Just to preface, I understand that it is difficult to run a business and that people are truly invested in the care of our pets. That being said I strongly believe that if you work with pets, you should have customer service practices and protocols in place. I was recommended to have my cats teeth cleaned and saved up for the procedure which ultimately ended up costing $1,478.29 for one of my cats that needed two teeth removed. On the day of my cat who needed teeth removed (this was her first experience with anesthesia and her first surgery) had surgery performed at 3:42PM (the office closes at 6PM). They additionally administered ketamine and buprenorphine at 5PM and had me pick her up at 5:30PM (the office closes at 6PM). She initially meowed at me at the clinic, and as soon as I got her home, she completely crashed. I tried calling the clinic multiple times and they were at that point closed. She was completely unresponsive to sound and touch, so unconscious that she urinated herself, and was shallow breathing with eyes open and tongue out. The discharge instructions I was given had one line about monitoring for vomiting, diarrhea or labored breathing, but this was not discussed with me during the discharge, and could be enhanced with a more detailed handout about things to look for during recover. I was in shock, traumatized and spent the entire night crying because I thought my cat was dying. And luckily I had a vet friend who let me know to look for a heart rate of 140-160 beats per minute and for open mouth ragged breathing. These things could easily have been in their own handout and reviewed before discharge so it would have been clearer to me what to look for and when to go to the emergency vet. They then left a generic message the next day asking how she was, and I had left messages about her state the night before that felt like they had not been listened to. So I returned their call and shared about my experience, so they were aware that I was deeply upset and traumatized by the situation. When I went in for a follow up visit, it felt like the vet tech knew that I was upset and yet they kept me in the public waiting area instead of bringing me into a room to ask me how I was feeling. So I started crying in the public waiting area, and was left there while they went back to get Dr. Dittrich. I want to uplift that Missy (front desk) was kind enough to see me crying and offer me tissues and a waiting room to sit in, but that was not offered to me by anyone else on staff that I interacted with. I then told Dr. Dittrich that I was not happy with the service, and she said she would connect with her business partner to discuss options. Two days later Dr. Dittrich called me and let me know they reviewed the chart and felt like there was nothing wrong, even though they had said to me they would not send animals home in that condition. And when I said "I did think you were going to bring back options from your conversation with your business partner", she became very hostile and yelled at me "What do you want? What are you asking for? You want the whole thing for free?" At which point, I replied "I truly thought the whole point of you checking with your business partner and reaching out to me would be to offer me a list of options, as discussed, of customer grievance plans." It could be the next annual visit for free, it could be 25% off of the services, it could be so many things, but to have no customer grievance protocol in place, and to not have a budget to accommodates for grievances, even something nice like a standard practice of a urn for people whose pets pass, or a small percentage off of a future visit, seems easy and standard. I will also acknowledge that they now have a practice manager Emily, who I felt like listened to my feedback. But when it comes to running a business, it seems simple and standard to have handouts to send families home with about when to reach out to emergency services, it seems straightforward to have customer grievance policies in place, it seems easy to train staff on when you see someone crying to offer them a room if one is available, and when I called Jason answered and asked me with a bit of hostility where I was calling from, and I was like "my house?" It just feels like the customer service has a lot of room for improvement, and I am hopeful for future customers that Emily has the support needed to create systems and protocols to make sure other clients are not treated with the same level of hostility that I encountered. And totally minor, they no longer offer nail clipping or sanitary trims as a part of wellness checks which is a bummer. read more

The staff here is very knowledgeable, friendly, compassionate, and they treat our pets with kindness and great care. We had our kitten Ozzy spayed by Dr. Marie Andresen and it was an epic and successful procedure for Ozzy. She recovered really well and didn't have any issues at all. She was provided with a medical t-shirt for cats that helped her not chew and scratch around her incision, plus the proper treatment in case of pain thereafter. In the beginning, this vet was great, and the office was welcoming. Now they feel overwhelmed, cash-grabby, and generally disorganized. The waiting room is bursting with waiting pets - which is anxiety-producing for our dog - and worse, it's an extensive wait when you do get a room. Even more anxiety. Finally, they are extremely expensive. The quote for teeth cleaning was double what I was quoted from another vet. Tl;dr - They used to be wonderful. They aren't anymore. Go elsewhere. read more

