My experience with Rooms To Go was the most frustrating I've ever had with a company. It should have been simple and quick to buy one tv console. But when you receive your item with extensive damage, you are in for weeks, that turn into months, of a run around. The customer support staff are friendly, but they struggle with providing results. They continued to blame the 3rd party manufacturer that they use. But as a customer, I'm dealing with Rooms To Go, and I shouldn't get caught in the middle of s supply chain issue. I bought the console as a Christmas present on December 10th, and after a dozen phone calls, on February 2nd, with still no replacement, I finally asked for a refund! I don't know how many more similar bad reviews this company can afford to get before they lose more customers. read more

Ordered a sofa and chair to be shipped direct from vendor. They were supposed to be delivered in less than a week. The chair was thrown on my front porch with no warning by UPS. After waiting another week to get the sofa, I called store twice and customer service twice they informed me they had no idea when I would get it and could not track it. Yelp should make it so that people can leave zero star for a review. Rooms To Go sales associates are deceitful and unapologetic when they make mistakes. I came in wanting to look at some bar stools for my house and was told it was not available in stores as it was an online only product. The sales associate told us he can order them for us and have it delivered for free. I asked a few questions before agreeing to purchase $400 stools that I've never seen in real life, because returning furniture is no easy task, and I did not want to get hit with hidden fees if we needed to return them. He told me that they would send someone out to pick up the stools if I didn't like them when I asked. The service is completely free with my purchase. When my boyfriend and I had asked how long we'd have to initiate a return, he assured us we would have 1-2 weeks to return the stools. Just give them a call and they'll have someone come pick them up for us he said! I was iffy because he didn't give us an exact timeframe for the return as no store will give you "1-2 weeks". When I had pressed again for return instructions and timeframe, he kind of brushed it off and said he would give me a number to contact after. But given that he was an older gentleman, I didn't want to make it difficult for him and figured I would return it within a week anyways so it was fine. That was my mistake. We left the store and about 20 minutes later I received a call from him. He told me that I will need to return the stools within 48 hours of delivery or I won't be able to return them at all????? He never apologized or mentioned how 20 minutes earlier he had told us we'd have 1-2 weeks to return the stools, not 2 days. He made it seem like it was a courtesy call to inform me something I hadn't asked. I told him it was fine and thanked him for the call. This was my second mistake. I should have cancelled the order right then and there. Fast forward to the day after the delivery day. I get a call from the sales team/delivery team telling me I had 48 hours to return. I ensure them I already knew and would like to initiate a return. They tell me I am subject to a 10% delivery pick up fee. I am flabbergasted. I explained that the sales associate told me there would be no fee for the return and they kept putting me on hold before transferring me to the store. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told he was busy on the floor and someone would call me back. They had the sales person call me and when I tried to tell him I would like to return the stools he had rudely said " I told you to return them within 48 hours did you not return within 48 hours?!" I assured him that I am within the timeframe but I have no idea where to start the process. He cuts me off and tells me he will go talk to his manager and that he will call me back. I get a call from someone who is not him or the manager, telling me I can start a return for a 10% fee or take it to the warehouse myself which is almost an hour away from me. I once again explain to him that I was told there would be no fee and they would send someone out to pick up my return. He told me that the SA had confirmed my story but that he was just misinformed. No apology and he did not offer to extend the return timeframe or anything to make things right. So we bought a twin bunk over a full bed set with a bunkie board for the full bed! So now it has been about a month an last night we heard the full bed make a pop sound. So, we checked it out today and low and behold we found that the foot part of the bunkie board was broke (wtf). There is literally no weight down there period. Before he handed it to me , he quickly clicked two small boxes near the signature line . As I went to sign, I read ehe small print on the boxes that HE CLICKED ON FOR ME--without EVER ASKING ME. One box was to accept the optional insurance, which I never said I wanted , which