Poor quality, doesn't last long. All about the sale and getting you to sign up for the credit card. With so many other furniture stores out there I wouldn't go back to Rooms to Go. I made a rather large purchase at this store 14 months ago- a sectional, large upholstered ottoman, dining table, 6 dining room chairs. The dining table was delivered with several scratches and dents. Rooms to Go did send a technician out to repair the scratches and fill in the dents with some kind of glue and paint. At the time I was disappointed that our brand new table already needed repairs but they fixed it and it looked fine so I let it go. Fast forward a little over a year and our sectional cushions are all sinking in. They are the type of cushions that are affixed to the sofa so you cannot rotate or flip them. The store directed me to corporate who said there's nothing they can do since it's 2 months over the one year mark and directed me back to the store who said they can't override what corporate told me. So if you're happy with furniture that may only hold up for a year then by all means, this is your store. Otherwise, they don't stand behind what they sell so buyer beware. Our beef isn't with the table we bought. It's PERFECT for what we needed it for. We remodeled our kitchen and the breakfast area space had shrunk so the existing table was too big. We went to 3 other stores and they either didn't have anything smaller than 42" (the guy at Stacy's kept showing us stuff bigger than what we wanted) or the table wasn't what we wanted OR was MUCH too expensive (The Dump). So when David at RtG LISTENED to us, he showed us 4 or 5 tables that met the 42" requirement. SO after debating a little more we ruled out the 2 round ones (round is what we THOUGHT we wanted) and narrowed down to 2 square (rectangle?) tables. And AGAIN, David was GREAT! And with his input, we selected one. We also opted for delivery and set up ($69.99) 'cause otherwise for us to go down to Grand Prairie to pick up the table AND the chairs (it included chairs) we would have had to take both of our cars. SO we went ahead and set that up. David consulted the computer and gave us a date and told us that we would get a CALL for a 4-5 hour time window 2 days before. The paper states this AND states, "Unfortunately, this time may not be changed nor can a timeframe be requested." So, we didn't actually get a call, but my wife got a text that delivery would be 4-8p. That was fine, I had already told my boss that I was expecting delivery on 2Jun and the time was forthcoming. So I made arrangements to leave at 330. Then we get a text around 1230 that the delivery team was ahead of schedule and they would arrive around 1p. SERIOUSLY? Now the earliest I can be there is 115 so I text back and scramble to make arrangements to leave instantly. My boss was NOT amused. I get home at 115 and they show up at 117. I write into RtG Customer (Dis)Service and tell them my plight...I am out 3 hours pay due to THEIR being early and request a refund of my delivery/setup fee. The high school drop out that responded told me that the delivery time is subject change and not guaranteed. REALLY? then why set up a time window at all? I looked at the paperwork and as I indicated above it does NOT say that at all...in fact it actually says the time "MAY NOT BE CHANGED". They are lying sacks of horse (or cow) fertilizer. All sales people are the same....cars, furniture doesn't matter. They're vultures. We asked to walk around alone and the sales associate had not shown us any useful couches via the description of "I don't care as long as it isn't leather" - we proceeded to walk around & ended up settling on a couch (our sales associate stalked us throughout as we were "on our own" so he was quick to swipe the credit card - upon leaving he decided to say looking at me, a young woman, "well now all you have to do is thank daddy for a new couch right?". What makes someone think that's ok this day in age I'm not sure but that was SO beyond inappropriate - I called the "GM" a few days later and while they did apologize nothing was offered to make me feel like this would genuinely be addressed but I hope it is because I can gladly go into any furniture store I desire and buy WHATEVER I want by myself. I noticed that according to Yelp, there are two Rooms to Go on Grapevine Mills Cir. The one I'm writing about is across the freeway from Ashley Furniture Store. I had been buy furniture for my new condo and was looking to buy sectional when I walked into the store. The way all the salesmen were near the front door reminded me of a bunch of vultures waiting. Steven immediately asked us if we wanted help and we said that we wanted to look around first. After we looked around, we found Steven. He told us a bit about the sectionals. When my son, an adult, asked Steven a question, it was obvious to my son and me that Steven was exasperated with us. He had a horrible attitude. We decided that we didn't want him to help us. When Steven was gone for a minute, we asked David a question. David seemed very nice; Steven's opposite. Too bad David was working with someone and we couldn't figure out how to dump Steven, so we left. When we pulled up to the Ashley Furniture Store, we noticed that the car we had just seen at Rooms To Go, was also now at Ashley's. I wonder if Steven drove that customer away too. read more