I've been taking my pup here for a few years now and have generally had a great experience. However, after this last trip I will not be coming back. For context I took my pup to the emergency room the night before and the vet there was super clear about cost, open about my options, and made me feel like I could choose my path forward. I decided to treat the symptoms and if things persisted the next day, I would get an appointment with my vet (Roosevelt Station Vet Care). The next day my pup was still feeling unwell, so I quickly booked an appointment at Roosevelt Vet Care. Thankfully they could squeeze me in and I'm super grateful for that. I get there and they check out my pup and let them know what's going on. They start listing everything they want to do. The list was so long that it was difficult, as someone who's not a vet, to decipher. Certain medications immediately felt unnecessary, but everything was explained like "this is what we're going to do" Unlike the vet at the emergency clinic who worked with me, was transparent about cost, and told me what was absolutely necessary, and what would be extra but nice to do. I declined one of the medications and the vet immediately added something else to the bill. It felt like I couldn't say no to anything and everything seemed equally important. Like, I would be a bad pet parent if I asked why something was necessary or declined something that felt was being pushed on me. I didn't have the information to determine what was absolutely necessary and what was added on as an extra precaution. I love my dog, I want to give her the very best, but a $100 medication was added that was totally unnecessary and I'm unable to return it. At any point it could have be stated that I could come back and pick up a medication if her symptoms persisted or at least given more than one option! As of now I feel completely taken advantage of and exhausted from the whole experience. Having a sick pet is bad enough without the vet making you feel like a shitty parent. As for now, I will be looking for a new vet that will collaborate with me on what we should do together. Rather than just giving me a list of what *they* want to do. read more