he never asked me about . So I called him out and asked him why he clicked that when he never even asked me . He got very flustered and went to see his manager to take it off. When he returned I asked to talk to the store manager and ask if this is typical for how business is handled at this store every day . so far I am very unhappy with rooms to go. The bed I got is VERY VERY firm which was not the case of the one I laid on in the store. In fact, I was told I was laying on a medium firm mattress. The one I got is rated FIRM per the SKU description online. I think the wrong matteress was written up on the order. Separately the delivery that we pay good money for was horrible. No one spoke English and did not understand anything I asked them to do. I was keeping the old mattress and told them that several times and where to leave it. They, however, proceeded to carry it out the front door until I stopped them. Then they left all the mattress shrink wrapping and plastic straps all over the floor in my bedroom and left. I caught them and told them to pick it up. They did that is a very very PARTIAL way - definitely left a mess on the floor. Rooms to go is all FRAUD! They have a complete and full payment for my purchase but have failed to deliver my purchase as promised. They have told me on three separate occasions and dates that my purchase would be delivered. I NEVER give bad reviews! This is literally the 2nd poor review I've ever given for anything. My family and I have been shopping with rooms to go for decades.! I've furnished both homes and businesses with them. However, this most recent experiences with the Grapevine store has been nothing short of a disaster. I ordered my items with a Sales Rep " Patrick ". Patrick was very nice and I placed my order with a rep to ensure nothing went wrong. I located a furniture set that I liked more after my original order so when my items were delivered I arranged with Patrick to only keep the mattress and mattress board from my order and he would set a delivery date for the furniture set I switched to. I was told my furniture would be delivered on March 2, wow. I confirmed the delivery date and time window. I took the day off work to be available. Nothing every came. I reached out to customer service. They had no order pending for me and I had no idea what I was talking about. I reached out to Patrick, my sales rep who no longer even record our conversation a month later. After screenshot Ing him our prior messages and reminding him who I was, he told me he would begin to work on a resolve. He got the furniture we ordered, but unfortunately this may I would need to wait another month until April 2 to get my furniture delivered. All the while I'm sleeping on a mattress on the floor as a grown man after I move across country and show Rooms To Go to make this transition smoother. To add insult to injury, the days leading up until April 2 I confirmed my delivery date twice. However, I didn't think it was odd that they did not say the delivery time like the previous order that never showed. I wake up around 9:45 AM on April 2 and find that I missed a call from Rooms To Go at 8:50 in the morning. I called the number back and I was informed that Rooms To Go had been at my door already and left with my furniture. There is no way they'll be able to come back or assist. The order is closed, I will not be able to find out when they can reschedule delivery until Tuesday of next week. I spoke with Sara Sater ( a manager at the customer service call center). Sarah told me that she would look into see what else she could do to see if the delivery drivers can turn around. However, she refused to let me speak to anyone else and management told me that she would not transfer me to anyone above her. I expressed my displeasure as I felt Sarah was out of place for telling me shewas not even willing to pass a message along that I wanted to speak to her manager. At this time Its been 2 months without furniture. I have left a review with The Better Business Bureau and am awaiting a returned call from store manager Scott Peterson. It is unfortunate I such a long-term and loyal customer that continuously chooses Rooms To Go to report that I have been handled in this way. I just purchased my sectional from Rooms to Go (online ultimately) but visited the Grapevine store twice to see things in person. They did have quite a few sectionals to choose from, though a lot of them were pretty pricey. It seems like the manufacturers like to discontinue different fabric color options every so often because the color I had seen one week prior was no longer available. The color I chose was very similar and I wasn't too picky about it, but just something to lookout for. Overall, I'm very satisfied with what I bought and we received excellent customer service from Kent and Martin. read more

