Great summertime Chi Rooftop Happy Hour! Beautiful rooftop with indoor and outdoor dining. A few shaded areas with couches and high top seats. Great variety on happy with with bites and drinks. Wagyu Sliders 10/10: Chefs kiss! Ordered per slider, trust me get at least 2! Salmon Dry Miso: 10/10 great flavor and fresh Brussels: 10/10 nice and crispy. Not soggy. Great flavor. Will be back for great views, good and service any time!!

I have been craving the yellowtail from Nobu for weeeeeks, so imagine my surprise when I found out they host happy hour?! I've been in a "treat yo self" mood lately so I got more than that. Let's dig in! Started with the Salmon Dry Miso and omg it melts in your mouth. There's a crispy garlic on top too which just kicks it up a notch. I have no idea what that amazing citrusy sauce was that the salmon sat in, but I about licked the bowl clean. Fire. Next up is the rock shrimp tempura. Perfectly battered and creamy. It's so light and packs really good flavor. There's is also some type of citrus flavor. I don't know if that's the lettuce underneath with dressing or what, but I enjoyed it! Literally don't know if the lettuce underneath the shrimp was decorative lol because I ate it all! Wagyu slider was a hit. I'm not a burger girl, but they did this well. Loved the bun. It was like a mini crispy pancake and the slider itself had mushrooms and fried onions on it. Probably should've ordered one more of these. Then out came the yellowtail!! The reason I'm here and it did not disappoint. I scarfed it down! Bae said it's like walking on a cloud lol it is pretty light and just wow. Now I know why I've been craving for weeks. The spicy tuna crispy rice was meh. Could've done without for sure. Just lacked flavor and I could've ordered more yellowtail for that. Had the Grapefruit on the Rocks as a drink, and I like it. Not in love but that's okay, happy I tried it. It's very tart... and I know it's grapefruit, but it's more tart than refreshing (which is how it was described). I also had the lychee martini and this was much better! This won't be my last time here. Rooftop vibes, chill music and beautiful views! Shout out to the attentive staff making sure we got last call before happy hour ended.

Craving bites with a view? Head up to Nobu Rooftop in Chicago for a gorgeous sunset and bites that hits every craving. We enjoyed the Wagyu Sliders, the chicken wings and the salmon maki roll. Everything was tasty. Was a great way to end our night! Service: 4.5/5 Food: 4/5 Atmosphere: 5/5

Wanted to find a place to celebrate a special occasion and went to book Nobu but saw there was a rooftop option, so decided to go for it while the weather was still decent. Music was actually great. It's definitely more of a bar and lounge hang out type vibe. Food and flavors were good but didn't really feel too elevated, probably because of the ambiance too. Either way, still was a nice place to celebrate something special. Video of the view posted.

I sat at the rooftop on my birthday in June. The weather was very windy and they proceeded to sit us outside, which was a little confusing. Everything was blowing all over the place and peoples glasses were breaking. It was also a little hard to get our servers attention. However, basing this review on the food, I can't say I was disappointed. The crispy rice with both the spicy tuna and the avocado were delicious. My favorite was the rock shrimp. The sauce really wasn't that spicy, and I'm someone who's not a big fan of spice. I got it on the side which made it easier to tolerate. The sushi was fresh and delicious and the lychee martini was remarkable! It was a very a high price point for the amount of food, totaling around $230- so this meal is definitely a treat for the average person. I do think it worth trying at least once if you could afford it!

Ok here's the thing, the food we had there was excellent, but they were out of multiple items! It's frustrating to go out of your way to go somewhere for a special occasion and be told that all of the restaurants most popular items weren't available!! Loved the drinks and would have ordered more if we had had a more enjoyable experience. Side note it was our anniversary, which we put on the reservation, and it would have been nice to have some kind of acknowledgment. Not expecting sparklers but just something from what I thought would be a high end experience. Rooftop was beautiful but the ambiance was ruined by a party complaining that we were sat too close to their private party area. TLDR; would want to go back to try the out of stock items but the overall experience tells me we won't be back for a while....

