It's an emergency and specialty vet hospital that's open 24/7, so when my pup suddenly got real sick in the middle of the night, I didn't have to worry about where to go. The staff was super caring and professional. They explained everything clearly, didn't rush me, and really made sure I understood what was going on with my pet. Even when things were stressful, they stayed calm and supportive. Other vets I've been to make you feel like a number, but here they treated us like real people and real patients. The waiting area felt comfortable and they kept me updated while they worked -- that made a big difference when you're anxious about your animal. I appreciated their transparency about costs and the care options too. Overall it felt like a place that truly cares about pets and their owners. Not all emergency vets are equal. Great experience at Timberline with our sick dog. Service was excellent and compassionate from the reception, tech, and Dr. Bailey who saw Juneau. Bailey did a thorough exam and offered a different explanation for symptoms then we received. We will have to wait on test results, but I highly recommend the clinic. On the eve of Christmas Eve (known as Christmas Adam to some hah) our cat had a very dramatic incident of somehow imbedding her claws into her pads. Likely from being elderly and not having her claws trimmed the last vet visit. We called our usual vet and they sent us to Timberline. Our experience was far better than I ever expected at an emergency vet. Surprisingly she was moved quickly into triage. In triage the techs were able to get my cat's claws removed from her pads, trimmed her remaining claws and got her cleaned up. I didn't even hear a peep from her! Within minutes she was returned to me, comfortable, cleaned up and calm in her carrier. The male vet tech didn't make me feel judged in anyway even when I was judging myself for letting it happen. In fact when I went to pay my tab I was informed there was going to be no charge since it was just a triage visit. I cried in the car all the way home. The kindness and compassion really hit me in the heart. It's been a hard year for a lot of us. So especially in the spirit of the season, businesses like Timberline really are in it for the love of animals. In fact I can even vouch that the staff spoke kindly and compassionate about the patients even when we didn't know we were listening. Dr. Baer is brilliant. I work with providers for a living and hands down she is absolutely amazing. The front desk staff is excellent. The nursing staff are all top notch. My Charlie needed a BIG sock surgically removed! Dr. Baer confidently assured me that she does these surgeries all the time and that she can do this surgery right away all while keeping Charlie comfortable. It took a few days for Charlie to be released from the hospital but she is home and healing. Nobody finds the price of pet emergency care FUN. It's expensive. Like $8000 for this surgery. I was happy with the care provided to my pet and felt the Dr. provided adequate information and care options on site. But,what I was really impressed with was how the team handled every scenario that walked through the door (and there were many) with empathy, professionalism, and urgency. We visited the ER because my dog, Dawson, was very sick. Because of his age (15) and his status, it was decided that it was ultimately best to end his suffering. The staff was helpful, friendly and supportive, but... We requested that he be cremated and provided my PO Box for mailing of the ashes. We have since been told by a representative from the vet that they will NOT direct the crematorium to send them to the PO Box. I would NOT recommend using this vet if you even remotely think that euthanasia is an option. read more

It might seem strange to give five stars when my pet died here, but hear me out. (Warning - this review contains upsetting content.) I brought my old and sick cat in on a Saturday morning knowing what was wrong and what procedure she needed. I was either in denial or just very hopeful she would pull through. The staff was warm and listened well as I explained the situation, and they told us what we could expect. Things did not turn out as I had hoped. They grabbed the phone right away and I was back there just in time to say goodbye. I appreciate that although I had signed a DNR, they got me with her ASAP to communicate what was happening in real time and to make the final decision. It was honestly the worst moment of my life -- she had been my best friend for over 15 years -- and they knew just what to do. They wrapped her in a fuzzy pink blanket, carefully handed her to me, and led us to a room with a couch and a window with the sun peeking in and told us to take the time we needed. The doctor came in and explained what had happened, and it was all very understandable and unavoidable. In such moments you feel so incredibly lost. We were given more time to be alone with our girl and to grieve and told to push a button when we were ready to discuss next steps. They gave us easy options, and I chose to take her home, so they packed her up and told me how to care for her until we could get her in at Resting Waters. For such a horrific experience, they handled it with care, and I have full confidence they did everything they could with what they had. She was very sick. It was best that she was sedated and in the care of competent and gentle people when she went. A few days later, I received a hand-written card from them. It was so incredibly sweet. I have it up on her cat tree with candles and little flowers and her collar. That