Came in to get a couch and was told to "just buy it" since I could cancel it within 48 hours. Ended up getting 6 dinning chairs too. Got home, measured, couch was too big. Called and the lady made me talk to the sales man, Jim. Jim was somewhat upset but still canceled the couch order. Next day I realized the protection plan for the chairs wasn't 12 dollars total, but per chair ... so called back to remove the protection plan and again they transferred the call and made me speak to Jim. That's when Jim got upset and told me "why are you removing this, it's financed anyway" I explained the misunderstanding with price and how an additional $72 wasn't worth it for me and he said, "so you already cancelled the couch and now you want to cancel the protection plan for the chairs too? Go call customer service and do it yourself". Since Jim was rude, I told him to just go ahead and cancel everything. Jim then hung up without telling me if he got it taken care of it or not. What an unpleasant situation. I had to call back and ask to speak with a manager just to confirm that the order was actually canceled. This company is a joke, purchased a living room set from them, noticed a tear in the sofa down on the foot stand called them up since it was still one year protection plan. They sent someone to survey who then came took pictures and today I got a phone call saying sorry it seems to be wear and tear and it's not covered under the protection plan!!!! RUN...DON'T GO THERE! I should have stayed away from the Grapevine, TX location when I saw all of the bad reviews. By the way, the last time prior to this visit, I walked into this Grapevine, location not one salesperson acknowledged me let alone offer to assist me. I walked out, annoyed, after about 20 minutes which was 15 minutes longer than I should have stayed. They shouldn't have a single star but I had to give them at least one star to be able to write the review. Went on a Friday night. The place wasn't that busy but there were only 3 salespeople on a Friday night during a Colombus Day sale! A nice salesman named Otto did greet us at the door and told us to let him know if we needed any assistance. He was with other customers when we had questions but told us he would be with us soon. The folks he was helping were wasting his time. I am a former salesperson so I could hear and see this. Meanwhile, their kids were jumping all over the furniture even standing on the footrest of the reclining sofa we were interested in. Don't buy any of their floor samples. They let kids run amuck. Smh. After 30 minutes of waiting, a salesperson named Lydia, who had made a very nice commission on us previously, approached us. We told her that Otto was assisting us. To make a long story short, she ended up getting the sale because Otto was still tied up with the folks with the kids running all over the store like it was Chuck E. Cheese. She kept changing the price on us and acting like we were the ones confused. I should've followed my intuition and left then. Anyway, once we got home, after Lydia rushed us out of the store because it was too close to closing time we noticed that she entered two loveseats and two recliners! She changed our order/ticket! She showed us the correct items earlier and then she changed it! We wanted 3 pieces...a sofa, a loveseat and a recliner. All of them power recliners. The receipt was now showing 4 pieces...no sofa anywhere. We also noticed that the furniture was the wrong brand. Not even what we wanted. She claimed to have talked to a "manager" and got us a discount. Unbelievable! Guess we got a discount because it wasn't even the brand we requested...the wrong furniture Called Lydia's cell the next morning to bring HER error to her attention & she advised she was at her grandson's birthday party and wouldn't be in. Once again, she acted like I was confused and said she doesn't know how that could have happened (that she ordered 1 extra piece plus the wrong brand/style). She's the one who put the items in her tablet, not me!! I couldn't even find the SKU# or the brand on the website! We went back & told Otto what happened. I wanted to give him the commission because Lydia was so incompetent, condescending, and unconcerned and he greeted us first. She should have called them, told them what happened and asked the mgr to assist us since we had to waste time and gas to get this corrected if she cared about her sell. Otto directed us to the office to get it resolved. They sent for a raggedy, arrogant, useless so-called manager named Jimmy. He has no business managing a popsicle stand let alone a furniture store. He couldn't even manage to run a comb through his hair. He had an attitude out the gate. We were cordial to him and he was rude to us. I did show my agitation after being totally disrespected and dismissed. He didn't apologize for Lydia's incompetence. He also refused to honor the discount she gave us for all the powered, leather pieces we were buying. This was a high dollar purchase from repeat customers. We buy expensive, multiple pieces each time we make a purchase with them. Jimmy offered to refund our money because he didn't want to be bothered. He lost Rooms To Go nearly $5,000 over a few hundred. This is how you treat customers that you have wronged and inconvenienced? Pitiful excuse for a manager! We had decided to still purchase the furniture w/o the discount but I was done when he rudely stated he can just give us a refund because he can't do anything for us. Really??? Well, they won't have to worry about my business or my money ever again. We walked passed this Jimmy idiot while he was speaking with Otto, WITH our refund, and the moron didn't even speak to us after Otto told us goodbye. Poor customer service, incompetent salespeople and managers! RUN, don't walk, if you're in the store now and don't even bother going if you're reading this book before setting foot in this raggedy store. I ordered a sofa that ended up being a little too big for the area of my home i wanted it in. During the delivery, after seeing the sofa wouldn't fit the delivery guys started to tell each how much of a "dumb ass bitch" i was (in Spanish). I asked them to leave my home and take the furniture and immediately went the rooms to go grapevine location to cancel the order. I was "helped" by a young girl in the office who had no customer