I could not speak more highly of Roosevelt Moving Co. They are the BEST movers, and the only ones I will ever use from here on out. Not only are they the most affordable movers in the business, they are quick, skilled, and above all--courteous. The first time I called Roosevelt Moving Co. I was desperate to move my giant bed + 10 boxes out of my Georgetown apartment before my lease ran out. Because I was graduating from college, I was so caught up in the celebration process that I forgot to call and schedule a moving company well in advance... which proved to be a terrible mistake. After calling dozens of movers who quoted me prices that were comparable to buying an overseas plane ticket, Roosevelt returned my call and said he could come THAT afternoon! And sure enough, he showed up, we moved my boxes into his truck, drove to a self-storage unit and then helped me move ALL of my things into my tiny square. He even let me ride shotgun, and what was best is even AFTER I had paid him (and he could have just taken off and left), he drove me back to my apartment for free so I didn't have to call an uber. Truly a good man. Naturally, when it came time to move back into my new apartment after I had house-hunted and looked at several locations, I wanted to get my bed back + household items as quickly as possible. I merely TEXTED Roosevelt and he responded within minutes, saying he could move me tomorrow. On a weekend. This is 12/10 service, folks. This time, Dominick--another mover who works for the company--helped me with my belongings, and he is the most incredible man. Dominick was professional, expedient, and he kept a smile on his face the whole time he hoisted my boxes and bed up two flights of stairs in 90* weather. If you are looking for a moving company, Roosevelt is the BEST option. I never write reviews, but I feel so compelled to help spread the word about these awesome people. They truly care about your belongings and they will move/treat your furniture the same way they would treat their own. This has been by far the best and easiest moving experience of my life. If you read my other reviews, you'll note that I'm pretty harsh on vendors....however, with Roosevelt Moving, they performed exceptionally well and truly earned each and every one of the five stars I've awarded in my review. In most cases - you hire movers for an amount of time and the quote you are provided for local moves is based on how much time they think it's going to take to move your stuff from location 1 to location 2. I first met with Roosevelt F. and he gave me a quote - it wasn't the lowest price (very close), but his methodology for estimation was very sound and I felt most confident that he really knew how long it would take. It was clear that he knew how to estimate and rather than just going with an "online" submission, he met me at the house, examined the furniture to address the weight, determined how many "Roosevelt Moving" would be needed and then calculated the time it would take which was estimated to be 3.5 hours.....we had already moved almost all of our stuff ourselves - we just had our furniture remaining for the most part. My circumstance was slightly different than most people in that I also had them move an up right Piano - this thing is my most prized possession - and it was CRITICAL that it was disassembled properly, packed for move properly, and then reassembled at the new house without having any scratches, or flaws. Everything went flawlessly - the meticulous nature in which they disassembled the piano (labeling where each nut and bolt went) - the method by which they essentially triple packed it and protected it, the way the team worked together to lift the 700lb behemoth and take it down 16 stairs flawlessly, secure it in the truck, and then reassemble in the new house - I simply couldn't have been more impressed. There is no question these "Roosevelt Moving" care - it is so rare in business these days to find it anymore - I assume this is how customer service "used" to be and for once, to be on the receiving end of a company that goes "Above and Beyond" was really refreshing. 100% recommend! read more

We are very content with the job. I called Roosevelt a few days ago in the afternoon and I was in a rush because the previous company I had hired cancelled on me pretending that I had never made an appointment. He showed up at my door an hour after we had spoken on the phone. Him and his workers did a marvelous job and they did everything super quick. I had a couple flights of stairs they had to go down since there's no elevator in my building. There were some very heavy coffee tables and sofas and a box tv that seemed too heavy or too big or both and they brought it down the stairs like if it was nothing. I thought I would have to spend a lot of money and it would take all day and night, but they finished everything in less than 4 hours and left no scratches on the wall and no marks. The apartment looked untouched and it was awesome. Now getting to my new house we were stuck in traffic on 495 during rush hour but still everything went swell. Once we got to my new house, they placed all the furniture where I wanted