meant the world to me after a week of sobbing. When I woke up one morning I was not expecting to rush my 8 year old cat, Lucy, to the emergency vet due to respiratory distress. It was very sudden and I was terrified. I have never been to an emergency vet before and didn't know what to expect, but when I entered the door, the team at Timberline demonstrated they had experience and expertise in their field. After several hours and expert opinion diagnostic work ups where you could tell the team was trying absolutely everything to discover an answer to the problem, I decided to take away Lucy's pain by putting her to sleep. The entire team at Timberline, our vet Dr. Waldrop, Rachel and Douglas at the front desk, and all of the vet techs in the back room made sure Lucy and I felt comfortable and had plenty of time together during her final hours as we waited for her cat dad to arrive from out of state. When he arrived, they gave him the same respect and treatment as me. The team helped to reassure us with our decision. We were allowed to pay for the visit and cremation services up front so once Lucy had passed we could walk out whenever we desired. Each part of the difficult process was seamless as they brought us into a back room with oxygen to keep Lucy comfortable and we could hold her and pet her during her final moments. It has been a truly heart breaking experience to lose my furry best friend, but the Timberline group made everything simple and easy so we didn't have to think too much throughout the process. They even sent me a sympathy card a few days later that has immensely helped me through the grieving process. Timberline provided exceptional care to me and my family. After a long week, our local referral service discovered our 4 year old cat Gabby needed emergency surgery and that they could call around. Sandwiched between business travel, on a Saturday, they got Gabby prepped and scheduled me to Timberline. I was given a low and high estimate to which I agreed to - not having many options, I brought gabby in to Timberline that afternoon. I was promised daily updates, especially considerate of the financial concern, which I understood - though I didn't need any beyond that she was going into surgery - then a call immediately after.... the Doctor herself, Dr Davidow, called me direct - giving me a thorough update and a relieving prognosis. The procedure (exploratory bowel surgery to remove a possible blockage) was successful, and recovered a rubber game controller joystick cover - being that prognosis is good and she'd be spending the night to recover - and that we can talk as soon as I get up to see if she may be ready to come home to recover. I was informed that next morning that she was recovering, and I could pick her up at any time so she could recover from home. My experience, though a nightmare going through it, was eased by these professionals. They were all compassionate experts - and did not hesitate to check up on us to see how Gabby was coming along after she came home. It was a stressful week and I realize they can't save every pet - but when I picked her up only to realize that I was actually being REFUNDED a significant portion of the deposit on my LOW end estimate? I felt Gabby got not only got the best care, but that I was treated fairly in a time of stress. That means a lot. I hope you never ever have the need for these people - but thats wishful thinking. I realize it's easy to give a positive review when you come home with your loved one, and see them thrive after - but If you do find that your pet is in need of emergency care, on your only day off sandwiched between long work weeks? I can't recommend Timberline enough. They are efficient, they are helpful and they are compassionate - and I credit them with extending Gabby's life for hopefully, many more years. My pup was sick and I was in and out of here for an entire weekend, and every single employee that I encountered was wonderful. They work so well under pressure, are comforting and empathetic, and really take the time to listen and explain. I also never felt pressured to take certain routes given how expensive it can be, and if anything felt they were doing what they could to keep the costs down. I recently took my dog here because she ate something she shouldn't have (she's completely fine i was just worried not a dangerous situation at all) I went up to the front desk guy with the man bun and started to explain the situation and he was extremely rude to me. I was already very scared as i love my dog and he started asking me in a very rude tone the exact amount of ounces she ate and the exact ingredients in the dish (that i ordered from a restaurant) and I obviously do not have that exact info so i was trying to explain the best I could, he made me cry and made me feel like a horrible pet owner even though it was a complete accident and she was completely fine. the only reason i am giving more than 1 star is because the vet (or assistant) who helped me was an ANGEL, she was so sweet and made me feel so much better and explained everything super clearly, and they didn't charge me for checking her out. I would love to recommend this place but my experience with the front desk man makes me not want to go back, he was horribly mean to not only me but others he spoke to. I would like to note that it was busy, and everyone has bad days, but when working at an emergency vet with most people already distressed, it is important to at least be calm (preferably kind) to the people who come to talk to you. We recently had a multi-day experience with Timberline that