The answer I'm receiving from corporate is they can't give me something that isn't in stock, I will have to wait another 2 weeks, they seem to be ignoring my request to send me the floor model off the showroom floor and after multiple emails the best I'm getting offered is $99 delivery fee refunded and the beyond reasonable agreement that I am entitled to a full refund If I were to cancel at this point. ( Company policy is to keep 20% when a customer cancels; but in my case they are at fault for breaching the contract when they failed to deliver). If I cancel I'm out the time, money and energy and still don't have a couch. She asked if she could assist me, got a little info about what I was looking for and then went straight to it. A good product does not make up for bad delivery service and follow up with the store management to resolve our dilemma. We purchased a loveseat that was perfect for us. Just what we needed for the downsized apartment that we had moved into across for the Rooms to Go Store at Grapevine Mills Mall. My husband and I found the loveseat of our choice without any assistance until a very busy salesperson (Patrick) came to our rescue. He took the time to provide excellent information and advice when we were trying to decide between 3 different loveseats. We were very pleased with his professionalism, knowledge and completeness in handling our purchase and getting us the delivery dates with information about cancellations, refund and delivery timeframe. We had to wait 2 weeks from purchase date for our loveseat to be delivered but because of our repore with the salesman Patrick and the product that we selected, we were willing to wait without looking at another store location. After two weeks of waiting, we got a text two days before stating the loveseat would be delivered on the scheduled delivery day between 1-5pm. However, on the delivery day we get a text from the delivery driver stating they were 3 minutes out. (Most services get at least 30 minutes notice) but we were prepared anyway. After waiting for over 3 hours for the delivery promised within the next 3 minutes, when we were able to contact the store only to be told, that delivery was not made because the drop off was refused. This is not less than a blatant lie! Who pays cash for a product, makes arrangement to be available an hour before delivery and then refuses delivery and later follows up at the store inquiring about why the delivery was not made? The Store manager (Nelson), could only say he would have to wait for the driver's statement, and make an effort to reschedule the delivery three days later. He promised to contact us, but we never get a call from him. He scheduled a delivery 2 weeks later from the missed delivery day when we followed up at the store, since we could not get satisfaction via phone calls. Our sales person Patrick was never given the information that our delivery was not made and when we left messages for him to call us. He was never given those messages, even when we can into the store and left our personal business card with other sales personnel and store management. We were willing to get "our own delivery pick up" but was informed that 'our purchased loveseat' was not available (lost in the warehouse system) and would we have to wait another two weeks before another delivery was possible. Scott the manager passed this mishandled situation for resolution to Nelson (an acting manager but in truth just another salesperson, who is the worse representative for management we have met in my 45 years of working for a corporation and state agencies. Rooms to Go should know Nelson is not interested in resolving an mishandled delivery but only in alibiing for the shoddy delivery by the third party. He became flustered because we wanted to get our 'already paid for loveseat' delivered, answer our inquiries about the location of the loveseat and is this the practice of the delivery service. He was not interested in getting us our product but just getting us our refund without offering a satisfactory response. Our belief is that he wanted to hurt the salesperson's sale, if he was not willing to let us speak with Patrick so he could possibly troubleshoot or handle our concerns. read more

Post from my sister: Our sales associate was Richard at the Grapevine Rooms to Go location. My husband and I were looking for either a new bedroom set or living room set since we were moving into a new apartment. Richard was very kind and helpful during the process, and while we were checking out, I inquired about their refund/return policy. He said that once it is delivered, there are no returns BUT he immediately lowered his voice and told us that a lot of the time, they will approve returns/refunds depending on the circumstances and to keep the customers happy. Fast forward a few days later after we moved on the weekend of the 15th - I took a pregnancy test and found out I was pregnant. We had NO idea. After getting some blood work done and a sonogram, I find out I am nearly 12 weeks pregnant with our 1st child! We are so excited and shocked! I called the store's corporate office first (wasn't sure who could authorize a refund), and they told me that the store manager and the sales associate can authorize a refund. I