It had been years since I had my eyebrows professionally threaded-I learned how to thread and would clean my own brows. I'm not great at taking photos, so they really don't do justice to how good my eyebrows look after coming here. I've been going to this salon for over a year now and have had my brows done by every single technician and not once have I been disappointed. They always get them exactly how I like. I've tried a lot of other places before, and they would usually leave my brows uneven. To be fair, my brows are pretty thick and stubborn, but the ladies here have really mastered them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everyone who works here is also super sweet and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have very sensitive skin and tend to get rashes and watery eyes easily, but I've never had that issue here. I came in yesterday afternoon and was in such a rush that I didn't fully notice the damage at first. The young lady completely messed up my eyebrows. I specifically asked for a clean-up because I'm trying to grow them out, and instead she made them way too thin. She removed hairs that were never supposed to be touched and basically took away most of my eyebrow. This is actually the second time she's done my brows. The first time was fine, but this time was completely unacceptable. There's nothing that can be done now because the hair is gone. I'm extremely upset and frustrated. In the black and white photo below - the top is my eyebrows not done, the middle is what was done today at this place (which I'm a semi-regular), and the bottom is the threader I go to every once in awhile but is too far away from me (LA traffic) to be my regular. I've had mediocre experiences for the last year, but I've let it go because my eyebrows grow quickly and they are so close to my house. There is 1 woman who is pretty good, but there are 2 that are more miss than hit. Today, the one I liked wasn't there so I asked the threader to match the photo from a different shop. First, she questioned if it was me or not haha or if it was tinted (yes, it's me- no, it's not tinted). Second, she said I didn't have enough hair when clearly from my before picture I gave more than enough. okkkayyy... I should have taken that as a sign... I don't know if she doesn't know what to do with curly eyebrow hair?! When she was finally done there were multiple blank / bald spots and my eyebrows are so thin (see color photo). I don't know much about eyebrows but today I for sure learned it's a real skillset and if someone doesn't know how to do it, they just don't know how to do it. My favorite go to spot. They have 2 locations one in dtla and 1 in ktown. I used to go to the downtown one when I worked, but now I come to the Vermont one. There is a free parking lot, hit or miss depending on time of day. It's right next to a bomb taco spot if you're hungry and need to kill time. The space is super clean and the workers are super nice!
