I always enjoy mikes charisma and the summer management of john livinggood is impeccable! always a great date spot with a great view of the ocean from the outside seating during the summer. I took my brother to eat their for his bachelor party and Nicole was an amazing server. another table backed us up on our drinks and our surf and turf was outstanding. we paid for what we got and we were satisfied when we left! always great for special occasions, or just a quick spot to grab lunch. read more

We dined tonight at Rooney's and had a fantastic experience! We chose to sit outside because it was such a beautiful night and the full awning kept us out of the sun. Our daughters have severe nut allergies and one with a severe dairy allergy. We called ahead to see what was safe for her to have and they assured us they can accommodate. We were told the fried calamari was dairy-free so we ordered that and it was delicious, as were the Tanteo clams (the chorizio with the clams was delish!) They also prepared her fries in a clean fryer to avoid cross-contamination, which meant so much to us! Our fish dinners were delicious as well (branzino and halibut). Our server, Sam, went out of her way to assist us with our allergy needs and was just fabulous! We will definitely we dining at Rooney's again in the near future! read more

Nice tradition to come here in the summertime after hitting the beach. Food is just ok for the most part, you have to know what to order. Expect to pay handsome sums of cash for the view. The raw bar was excellent, the mussels were good but the calamari was soggy and obviously frozen. There were six in our party and everyone was satisfied with their meal. Had a fantastic time at Rooney's this weekend. We had a 14 person party and both the food and service was terrific.

The review is primarily weighted by food, cocktails, and to some extent, the service. First, the positive is the venue and atmosphere. We came to this place based on the idyllic outdoor covered patio seating with an amazing ocean view. This can't be beat, and if we ever came back... it would be for the view and the setting. The food was disappointing. Everything missed something... The crab dip appetizer was good, but small, and served with a completely inappropriate crackers that overwhelmed the delicate crab flavor. The clams casino were ok, but came with much sand. The lobster mac and cheese was lobster flavored, but flavor in general was missing altogether. The tuna was ill prepared. Half was medium, and the other half was rare, and seemed less than fresh. The cocktail menu was a little canned, and lacked mixology. Even the "natural" jalapeno margarita (one of the few drinks without "mixes") was served in a high ball and wasn't quite balanced. The grouper was good, but I can't understand why the "angry" preparation was an extra $3. I kinda expected the prices to be high since it does appear to be a little classier place, but the food didn't quite match. Regarding service, we actually were seated outside within 15 minutes on a Sunday evening, faster than 20-25 minutes promised. Food came out very quickly... maybe too quickly. Absolutely horrible. Started off with my girl trying to suprise me drove 40 mins 3 times just to set it up on three different days. This way get the staff involved set up the table and so have you. got there they didn't know where the decorations were at all. The way he spoke to her wasn't right snd never came to the table to introduce himself to me after so many mess ups. Dinner with my wife for Valentine's Day. The hostess was very friendly and able to seat us early. Our waiter was very attentive. The drinks and appetizers we ordered were served promptly. My wife had a seafood dish and I had strip steak. Both were delicious and very filling. Prices were about what I expected. We were recommended this restaurant and love going to the beach so we figured a beach day followed by a dinner here would be the perfect day! It ended up raining so we headed to the restaurant 2 hours prior to our reservation to sit at the bar. Luckily they told us we could sit anytime so we chose to sit early. We had the perfect sit where the window doors opened and we can see everyone outside. Thy served us chips and hummus and greeted us. We ordered mojitos and a boozy link lemonade and also ordered the peel and eat shrimp. Loved the drinks and the app. We then ordered a full lobster stuffed with crabmeat and crab stuffed mahi. Came on a Wednesday around 6:30. Walked along the "boardwalk" and were a little confused as to where to sit. Ended up sitting at the bar, and was totally fine with that. Was a little bummed because I checked the menu earlier and [my own fault] the lunch menu was a bit different from the dinner. So the dinner prices (different options to compare) were somewhat pricier. I wish we could have had some of the cheaper options for dinner. Anyway.... Ordered some calamari - quite tasty. One half got some blackened mahi mahi. The other got the "Rooney combo" - crab-stuffed flounder, panko-crusted shrimp and scallops over wild rice. I didn't love the scallops but that's more likely a personal thing. The rest was great, and as was the mahi. Our service was great. I don't think we wait long for anything at all. This was a great place for a date night. We started at the bar during happy hour then moved out to a table outside on the patio. The band that was playing was also very good and was only eclipsed by the food. My wife had shrimp fra Diavlo while I had the Rooney's combo. Both were very good. Honestly, so extremely satisfied with tonight's dinner. I decided to look on yelp to see how many stars it got, and I am now highly disappointed that it only got 3 stars. So, I wanted to make a 5 star review because that's what this place deserves. From service to the most important part, the food! Everything was great. Excellent scenery and excellent wait staff. Yes, it is moderately priced, but I've paid way more money for complete garbage. We had crab bites, Korean BBQ ribs, & lobster lettuce wraps for appetizers. Not one complaint. Entrees were the Rooney's Mac & cheese, & my husband had the crab meat stuffed 1 1/2lb lobster. This restaurant deserves more stars. Food was excellent. read more

Terrible service!!! We waited 10 minutes at the table and not even so much as a glass of water in 90 degree heat. The table next to us who were seated after us had their water glasses filled and food on the table. To top it off the empty water glasses which they never filled were dirty.