Nobu Rooftop during the warmer months is a fantastic place from which to enjoy the Chicago skyline. Surprisingly the drinks are better than a year ago, though I would not say this is the best cocktail bar. To me, the sushi items stand out more than the other food items, which are just okay. In my opinion you're paying a premium for the vibes and views. Service is typically great. However, this past time I was asked to wait nearly 30 minutes despite having a reservation, which I found unprofessional.

Rooftop at Nobu is a great spot for casual drinks and bites all while having a nice view of the city! I'd recommend ordering to share so you can try more things! The food was very good but you can def find food just as good or even better for 1/2 the price. It's more for the vibes. The dishes that stood out to me the most were the truffle fries which were a special at the time, and their infamous spicy tuna crispy rice. I also ordered their yellowtail nigiri and it was so soft! I'd love to come back and dine in the actual restaurant for a special occasion!

The rooftop was absolutely amazing! The star of the show had to be the Brussels, which I would completely recommend! We went during happy hour, so we were able to try several items. If I were to come back, I would get the fries the Wagyu sliders, and the Brussels. I would skip the mini taco And probably the dumplings as well. Service was great and I would just say be prepared to spend a pretty penny, and it would not be a place that I would come very hungry as the portions are rather small

Great vibes on this rooftop! We came at the tail end of brunch on Sunday and had basically the whole place to ourselves - we didn't realize we were going into happy hour time (last call for brunch is 245 and happy hour is from 3-5) so we actually lucked out. Service was 10/10 - everyone was so kind and patient with us even with that transition period. Food was enjoyable although didn't blow me away - would recommend the tuna crispy rice and okra for sure, wagyu sliders and chicken karage were a little basic. Wouldn't come just for the food but fun place to hang with friends!

MUST TRY! This was an amazing experience. I came here for brunch with some friends on an early September afternoon. The weather was slightly cool, but the sun was beaming. We made a reservation ahead of time, and the host sat us right away. The view from the rooftop is incredible. The service is impeccable. Because it was a little chilly, the staff turned on the heat lamps, and it was so cozy on the rooftop. We ordered various items to share, and every single thing we ate was delicious. Every drink I ordered was delightful. I look forward to going back ASAP!

One side has great views and the other side meh! Food was delish but felt like expensive apps. Pina Martini might be a new favorite

Compared to other nobus this place is a joke. Bad service, servers are just fine. Food is just ok. So many other better places to spend your money at.

It was dimly lit inside and there was a guitarist playing music. We decided to do the 3 course Prince Geja's combination. The first course included swiss Gruyère cheese fondue with assorted breads, vegetables and fruits. After that they brought out Prince Geja's combination which was beef, lobster tail, shrimp, chicken breast, and sea scallops which you were able to cook in the boiling hot broth. I really liked how there was 8 different side sauces brought out so you could add some more flavor to the meat and seafood. The last course was chocolate fondue served with marshmellows and a side of fire. It was as if you were making smores because it also came with some graham cracker sprinkles. It also came with some fruits to dip into the chocolate fondue as well. The service was great. It was nice they had a coat check. A guitarist sits somewhere against a brick wall and plays music lightly but energetically. Service is friendly from start to finish and smiles are on everyone's faces. The menu is pretty easy to understand. You can get a three-course meal, or you can get each entree à la carte. You have two fondue candles in front of you, one for the cheese and dessert, and the other for the oil. We chose the three-course meal, and it was delightful. We started with the cheese appetizer. You get a basket of bread and fruit and we chose the seasonal cheese to dip. The oil for our meat was then left to heat, and we received a massive platter of veggies and meats for our main course. We chose the option for all selections of meat and seafood. After trying all the meats, I would opt for the lobster and shrimp. You can also substitute the oil for a broth. I would like to try the broth for next time. In one of the shakers, Gejas makes their own meat spice mix. It's recommended to put on the meats and even the desserts. It's a mix of tangy and savory and was a great compliment to the meal. We then chose the seasonal dessert, a white chocolate with vanilla cookies. Fruit, marshmallows, and churros to dip. We were so full by the time dessert came, but we enjoyed a few bites and took it home. The three-course meal, with five types of meat, came with about 10 pieces of meat. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but it truly is, with the apps, veggies, etc, your stomach will be full when you walk out of here. They also start the entire course with a mixed salad (so technically it's a four-course meal). It was very fairly priced, as well. Initially looking at the prices, you may think it's expensive, but it truly is a value with the amount of food they serve. This was rated as most romatic restaurant in Chicago. Its ambiance gives you the romantic feel, the guitarist adds to the atmosphere, and the staff is professional and friendly. This really was a great place and we enjoyed our time and meal.