service skills, no empathy and in no way offered to attempt to resolve my issue. Purchased a dining room from the store at The Colony. My sales rep, Jody, was pleasant and a joy to work with. Delivery on the other hand has ruined it and I will NEVER buy anything from RTG. Delivery status at 6am on date of scheduled delivery states 12-4. I stepped out in the morning only to get a text at 10:47am saying they're 10 mins away. At 11:12am I call CS to tell them I heading back home, I'm only a few mins away. In the meantime by 11:15am my son is home & no driver. The CS rep says dispatch reports the driver stayed at our house until 12pm which is an outright lie. By 2pm I'm calling for a status and they state the driver is done with his deliveries for the day & that I have to reschedule. Called Jody at the store and she wants to cite my sales receipt states that the window for delivery is 8-5pm, but not at all what the delivery dispatch advised. I can't and won't tolerate poor customer service. Take my $ but then treat me like I don't matter as a customer. And to think, Jody almost convinced me to buy a $6-7K premium mattress. My boyfriend and I were there yesterday 30 minutes before closing shopping for a recliner chair. The store was empty, no customers around except us. We walked passed 3 Sales Associates who were all sitting around on display furniture and relaxing/chatting amongst themselves. They saw my boyfriend and I walk by but not one Sales Associate offered to help us or asked if we needed help. For some reason I was expecting service . what I got was a person that had no interest in anything other than selling stuff at an inflated price. I realize they have to make a living but selling a product like Tempur-Pedic at full retail and having no interest in warranty work. Tempur-Pedic one of their two lines of beds is arguably one of the more expensive beds with a very good warranty. I was told I would have to call Tempur-Pedic and deal with them. Quite a dishonest and shoddy business practice as far as I'm concerned. Perhaps I have an unreasonable expectation of a legitimate and honest retail outlet that strives to do the right thing. Delivery service did not call one hour before arrival like I was told they would by three different managers and then delivery guy said they would be there by 1:15pm and they showed up at 1:53pm, with nothing but excuses. Save yourself the anger and frustration and do not shop here. Though the sales staff was nice, the furniture is crap. Our loveseat was delivered with a broken leg, and our Ottoman had a scratch. It took multiple phone calls just have them schedule an appointment to come fix it. After waiting a few days for that appointment the service man could not fix the problem, meaning we then had to wait another few days for another appointment. When we said we were tired of dealing with all of the problems and wanted a refund they refused to give one. I will never shop here again and I will do everything I can to ensure everyone I know does not either. read more

Posting for a friend... WATCH OUT GUYS!!! Avoid this place and this company. I do not usually post negative reviews. So I am serious and truly upset about this. So They will say anything to close a sale. And worst of all, if you want them to "honor" their warranty, you have to buy hundreds of dollars worth of extras. We bought a $2000 bed and in order for them to keep to their warranty, we had to buy a $300 bed cover. And even then, they have the option to deny warranty service. Apparently the slightest stain on a mattress voids the warranty. Also, we are very unhappy with the bed we got. Neither my wife or I can sleep well. The only option they gave us is to replace it with a more expensive model and pay the difference plus a restocking fee. Couldn't downsize or downgrade. Only allowed to upgrade. And to top it all off, we found out we are gonna have a kid soon and we really could use those funds for child savings. We tried to explain this but the manager was completely indifferent and cold. When we were in the process of buying, Richard, our salesman, said they don't have an official return policy, but in a hushed voice said that they want to keep customers happy and can do refunds to avoid bad reviews. So I first called the company service line and they said a manager or the salesperson could authorize a refund. So I called both the sales person and the manager and they both shot me down without hesitation even after explaining all the circumstances. So again, avoid rooms to go. You are spending way more than necessary and it's not even quality. And the customer service is terrible and useless. read more

I like a lot of the furniture here. The store is organized well, and the sales people are not too pushy. My issue lies with the unhonest sales tactics. They sales lady, which was an older lady, whose name I believe was Pam, is a liar! She insisted that I had to purchase some $300 protection plan and they could not sell me the furniture without it. Once I spoke with their finance team, they had me sign off on a paper saying I wanted it. I told them I did not, and I was told it was mandatory. They told me that it is not mandatory, and the salesman should not of told me otherwise. They removed it. Awesome experience otherwise. Sold me leather sectional sofa, about 1 week later, one section bottom was broken and repair man came fixed the bottom wooden bridge, but it didn't really had a support, it felt like seating on a 100 year old sofa. I called and complain but no exchange or whatsoever. Another item was a desk, delievry man assembled at our front yard and didn't do a good job, the nail was sticking out from the desk leg, I called, was told they will send me a new leg, never recieved it. The furniture quality is horrible and the customer service is even worse. Less than 6 months after my purchase