then called the store and asked for Richard. They said he was working later that day, and I asked that he give me a call back. Never got a call back. Next day, I called again while Richard was at work. I spoke to him and told him that these were extenuating circumstances and I desperately needed the money for the new addition to our family. He said he had no way of giving me a refund (corporate told me differently). I asked if we could speak to his store manager since the manager was another authorized person to give a refund. Richard told me the manager was not in that day, but he and the manager can call back the next day. Next day rolls around, and we have no phone call back. I called the next day, and they transferred me to Richard...was left on hold and finally hung up. Today, my husband calls and got a hold of the store manager. He explained everything to her, and she flat out denied him. Only said we can exchange for a different mattress of equal or greater value (doesn't help us at all). She wouldn't let us even return the bed frame, or the adjustable base, or the mattress...literally did nothing at all. My husband said she offered no sympathy or understanding over the phone - did not seem to care in the slightest about this HUGE life change. I would ask that Richard and all the other sales associates NEVER lower their voice and give hope of refund/return when there is none. Very misleading - if a new baby is not extenuating circumstances, then I do not know what is. I think of all the wasted time with phone calls and waiting for them to never call us back was ridiculous. I even told Richard that I would love to buy new kid furniture and future purchases from him at Rooms to Go because we did love the buying experience - we just couldn't possibly afford to pay for this bed right now. Now my husband and I are out of thousands of dollars that would pay for the medical bills we are about to incur. We're thinking of selling the furniture and HOPEFULLY getting back at least half of what we paid. Just something, anything to help out. They let you know that morning approximate delivery time. Our delivery was pushed from 3pm to 4,5 6, to 7 then we were told at 7 that truck was on the way. At 8pm same thing...truck was on the way. So after being on hold to talk to someone for over an hour they referred me to the store. The store referred me to customer service. The sales agents don't tell you about the 20% in store credit when cancelling a purchase. The person on the phone at the store was rude when she said "it was on your paper" excuse me my paperwork is so light itsvhard to read because the sales agent was too lazy to refill a printer. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. You walk-in with any requests from something you saw on the website and the whole staff has this reaction of "if its not here, its not my problem". Extremely rude and unwilling to help the customer with their needs. read more

I did not have a bad experience at the store. In fact, friendly and knowledgeable. There was a small detail with which the salesperson was wrong - but all in all a good experience. The negative came with Customer Service. I called them and was on hold more than 15 minutes two times. Third time I called, waited 10 minutes and left my number for a call back. A day later, no callback. I emailed the corporate customer service and it took 6 hours to get a reply that actually needed nothing but to learn why the phone situation was not working. The rep asked for the order number. Sent it, but I guess it was the end of their business day. The customer service is the major negative. Wonder what would happen if you really had an issue or had to reschedule a delivery or the like. read more

Received a table without brackets. Told us to call the store, which we did and they referred us to the customer service line and waited 47 minutes to speak to someone who told us that they are having the brackets overnighted to us. That was a week ago! Nothing!!! read more

Really bad and dishonest! I wish I had negative stars We bought a brand new bed frame in January of 2016. We moved from our apartment to a new house in November 2016. It is still under the 1 year warranty. While installation the technicians used power tools to drill the screws and damaged the threading. So when the movers came by they could not dis-assemble the bed. So I had the rest of the apartment moved and called rooms to go and they said they will send a technician to take a look. Rooms to go sent the technical (Deonta Combs) to take a look and he confirmed that the screw's/threading were damaged I asked him to put that in his report which he said he will but did not (I got to know this in a later call to customer service). Then I called a few days later Anthony from customer care said he can't help since anything could have caused the damage in the 10 -11 months that the bed was at the apartment and there is no evidence that this happened in the initial installation, implying I might have tampered it. As if people just keep checking on