Had a great experience the barber took very good care of me, one of the few places still doing hot towel shaves and facials for men, a true gentlemen's experience, they do appointments and walk ins which is always nice, even offered me a complimentary beverage while I waited, which was well need I mean we do live in Arizona! read more

Right when you walk in, the barbers make sure you are attended to. If you make an appointment before hand, they'll take you right in. Junior was my barber and he did an awesome job with the hairstyle that I wanted. All the barbers are great and know how to cut any hairstyle. From the modern haircuts to your good ol' fashion fades. Great place!!! I've had several surgeries on my arm the last three years and it has required me to cut my hair short. As you can imagine, going to a barbershop as a woman was a little intimidating. RBS took all of that away. They were so welcoming and kind. The interior is beautiful with black couches, basketball art, music playing, among other novelties and that's just the waiting room. Moving towards the back there are several barber chairs and a big screen tv, always showing sports or at least ESPN in general. They guys are all friendly and include you in their fun banter. They are always dressed stylish but professional and always are concerned about your experience. I really do look forward to my appointments here. I'm pretty sure through the week they are just appt ( Walk Ins must wait for down time) but leave the weekend open for walk ins. I usually get my hair done by Juan - amazing guy and does a great job. I'm really glad I made the choice to come here as it's always been a great experience. Prices are cheap, always friendly, always clean, inclusive to all people and quality cuts. Definitely give RBS a chance, I don't think you'll regret it! read more

Outstanding experience. Happily surprised to find these guys open on Labor Day and really wasn't expecting much, was just happy to get a cut. The barbershop has a comfortable setup - clean and well decorated with good music. These guys are filled with passion and pride in their craft and it shows. Searched for a local barber and found this place online. I thought about booking an appointment but they had plenty open. I got here at 4pm, two other guys waiting in front of me. I was promptly greeted and advised the wait would not be long. 420pm more folks have walked in. I signed on the website and made an appointment for 430pm. At 435pm the same guy that greeted me came out again, I told him I had booked a 430 appointment. He looked and said it wasn't there but said it wouldn't be long. 500pm and I am still waiting. No updates. Decided to peace out and go down the street to another barber. An hour of my time wasted at this place. I wouldn't recommend coming here. read more

I travel extensively for work, and keep my eyes open for barbershops in the various cities I visit, mainly to kill time on my layovers. I have seen more than my share of barbers, from high end "man spa" places to the single chair/one man show local guy. WITHOUT exception, this was my finest barbershop experience. I took a chance and walked in with no appointment after reading reviews on Yelp. Chris was able to seat me quickly and he started to work. He spent a full 45 minutes on my fairly simple haircut, taking time to make this ugly dude look as good as could be expected. He was very talkative, but not just jabber. We covered several interesting topics, and his fellow barbers chimed in to add additional color to the conversation. I was left with the feeling that these guys enjoy their profession, and each other. I left with a great haircut, some interesting conversational bits, and a new favorite barber, all for a great price. I will be back. read more

I have been going to Juan C. for almost a year now and he always does a great taper and fade. The guys working here are good people and are always entertaining. It is what you expect out of a true barber shop--good haircut, funny stories, and sports on the big screen. I have seen them do some pretty wild and unique haircuts on other people too. I moved a few blocks north of my barber who I highly recommend but I thought I might look for a barber a little closer to my new apartment. I read the reviews of Roosevelt Barbershop and noticed they either had 5 stars or 1 star. So of course I reas the 1 star reviews. These reviews stated they were taking friends over appointments or even crazier, if you're not Mexican don't bother going there. I made an appointment and arrived on time and I had to wait a few minutes because Juan (my barber) was finishing another client. I'm all for finishing a haircut! I sat down and chatted it up with all 3 barbers. I'm not Mexican but I felt welcome and comfortable. I mentioned the review about being Mexican and we all had a good laugh. Juan did a great job on my hair and the price is what I would expect for a barber downtown Phoenix. I definitely recommend these guys, but they're good so they're busy. The management at this location is incredibly disappointing and needs some serious customer service training. My boyfriend called to say he was running late. He was told it was fine and went in. There was no communication around his barber taking another client, he also took an additional client before they told him he'd have to wait until it was over. He came home upset as this is his favorite shop and I urged him to call in. I wish I had t. He called to calmly discuss his experience and reschedule only for the manager to get defensive, argumentative, and told him to "never come in again". If that's how they treat calm customers I wouldn't trust them to make a situation where they really messed up right. Invest in your customers so they stay your customers. Arguing only makes them look like the a-holes they truly must be. read more
