, I never had steak and fries slathered in gravy before. The dish had good flavor, but it just wasn't my personal preference. I did appreciate that they provided chopsticks. Food ehhh it's mixed emotions to be honest the burger was good but way too much sauce and onions over kill bacon was super good. Steak fries ehhh that sauce the put on the fries not a fan of it it was just a bit weird to be honest and too much of it also kills the taste of the fries. The short ribs are not that good and not enough meat on them but more fat on them. The shrimp cocktail was good though not bad. Not told when I made a reservation but we had walked a good distance so of course we stayed. Our server was nice and accommodating, we were sat a cute low top. We ordered truffle fries and sticky toffee pudding a round of cocktails. I ordered the Smoke Show, because they were out of Bad Bunny. The drinks are so good, super flavorful and had the right amount of booze to keep us warm. Okay now the food, we were full from dinner so our light bites were perfect. The crips were crisp and salty and had the right amount of truffle that black garlic aioli is insane and the sticky toffee pudding reminded me of London. I found about the rooftop from TikTok. I pre booked my reservation a few weeks out before my trip. The rooftop was nicely decorated with flowers. It was very pretty. I went after 4pm & it was incredibly warm, & the sun was beaming straight at my face. I was a sweaty mess, and had to block the sun with their menu. I wish they would have had umbrellas or some shaded seating options. My server Ruben was very polite & friendly. He was very helpful with his suggestions. I ordered the purple rain cocktail. It was light & refreshing. Not too sweet or strong. I had to grab one drink and leave because it was way too hot. Please note, for table reservations, you have to order food which I wasn't aware of. If I go back, I'll make sure to have an appetite & go in the evening to experience a better vibe with twilight views. One star for the service. When I went to the rooftop bar I ordered a drink that tasted pretty good. However, after I ordered my drink and looked at the view, I went back to the bar to ask for a few napkins because my drink spilled all over me... there were about four bartenders at the bar and not one of them stopped, turned their head or payed any attention to my existence RIGHT in front of them. It took about two or three minutes trying to get their help until someone came up to me and brought me napkins. Mind you, there was no other customer at the bar at the time either. Just me. The server struggled at taking my drink order, she came back twice to inform me they no longer had the beer I wanted and I updated my order and she brought a different beer than I ordered. Right across from the trump tower and towering over the Chicago River and lake. Can see this place as a fun hang out for sure. It was quite crowded but we were lucky enough to get a table which helped prevent us from being slightly over stimulated by the crowd. Cocktails are $20 each and come in a small glass, I had two and they weren't strong either. The scenery really carries the weight of this review. The view was incredible and you can get a good taste of it even from the standing room only area. We waited about 30 minutes for a table of 6 on a Saturday during brunch. The total was $200 for 6 people not including all of the drinks. I ordered the tiramisu French toast and definitely should have passed on that and ordered something different. It was way too indulgent, with too much chocolate and mascarpone. This rooftop is simply awesome. Beautiful view of downtown Chicago skyline. You're able to take great photos and listen to nice music. The inside of the hotel is really gorgeous too. Very classy and spacious. The dining area definitely is perfect for a weekend brunch event or simply just grab a cocktail. I do think $20/ a cocktail is steep but I guess that's the cost of living downtown. I choose to partake in the loco moco Hawaiian grind dish and it was incredibly salty and greasy. After a couple of bites, it looses it Spark. It just becomes bland. The jalapeño popper drip was tasty. I'd order that again. I think the hotel and rooftop are pretty if you're interested in being outside and you're interested in good photos. For food and drinks - I would think again if you're willing to spend the money. You get some incredible city views, so it's one of those spots you probably want to check out once just for the experience. That said, the drinks are very pricey. I get the whole "don't throw it off the roof" thing, but when you're paying around $25 for a cocktail, you kind of expect it to come in an actual glass, and it wasn't even a big pour. Overall, it's a touristy spot worth visiting once for the views and a photo op, but probably not somewhere I'd go back for drinks. read more

The two things that draws down my rating here are: 1. Overprices cocktails. $20 for a drink is pushing it if you're not a specialty cocktail place that use craft ingredients and top-shelf spirits. 2. You NEVER put crushed ice in an Old Fashioned. Just never. That is an abomination and it ends up watered down. The servers graced the rooftop with such decorum while their etiquette was clearly normalized in such an environment. The vibe was spectacular! My daughter and I attended LH Rooftop on a Sunday Afternoon with reservations for 11am. It was a gorgeous afternoon while being graced with such outstanding hospitality from the LH Rooftop staff. We were seated smack dab in the middle with views from either sides. My kid was speechless of the views and blown away from being so high up while eating. Hahah! It seemed impossible for her.