and have had service to my house 3 times. They agreed to replace broken mattress but it is discontinued and will only give a credit for less than the price of every comparable mattress. Had to select an I inferior replacement and actually had to pay $26 due to price difference. The comparable mattress would have cost me another $300 even though that set cost less than the set I originally purchased. And the manager Emie was reluctant to help u till I asked for a manager. After the sale happens, you are treated like nobody. In my case, we paid for Delivery and Setup of a sectional, first, no one called us and gave a heads up before delivery. Second, no one will tell you what the conditions are for delivery. Third, the delivery guys are unprofessional, rude and dis-respectful, they just want to dump your furniture and leave. Fourth, in spite of making space for the new sectional they refused to set it up. Fifth, I refused to sign after delivery so the delivery guys left and informed their "Dispatch" that the room was not ready to set-up, which is not true, we had space in the room and could have made more space in couple of minutes which I did and requested them, however, they refused to help me in setting it up. Sixth, when I called the store, the sales person just simply told me they cannot do anything and asked me to call their customer service. Seventh, the customer service was not helpful when I asked for a refund of my set-up charges. Bottom-line, think twice before buying anything from them. I will not buy anything from these guys again. This complaint is more for the warehouse in Arlington. Management must be incompetent to making sure their pickers select the right pieces for delivery. I was initially sent the wrong sofa recliner. After 6 months, the top brown coat started peeling and showing a pink material underneath. We called to see about getting it repaired and were told the 3-year warranty we purchased only covered food and drink & they recommended hiring a 3rd party upholster to fix it. We found a very knowledgeable Upholster and he let us know that there is absolutely NO LEATHER on this couch and he is unable to fix it. It appears it may possibly be some kind of vinyl coating on cloth. The Couch description on their website says, "Leather wherever the body touches". What a joke! We were told when we purchased a couch that is would last us 10+ years because of the quality of leather and it has not even lasted two! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY WILL ASK YOU TO SEND THEM AN EMAIL SO THEY CAN RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND THEY WILL NOT FOLLOW THROUGH. read more

My husband and I purchased a living room set from this location about one year ago. The sales associate was more concerned with how many sales he could get, that he messed up our order and did not include all the correct items. After 6 months of having the furniture the couch breaks. (Note: it's just my husband and I that live in our house.) The couch needed to be replaced. After approximately 6 months the second couch breaks again for the second time. The quality of the furniture (i.e. couch, chase, etc), end tables, coffee table, lamp, etc were incredibly poor. We are now going through a process with the corporate office and store managers to try to get new furniture. I would prefer that I never bought anything from Rooms To Go in the first place. Corporate and the store managers contradict themselves and have inconsistencies in their "Rooms To Go policies". It has been a complete headache. I would urge those thinking about buying furniture to go somewhere else. You will pay for good quality but you will not receive that at Rooms To Go. Also the employees and corporate are unwilling to please a customer in regard to faulty, defective furniture. read more

Ordered a bed and dresser, with delivery and assembly. The delivery guys refused, absolutely refused, to assemble the bed. I was literally chasing them out the door. We called the store manager who told us that the guys said we declined to have it assembled and he would not back down on accepting their lie. We were not asked to sign anything accepting delivery, because we wouldn't have signed it. We certainly didn't decline assembly, and we even had our movers there as witnesses if anyone cared to ask. We then decided to cancel the dresser (scheduled for later delivery date) as we thought it would likely get dumped in the doorway and were told you can't cancel an order! For an item that you haven't accepted delivery on! After 2 escalations and an entire afternoon, we got the dresser cancelled and we paid the movers to assemble the bed. Do not shop here no matter what. Ashley is right across the street, Freed is about 15 minutes away and they both have comparable products. Also I found out when I went back out for another dresser, that even small furniture stores have a similar catalog so if you tell them you saw it at Rooms to Go they can quite often order it for you and they will meet or beat the price. We did exactly that - found a small store in Irving, got the same dresser at a better price, got same day delivery and best of all - we were treated as if our business matters. read more

I was sold a couch with a chaise lounge but the pieces that attach the chaise lounge to the couch don't fit. When I called to talk to the manager, Jimmy, he talked to me like I was a child and told me it worked in the store and there was nothing he could do about it. Later he admitted it was a manufacturer defect that happens all the time but still nothing he could do about it. I called corporate to discuss his lack of customer service skills and they justified his behavior. They said because I bought my couch as is they are not going to help me. They didn't tell me the couch didn't work or I wouldn't have bought it! Very deceptive! read more