I went here for the first time today with my dog Louie. He's a rescue and can get very anxious. He was so much calmer with Dr. Dittrich and her vet tech Maya. Dr. Dittrich listened to me and took my concerns seriously. She made me as an owner feel heard and listened to. You can tell how much the staff truly cares for the animals. I can't say enough good things about the staff at this vet clinic, especially our veterinarian, Dr. Andresen. She is fantastic, has been so helpful and compassionate, and has genuinely gone above and beyond to communicate with me regarding caring for my two cats (the front staff and technicians are excellent too, and I've overheard other vets speaking to clients in the lobby, and they seemed just as thorough and attentive). I really appreciate Dr. Andresen's follow up, including some extremely helpful and detailed emails with resources, advice, and links to more information for my cats needs. I have never felt so empowered! My kitties have gotten chonky, and her email a couple of months ago made all the difference in my ability to help them on this genuinely challenging weight loss journey - and they are down almost 10% of their weight! Just today we had a dental procedure done for my sweet guy Arthur, and they sent me home with before and after photos of the dental procedure, which just really helped in understanding his issues and feeling more confident in my kiity's dental care. The parking can be tricky at first, but know before you go that it's across the street in a large lot and then the clinic will validate your parking. I didn't think to research that beforehand and knowing would have made my first visit easier. The lobby is a little small and there isn't a separate area for cats, which can be stressful for kitties when there are energetic dogs in the lobby or just a lot of activity. Good news about the lobby is, they have a wheelchair ramp! I never thought to include details about accessibility access in my reviews, but since I've been using a mobility device for a broken foot the past couple of months, it's something that I've learned to really value and recognize as an important feature to highlight for all the folks who need to know about these things. They had a bit of a waitlist for new clients due to the pet boom during COVID, but I got on their list and began with an annual visit this past year. During our annual visit, they answered all of my crazy dog mom questions with ease and without judgement (LOL). They are welcoming and transparent about the costs of treatments, vaccines, and visits, which has been great to see. For Halloween, they even had a ton of costumes and a photo set up for your pet - taking a photo saved me $5 off my vet visit! Such a small thing, but a nice personal touch. It has also been easy to secure same week appointments, which is great as we were previously going to Urban Animal, which while great, did not take appointments and involved hours of waiting during each visit. We took our dog Spud here for a year before we left Seattle, and I was consistently impressed at how professional and caring the staff was. We're trying to find new vets post-move, and it's honestly difficult because it's hard to imagine them meeting the bar that was set here. The experience that really stands out in my mind was when we (accidentally) found a tumor on Spud's spleen during a routine ultrasound. My GF and I were *freaking out* and pretty distraught because we really love Spud, but Dr.Dittrich was very calm, caring, and guided us through all of our options. She and the RSVC team were with us every step of the way as we coordinated care with a specialty center she researched for us and recommended. Even when Spud had a bunch of issues pre-surgery (vomiting, bloody stools) that really scared us, Dr.Dittrich set up an email thread with our surgeon where she helped coordinate everything, even sending messages during the weekend. The surgery went well and Spud is OK now, and I can't overstate how much of that is thanks to Dr.Dittrich. From Spud and the rest of our family, thank you so much! Since establishing care for our Bichon Frise puppy, Hans, in November (2020), my husband and I have been nothing but so happy with the care he receives at the Roosevelt Station Vet! We moved to Kent recently, and we happily take the 40 minute drive up to Seattle for checkups, because of the great staff at Roosevelt Station Vet. With COVID, the process is to call the clinic from my parking spot to check Hans in. A few minutes after, a nurse calls me to ask vital questions, etc., then she meets us at the entrance of the clinic so we can drop Hans off. After Dr. Meyers or Dr. Dittrich does their checkup on Hans, they calls us with updated information and an overview of how his examination went. They also answers all and any questions we have. What I appreciate most is how they answer every question in a very calm manner. They're obviously very knowledgeable, and they explain things in a way where we can fully understand it. Establishing care was easy and efficient, even in COIVD-land, and I felt their attention to detail and genuine care for the animals was so rare and impressive. Three months after I established care for my kitty, she became deathly ill. I called Roosevelt Station, and they saw her less than 24 hours after I called, despite being fully booked. Willow's prognosis was grim, but with Dr. Meyers' knowledge and expertise, together we able to map out a plan to save my kitty's life, which is exactly what we did. Seven days later, I feel like I have a brand new kitten. Dr. Meyers and her staff have been guiding me through one of the most difficult processes of my life in nursing Willow back to health, both physically and emotionally, and I know that I would have already lost my sweet girl if not for their help. I do not have the words to express my undying gratitude for this practice, and the assistance they've given to me. It's been nothing short of remarkable, from start to finish. Beautiful, clean, and new. The waiting room is huge and surrounded by glass. It's really comfortable and actually lovely to hang out in. They have hot and cold water and tea for customers. The desk staff and assistants are really pleasant and very accommodating and understanding. But the real deal is always the vet. That's all we animal owners really care about, right? Well, my dog, (who is a snob to everyone and on top of that, scared of the vets office,) fell in love with the vet instantly! This vet is definitely one of those people with an amazing kind of energy. (I could even feel it as a human.) They were smart, and gave me in depth information , listened patiently to my comments and questions,etc.. I don't feel like I have ever been to a bad vet, but this one is truly exceptional. The team at Roosevelt Station Vet Care are amazing. I had the wildest situation happen to me. It was midnight during a heavy rain fail and a cat showed up at my doorstep. Now I live in an apartment and there is a cat colony nearby so we were very unsure of whether this was a lost cat or a stray cat. We let this little dude in because he was persistently sitting in front of the mail slot howling at us. Next day after a very confusing night I called them in a bit of a panic but there were able to make an appointment same day (thankfully, I didn't want to quarantine this dude in my bathroom!). Dr. Meyers checked his microchip which came up not as registered or unregistered but as invalid. While that was a odd one that didn't stop them from checking it twice and calling the issuing company on my behalf. They gave me a few resources and some solid advice for finding his human. They also were able to ease my mind, at this point I didn't know if I had this cat for a day, for a week, for the rest of his life. So being the overly protective cat mom to my old man at home they offered to test for FIV for me as well. The test was relatively stress free for the cat (they have such a calm demeanor when handling your pet here!). They even have an arsenal of cheez whiz to use as a bribe. The facility was more than clean. More often than not animals can smell other animals and get distressed from the get go at vets I've found. This little stray we had was completely calm and while I can't know his demeanor normally I want to say the exceptionally clean environment and upbeat attitude of the staff made his surprise vet visit less traumatic. Lastly they followed up with a call the next morning after tracking down his human's contact info. Although after sitting in the parking lot between 5-6pm in my complexes lot I was able to find his human. We had a good laugh and after taking their cat to the vet I was armed with some useful information for his owners. They had just moved to the area and I think they just inadvertently found their new vet (as well as myself!). read more

Wow. I'm always nervous to start going to a new vet, especially with a newly adopted dog. But this clinic made everything so easy. From scheduling over the phone and their very informative appointment emails detailing how they are handling COVID concerns and telling you where you can park (always a struggle in Seattle) to the care they took with my very skittish dog, I'm so relieved to have a nearby vet I can go to! The vet tech Carolina was so careful and kind when leading Tinker into the clinic and very thorough when she called me to get his history. And the Dr. was great with her detailed assessment of his health and suggestions on how I can help him stay healthy. Now I can finally establish my other dog at this clinic so I don't have to battle traffic to get her to her vet up north! read more

