I went with my partner to look for couches. We were sitting and testing them and I guess it bothered a worker-- a worker who kept following us even when we said we didn't need help. The worker came up to us and said if we weren't going to buy anything there was no point sitting on them that we can just look. The whole point of the store is to test out the items is it not? It wasn't that we weren't going to buy anything but rather making sure we found the perfect couch for us. Seems like this store wasn't the place to find it. read more

My wife and I were looking for a dining server and went to several furniture stores. We got a great deal at Room to Go in McAllen, but most importantly the sales person, Lupita, was incredibly helpful. She helped us select the best dining server that met our needs and gave us great advice on other available items we would probably need in the near future. Our experience was fantastic at Rooms to Go because of Lupita. I purchased a Sectional from Rooms to Go in Mcallen TX. On March 24 When they finally delivered my furniture. The delivery guys were being so careless that they infact damaged the furniture they broke to of the legs and as they were dragging it in the plastic tore up and they scraped it was completely ruined mind you that they broke my chandelier from the entrance as they were being super careless they knew about it and they left with out me signing for the delivery. I called the manager Martin he said that they would pick up the furniture and reimburse me fully $3,330.62 which that was what I paid. So they came back and picked up the furniture. I was told that I would be reimbursed from 7-10 days I said that was fine. So now 7-10 days passed I kept checking and calling my bank to check for the reimbursement and the bank keeps telling me that they have not processed it yet. So I go personally to the store and spoke again with Martin the manager at that store and he tells me to wait that he was going to check on something. When he comes back he tells me that it had been processed on the 18th not the original date he told me and that he doesn't know where my money is. Its now been a month I don't have my money or any furniture and they just give me the runaround. I don't know what I can do at this point. It is such a disappointment from a big chain store to treat their customers like this I feel very helpless. It was my first time ever to shop at Rooms to Go and had the worst experience ever. My husband and I had saved money to get new furniture for our New home such a disappointment now we don't have our money or furniture with No answers. Wow this place is trash , we processed an exchange Delivery went smooth. 10 minutes after the delivery I noticed sofas were sent with no feet. I called and asked for the delivery crew to come back and help me out or swap out and give me my original set. .. no luck. Horrible customer service. although the customer service on the phone tried their best. there's only so much they can do with what they are allowed. the people in-store are totally smug and disconnected from the customer. It's this company's policy to just take your money and run once a problem occurs. No refund policy on things they should be responsible for. have a big credit line with them but will never shop with them again. Rooms To Go doesn't understand or doesn't care. if they treated their paying customers better we would come back and do business with them over and over. I wish I had seen their yelp ratings or their better business bureau rating before shopping there. it's no wonder they have class action lawsuits against them. read more

My experience was good while shopping at this location. I had various people offer assistance while I walked around the store looking at different products. Jose Limón assisted me with my purchase and he even came in on his day off to complete the purchase which showed his dedication to his job and that's why I made sure he was the one to receive the credit for the sale. They have a good selection of products and display at this location which made my purchase a little difficult but that is always a good thing. I would say my overall experience was good at this location and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to furnish their home as an option. read more

Usually I don't bitch about the service unless its really terrible, but I can't help myself this time. The good: -We ordered a leather sectional couch. We like it alot, its comfy and was delivered in good condition. -I also ordered a couch in Houston, and it was delivered on time too. The bad: - If you don't cancel your order within 48 hours, you will FOREFIT 20% of the total cost of the order. -why does this ridiculous policy exist? We wanted to cancel our order because our bed wasn't going to be delivered until 3 weeks after the date of purchase after being told it would be offered sooner. So, the item isn't on the truck yet and no where near being delivered, and we can't cancel our order for free because roomstogo is taking their time?!?! -Customer service: We dealt with rudy and crystal. The most important job for furniture salesman is to make sure your stuff arrives on time and be available for any mishaps. They told us we would get a call back after we called about our order, but WE NEVER GOT A CALL!! This happened several times. When we tried to speak to the manager, they said he wasn't in that day or wasn't available. -Maybe rooms to go is just bad here in the valley bc their main hq is in Houston. Who knows, but I hope the employees in this store get their act together or move on to another job. I mean, how hard is this job? This "business" sells poorly made furniture and refuses to take responsibility for the garbage they sell. I purchased the warranty on my couch, and when the stitching came apart at the seams, I found out that they conveniently don't cover seams coming apart (a clear defect of the pile of trash they sold me). No repair, no replacement, no store credit. Just a smile and a "good luck with your $1500 waste of money." They're a bunch of shysters. If you need furniture, go ANYWHERE ELSE. read more

Bought furniture over a month ago. Got it paid down to the 1,000 I was able to be financed for. I called 3 different times to make sure every thing was ok and set for the 12/29 waiting a full month. Each person told me yes I was good to go. Only to find out the day before my furniture was SUPPOSE TO COME after I HAD TO CALL THEM that I didn't have the financing applied yet and had to go in to have that finalized. Purchased a dining room and chairs and Queen Bedroom suite. The delivery people scraped the wall. When I brought it to the supervisor attention, he wanted to argue with me regarding this to tell me they didn't do it. The delivery people have bad customer service. The claims department low balls you on a offer to fix. After investigating, I figured out that they hit the slat of the end of the side rail against the wall. I notified Rooms to go of this. They offered me $25 dollars. That doesn't even pay for the labor and the paint. If you buy from them make sure your in the room with the delivery people and watch them like 2 years old because they will tear up your house. read more

Rooms To Go has to be the worst place. The majority of the staff are clueless, rude, and down right useless as well as Customer Service. The quality of the sofas are cheap. The store has a no return policy. Thank goodness I was able to get credit. My worry was selecting furniture so I could use my credit. There is not much to choose from. Horrible delivery service! I made 7 calls to customer service in regards to missing parts...4 of them. It took them 2 weeks for them deliver each one and when they did, they sent the wrong one. I am writing this review on behalf of my aunt. She lives in Mexico and spent over $1,000.00 USD on furniture at this Rooms to Go location. She paid for the furniture at the end of December 2013 and was promised the furniture would be delivered to her in Mexico between January 8-20. However, on the first week of January 2014 she received a call from Rooms to Go letting her know that her furniture wouldn't be delivered until April because the items she ordered were not in stock. She asked if it was possible to get the items on display but she was told those were already sold. She let them know she was only willing to wait until February. About a week later she called and asked to speak to the manager to find out if they would be able to speed up the delivery and she was told that her only options were to either cancel the items or choose other items. She ended up canceling the order. However, due to changes in currency exchange rates she ended up getting less money than what she had paid. Not only that, but she also lost the money that was used for the expenses involved in traveling to Mcallen, TX from Mexico to buy the furniture. Besides the money issues, she also feels she was treated very disrespectfully since she never received an apology for the delay and instead was made to feel like she was being very demanding by wanting her items on time. Overall, this was a very bad experience and wants potential customers to beware that at least this particular location of Rooms to Go does not care about its customers. read more

I will never shop again at Rooms-To-Go and I will never recommend them to anyone. I purchased a sectional with 4 recliners at the McAllen store. Two of the recliners were automatic so I had them ordered manual cuz I didn't want to mess with cords. The sales rep gave me the price deducting $200 for manual recliners (the automatic are $200 more). He conveniently ordered the other two as "armless chairs" instead of "armless recliners" like we had agreed. I didn't notice until they were delivered. I called him right away and he said I had to pay $200 more for recliners. The sales rep knew exacly what we wanted and the quote he gave me was for 4 recliners, they should have honored that. The manager was no help and very unprofessional, he didn't even introduce himself or extend his hand when I went to the store to talk to him. read more