the installed furniture. He said the technician put in notes customer preference and fixed the furniture, which is entirely false. So now I have to hire another mover to bring the bed back to my house and assemble the damaged bed, keeping in mind that the bed is still under warranty. Never buying from Rooms to go again! We bought what we were told was a leather living room set from the Grapevine Mills location. We couldn't believe it when we noticed the "leather" peeling off the love seat. We talked to the store manager in person, who looked up our account and assured us we were still under warranty. However, he told us we'd need to contact customer service to resolve the problem. He said if we didn't receive a satisfactory answer from customer service we could go back to him and he'd help us. We thought this process was odd, but did as we were told. We received an answer from customer service via email, telling us we were not under warranty (we saw the paperwork and knew this was incorrect) but we could still send photos of the damage. We were then told they would extend us a "courtesy" and allow us to exchange the set for something else because it's been discontinued, but would need to pay another delivery fee and make up any difference in price. They sold us defective merchandise and now we'd need to pay another $150 delivery fee?? We called the store manager back, but he told us there was nothing more he could do. He also told us that we'd need to purchase another warranty with the new set. So after everything, we'll need to add quite a bit of additional money toward this "exchange". The manager also told us that there's a known issue with this "microfiber" leather (whatever the heck that is) and we should have "Googled" it. We said the salesman should have told us about the issue when he was trying to sell us furniture. Rooms to Go obviously knowingly sells defective merchandise and does not stand by either their warranty or their "satisfaction guarantee". read more

We bought a Loveseat from the Grapevine store. So far so good. But then the delivery debacle. Scheduled to deliver on Thursday 2:00-6:00. They give you a 4 hour window. Had to take a day off work for the delivery. The company they use for delivery is JB Hunt. Waited and waited. No delivery. We're told any number of things including there's 4 deliveries ahead of you, the driver's in Grapevine already. At 9:00 we rescheduled for the following day 3:00-7:00. No delivery again and this time the driver can't be found and hasn't checked in since 1:00. Rescheduled again for today 8:00-12:00. Still waiting. There is no freaking way we will ever buy from Rooms To Go again. If I could have posted this review without the one star rating, I would have. read more

Our beef isn't with the table we bought. It's PERFECT for what we needed it for. We remodeled our kitchen and the breakfast area space had shrunk so the existing table was too big. We went to 3 other stores and they either didn't have anything smaller than 42" (the guy at Stacy's kept showing us stuff bigger than what we wanted) or the table wasn't what we wanted OR was MUCH too expensive (The Dump). So when David at RtG LISTENED to us, he showed us 4 or 5 tables that met the 42" requirement. SO after debating a little more we ruled out the 2 round ones (round is what we THOUGHT we wanted) and narrowed down to 2 square (rectangle?) tables. And AGAIN, David was GREAT! And with his input, we selected one. We also opted for delivery and set up ($69.99) 'cause otherwise for us to go down to Grand Prairie to pick up the table AND the chairs (it included chairs) we would have had to take both of our cars. SO we went ahead and set that up. David consulted the computer and gave us a date and told us that we would get a CALL for a 4-5 hour time window 2 days before. The paper states this AND states, "Unfortunately, this time may not be changed nor can a timeframe be requested." So, we didn't actually get a call, but my wife got a text that delivery would be 4-8p. That was fine, I had already told my boss that I was expecting delivery on 2Jun and the time was forthcoming. So I made arrangements to leave at 330. Then we get a text around 1230 that the delivery team was ahead of schedule and they would arrive around 1p. SERIOUSLY? Now the earliest I can be there is 115 so I text back and scramble to make arrangements to leave instantly. My boss was NOT amused. I get home at 115 and they show up at 117. I write into RtG Customer (Dis)Service and tell them my plight...I am out 3 hours pay due to THEIR being early and request a refund of my delivery/setup fee. The high school drop out that responded told me that the delivery time is subject change and not guaranteed. REALLY? then why set up a time window at all? I looked at the paperwork and as I indicated above it does NOT say that at all...in fact it actually says the time "MAY NOT BE CHANGED". They are lying sacks of horse (or cow) fertilizer. Their products might be good, but their customer (dis) service, especially re delivery is NOT! read more