it, and assembled my bed nicely. My now wife (whom I was moving into a house with at the time) was very pleased to have such wonderful movers help us. She loves when everything is in it's place and perfectly set, so she is very picky, but she was so thankful to this company for doing everything exactly as she told them to do. Excellent experience, from beginning to end. Pricing was reasonable and well-explained when I first contacted them. The team was responsive by email and phone before my move, and was proactive. On the day of the move, my two-man team showed up on time, were friendly and knowledgeable, explained the process well, were super-careful with all my stuff, dealt expertly with the unexpected (we had to disassemble my king-sized boxspring to get it downstairs), and were fast. They wrapped all of my stuff carefully yet quickly in those thick moving blankets and secured it with tape. They were extremely cognizant of walls and corners, nothing was scratched or dinged. The only surprise I had to deal with was how smoothly everything went -- and that's the type of surprise I like, especially on moving day, which is stressful enough as is. Now it's Tuesday, and I've received both a follow-up phone call and email, checking to see if I was satisfied with the service. They were professional, friendly, and efficient! They seriously blew my socks off. Emmanuel really did a standup job getting me what I needed at the right price where we both were perfectly comfortable. Moving is really stressful. I called three different moving companies in July 2015. The first estimate that I received from a moving company was completely unreasonable. I was just moving out of one apartment and into a new apartment 10 miles away. I called, Roosevelt Moving and I told them about the estimate from the first moving company and they sympathized. They gave me a much lower estimate. The day of the move, two really nice guys showed up. I had not gotten much sleep and had taken a day off work. They were so friendly, polite, and personable. It made it a much more pleasant experience. They helped me move everything. They did not break anything and handled all of my possessions with so much care. They moved everything on their own quickly and efficiently. They moved all of my furniture into my apartment in three trips from the truck to my apartment, and were disappointed that they could not do it in two trips. It went so quickly on a Monday morning and they were so nice: they took the stress out of the situation. Not only that, but they were by far the best price out of all the movers I talked to in July. Roosevelt Moving arrived on time at 7am for the move (we boxed the day before except for the kitchen). I was honestly impressed with how quick and efficient they were. They were able to break down furniture quickly despite having never seen it before, but we're also not afraid to ask specific questions if they were worried about the integrity of the piece during the move (We appreciated the professionalism!). Roosevelt also packed our entire kitchen - and every single piece, including glasses, arrived unbroken (I wouldn't expect a 100% success rate from anyone, but they did it!). By the end I was absolutely amazed that they were able to pack our entire 2br/2ba, drive from Shaw, DC to Bethesda, and put everything where it belonged in just 6 hours - with zero items showing any damage. I've moved myself plenty of times and anticipated this task taking the majority of the day, even with professionals involved. All of this was done at a price that blew other quotes we received out of the water. There's an adage that you can have things done fast, correctly or cheap, but not all three at the same time - Roosevelt proved that wrong. Would highly recommend! read more

My boss recommended Roosevelt Moving when I was moving into a new apartment. He said they moved him several times and were always really great. He was not joking! They were fantastic and exceeded my expectations! Firstly I was booking in a hurry and I was so worried that they wouldn't be able to do a move on such short notice, but they assured me they could do it, no problem! It was easy to book, they were up front about pricing and that was it! The day of the move (today) they texted me when they were on their way and even showed up 10 minutes early. They had moving dollies, blankets, and wrap ready to go! They worked fast and hard. The gentlemen who did my move were super nice guys and treated me and my belongings with respect. They were very careful with my belongings. They wrapped everything up so nicely and disassembled and reassembled my stuff so quick! We got my whole move done 30 minutes under the time they initially estimated. If I could give 10 stars, definitely would- and I don't say that lightly! This is the third time I've used Roosevelt's company since I moved to the DMV area and I must say I am consistently happy with the company! This time we moved from our apartment down the road to a house and we had everything packed but forgot to wrap the beds and didn't know if the furniture needed to be broken down so we were pleased that they brought tools with them and