I really wanted to like it; this was a nine-year anniversary dinner. The restaurant felt a bit bare and sterile, I think I was maybe expecting a little more decor on the table for a Michelin star restaurant. To echo several of the reviews below, the salad was awkward to share and scanty, the soup was good but the bread served with it felt like an afterthought, the sturgeon wasn't anything special though the sauce was quite good, and we are pretty sure the cut of beef was not wagyu or if it was it was not cooked the right way. All of the food was presented tastefully with meticulous attention to detail. The salad is brought out as a shared dish, which is potentially a bit awkward. Not a problem since I was dining with my husband, but I would have preferred my own salad if I was with a less familiar party. The silverware and dishes were works of art in and of themselves, but our table was scratched up considerably. My dessert was presented very creatively - although my husband's was much more straightforward. Dessert was an optional add-in, so a separate bill was brought out for this at the end. I'd never been to Willow Room and liked that they had a four course dinner menu, with items I liked. I was able to make a reservation for a Saturday night at 8:15pm. PARKING Parking on Halsted on a Saturday night can be a nightmare, and it did take a minute to find street parking. North of the 1800 block is busier because there are several restaurants within a two block radius. Side streets are permit parking after 6pm. Meters on Halsted are $2.50/hr. ATMOSPHERE Willow Room was pretty packed. We had a reservation for 8:15pm and my party of two was seated right away. The restaurant features a full bar, dim lighting and is nice and roomy. They have banquette seating around the perimeter, in addition to tables in the middle. SERVICE Our server, who was very nice and accommodating during our dining experience, came by and gave us our menu's. I had already decided on the RW menu and after review, my friend was interested in the Beef Wellington (not on RW menu). Our server informed us that normally the whole table had to order off of the RW menu if one person does, but said she would check with the kitchen since this was the last day of RW. Luckily, we were able to proceed with ordering from different menu's. FOOD I ordered a raspberry Cosmopolitan. I'm a Riesling/Moscato girlie, but I tasted the Riesling and didn't like it. RW dinner was priced at $60. I ordered: First Course: Caesar Salad (Typical salad, was good) Second Course: Mussels (Tasted fine, came with a baguette) Third Course: Short Rib (Could've been slightly more tender and better seasoned. I've definitely had better. Wouldn't order again.) Fourth Course: Orange Ricotta Donuts (Donuts were very good. Three were served, a few more would have been more filling.) My friend ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and: Truffle Fries (Fries were very tasty. I would order again if I went back.) Beef Wellington (The breading was buttery and very good. The beef could've been more seasoned. I wouldn't order.) Key Lime Pie (Was not sweet and had no taste. When our server came back and saw it was uneaten, she offered to take it off the bill. It should be removed from the menu altogether.) The busboys and server were very attentive. Our water glasses were always filled. OVERALL The atmosphere was nice, our server was great. Of all the food we ordered, I would order the truffle fries and Cosmopolitan again. I did leave full and did take my leftover Short Rib to go. Main dishes needed more seasoning.