She mentioned that the policy of Roosevelt Station is never to deny care but to try and do the best their can in the available time. She informed me of the actions taken to improve front-desk communication and offered Yogi a complimentary exam. She was genuine and even gave us her personal number to help set up the follow-up appointment. We took our dog over, and she is now up to date on all shots, and we have a good understanding of her health. Thanks, Roosevelt, for making the effort to fix a bad experience. Roosevelt Station is an incredible facility. My rescue dog is fearful in clinical settings and the entire staff (special call out for the excellent service from Emily) here went above and beyond to keep her calm during her first examination and again during the COVID drop off protocol. Additionally, our dog needed extensive teeth extractions and that entire process was very smooth with ample communication before, during and after the procedure. When it comes to scheduling, communication, and approach to animal care, we've found RSVC to be the best facility in the area. read more

We are new puppy owners (golden retriever) and have been absolutely amazed by our experience at Roosevelt Station. We are unable to go in due to COVID, and the staff there have put us completely at ease that our puppy is being well taken care of when we drop him off. He actually loves going to the vet and they sent him home with a new toy after his first appointment. We've been 3x now and everyone we've spoken with has been incredibly helpful. They even took a one-off call to answer our questions about puppy food. I'm a country kid, and moved the the city in April with my family, including the best cat ever - Whiskey. Whisky was an old, loving cat, but she started going downhill healthwise. I had a lot of anxiety about how to tend to a dying animal in the city, trying to find a vet that I can relate to, that would care for my pets. I can't tell you how happy I am to have found Dr. Dittrich and the Roosevelt Station. We took Whiskey in and after a thorough exam and giving me all the details of her health and prognosis in a very caring and understanding manner, we made the very difficult decision to have her put down. The compassion never ended. Yeah, I just cant tell you how amazing they are. And then today, I get a card in the mail. The Roosevelt Station Vet Care team is fantastic. My dog Annie and I started seeing Dr. Meyers in August 2019, after having a tough time getting in to my fave vet at my regular clinic. After a respected colleague recommended Dr. Meyers, we were able to get an appointment within the week. The clinic is very clean, well-designed and inviting. The team is very committed to keeping the visit as fear free for your pet as possible. As a rescue with evidence of some past hard living, Annie has previously been pretty nervous about basic vet visits and especially vaccines. At Roosevelt Station, Dr. Meyers aspirated two of Annie's lumps and gave her a couple of vaccines without her seeming to even notice (two vet techs plying Annie generously with treats certainly helped!) Another bonus - both Dr. Meyers and Dr. Dittrich (also named Annie!) provide cost information as they talk through treatment options. Since our first visit, Annie has been back to Roosevelt Station for much needed dental surgery and cleaning, removal of a mammary tumor, and other miscellaneous needs. Drs. Meyers and Dittrich communicate promptly and thoroughly through such procedures. Dr. Meyers, Dr. Dittrich and the rest of the Roosevelt Station team are absolutely the best! read more

The staff really love animals, and are very professional, compassionate and knowledgeable. They are very proactive and always follow up about how my dog is doing. He's had all kinda of health troubles as he's gotten older and I definitely trust the vets here to take good care of him or provide referrals to specialists when needed. i'm new-ish in town, and needed a compassionate vet. i'd taken my dog for a minor issue to the vet closest to me, but was unhappy with the way we were treated. i vowed to never return. today, it was time to let my big-hearted cat stop suffering. it's always difficult to make the decision to end a pet's life, especially when you're dealing with people you've never met. i read the other reviews, gave them a call. from that first call with Catrina, to the minute i left the building, i felt the compassion and care for both my cat and me. Dr. Annie and Catrina gave me all the time i needed with my boy, both before and after. i have found my new vet. my dog and 2 other cats will be coming here for their medical needs. highly recommend! read more

After a couple bad experiences from other vet clinics I'm so happy to have found this place! The facility is nice and clean, the staff are super friendly and go out of their way to help, and the Vets have been awesome. It's clear they really care about your animals and experience there. The best vet!!! When it comes to my dog I can admit I am a bit neurotic...I am skeptical and don't trust many. I am from VA traveling the country and lucky had established Roosevelt Station as our vet when we came to Seattle (due to his increase in age), I don't normally have a vet est where we get placed...but I'm so thankful I Found Dr. Anne Dittrich and Dr. Meyers! My dog got sick, he was struggling to breath and they were there for me through it all! They checked in regularly even when he was then being seen by a specialist. They were never short or annoyed when I called (several times) not knowing what to do, they were always supportive and helpful. I never thought I'd find a vet as good as my home vet, but I found one that was better!!! I just wish I could take them everywhere I go... read more