items to wrap the mattresses. They were very professional and very quick with the move, I wish we'd not been moving so we could've offered them some bottles of cold water. One of the guys ran back and I was scared at first thinking I'd insulted them with my tip but then he asked if I liked their service and would I mind writing a review. I was like of course because I've had nothing but great experiences with them. Anyway thank you so much and I would highly recommend and (obviously) plan to continue using them each time we move (although hopefully I can decrease how many more moves I have). Roosevelt and "Ron" were some of the best movers I have ever worked with. They are extremely caring and diligent. They treated me and my belongs with utmost care. I've moved many times over my life including numerous cross country trips, but moving with Roosevelt and his crew was like if you had another family/friend member help you. I am very grateful. I am extremely pleased with Roosevelt moving. After an oversight on my part for how much stuff I had, they quickly transitioned to a 3 person team and were still able to get almost all of my belongings out of my old apartment in two hours. My sister suffered a concussion during this week and they were extremely helpful in helping me set up her room in the new apartment so I could get her over here and in her bed. Everything was moved into our new apartment in an hour and 45 minutes. All three men that helped were professional, easy to talk to, and understood what they needed to do. They also helped put together some pieces of furniture for me. A BIG PLUS: THEY MOVED MY UPRIGHT PIANO AT NO EXTRA COST AND HANDLED IT CAREFULLY AND NOTHING WENT WRONG! Thank you, thank you! We hired services of Roosevelt Moving based on a recommendation of a friend who had had a very positive experience with them. The guys worked hard and were cautious with my belongings. The foreman in particular, was an absolute rock star -- a great combination of hustle and care. They were so cautious that they managed to push a large piece of furniture into the new place. One of the guys pushed a bit too hard and with success things landed in the right place. One of the movers was so considerate that they themselves went through my boxes in storage and found the docs. Then, he delivered the documents to my house. No damage or missing items were encountered. WOW. This company did wonders. I cannot believe how great of a service they provided my family and I. We were in the middle of a rush while getting kicked out of our old house and finding a new place when I called them and asked if they could help us move out. I told them I would have to call back for the date, and when I did, they got everything done fast and simple. I cannot stress it enough, how wonderful they were with us. Roosevelt and Alan were phenomenal! Super kind and courteous. They arrived exactly when they said they would (7:30am!) and got right to work. They were fast, efficient, and careful with loading, unloading, and moving furniture up a hellish 3 floor townhouse. They were kind enough to wrap up whatever furniture wasn't wrapped up and everything was very well secured on their truck. They took care of the white carpeting by laying runners. They even reorganized furniture between floors when asked. Absolutely amazing guys! And very affordable compared to all the other local folks and big name movers! I have moved several times and this was certainly by far the best experience I've had moving. Roosevelt was very courteous and friendly over the phone. I didn't get to meet him but the workers did an amazing job. They moved everything out of my house quickly and only stopped for 30 seconds to get a drink of water. It was very humid out and they still kept on going and didn't slow down. They wrapped everything so nicely and didn't leave a scratch on anything. My bed was assembled nicely. When they were done with the job they checked the truck to make sure nothing was left in the truck. The payment was easy and I paid what we had agreed on. My immediate family has been patronizing Roosevelt Moving for our last six moves ever since he was introduced to us by another family member in 2013. Every time we call we arrange a time and whether it's for a short move or a cross county one he is always on time and fully prepared. He and his team always take care of our belongings and assemble back our beds for us which is a nice touch. Wow this company was great. I had an emergency to move out on the same day/night. Tuesday night I called Roosevelt Moving because their prices were better than any other company that I had looked at, and they actually answered me. When I called, Roosevelt answered very politely. He game me an estimate over the phone based on the items that I told him I needed moved out. Once he came, it was getting dark out, and he came with one other guy. I've lived in DC for 10 years, between my own frequent moves and relocations as well as my recommendations to friends I've used Roosevelt's moving services 7-8 times. They have always worked with my schedule, provided excellent customer service, and been very clear and upfront with pricing.