went about as well as I could have expected. The big ups here are the staff (Douglas at the front desk is an angel!) and the medical team. I felt really confident that my dog was being well tended to. The doctors were all very attentive. It was a bit tricky to manage communicating with four different doctors over the course of our experience, but I understand that staff cycle in and out over a multi-day period, and this is a normal part of the emergency animal medicine experience. At least everyone we worked with seemed extremely competent and helpful. The major downside is that their team is pretty bad at predicting accurate wait times. We drove up on a Wednesday at 8pm being told their wait was 0-1 hour. There was almost no one there upon our arrival, and despite our dog's condition being serious, our visit took over four hours. By the time we left, we were completely drained. Time management also proved to be an issue when our dog was admitted overnight. I was told to call at 8am for an update, didn't get ahold of anyone until nearly 11am. I was told to call back again at 2pm to determine a pickup time, wasn't able to get ahold of anyone until nearly 3pm. So be prepared to be patient...they have a lot going on!! Despite all these issues re: timing, I do think Timberline is the best option in this area, especially when compared with other emergency facilities in the north Seattle neighborhoods. Just bring a good book with you, and be prepared to hold tight. read more

We have taken our dog here twice and have been treated with kindness, compassion and excellent veterinary care. Because it's an ER the wait times can be long if your pet is stable. They first triage your pet and have to prioritize the pets who have a life threatening condition. The first time we came for a foxtail in our dog's ear and our visit took 9 hours in total. We were exasperated during a long wait (6 hours after triage) but as soon as we were seen by the vet we felt she gave him excellent care and honestly felt much better about the long wait given we witnessed many more dire situations during the time we were there. These vets are under a lot of pressure but are efficient and professional. The second time our boy ate half of a chocolate cake! Fortunately we caught it quickly, they rushed him right in to induce vomiting and prevent him being poisoned. That time we were in and out in an hour and a half due to them determining the urgency of his situation and acting quickly. The pricing is reasonable and seems a bit lower than blue pearl. We are grateful to this clinic and their staff, and would recommend to other pet owners. read more

We brought our dog with a broken/chipped tooth here on 7/3/25 at the guidance of our primary vet, just to get an assessment to see if emergency care was needed before getting an appointment with a veterinary dentist. They took her back after some initial paperwork and quickly assessed that the tooth was stable and she didn't seem to be in pain. Since we were in and out in maybe 10 minutes, they agreed not to even charge us. And they were clearly invested in our dog's wellbeing, not trying to shuffle us out the door. My best friend Ruby who is a 13 year old pitbull came in for emergency surgery of a mass in her spleen, after consultation with our wonderful doctor, he fully informed me on every possible outcome, and went forward with surgery. It's usually not under the best circumstances that you have to go to an emergency vet. The two times we have been here the staff has been very kind, supportive, helpful and understanding that we were there under stressful and difficult situations. They called and/or texted after our visits to see how our pet is or how we are doing and if we have any questions. For our latest visit in the middle of the night, we were accidentally overcharged (there was a lot going on / emergency situation) and they contacted us the next morning to let us know of the error and to process a refund when we were ready to contact them. Tldr; you don't want to be here but if you need an ER then this place is great. I appreciated the happy, friendly attitude of everyone there so much so that I've gotten 3 hours of sleep today and still felt the need to get this review written before passing out. Sadly we have a normal ER and hospital after going through some things in 2023. But this morning at 1am, when I called the VSC in Lynnwood (that I really do like) they were backed up for what we needed and estimated a 6hr wait. They suggested I call Timberline and not wait with my pups condition. I gave them a call and someone picked up immediately, super friendly, asking for some basic info and what was going on. I explained my pups cardiologist was up at the VSC but that they were pretty backed up. After understanding what we needed they said to come on up. I said we were about 20 min away. When we arrived, they quickly saw us and opened the door asking if I was Leina. I confirmed and they said great there was a check in form but they had already touched base with the VSC and gotten all of my pups records so they could make the best and informed plan. This blew me away. Our pup needed a somewhat simple procedure so things were pretty straightforward. It wasn't my first rodeo per se so I knew what to expect. The pricing was more than our normal VSC visit but understandable since it is an ER. Everyone we encountered were super friendly and mind you- we got there at 2am and left around 4:30am. There was even a gal who was trying to weigh another pup who was trying to make a run for it and she just laughed and asked him to stay put on the scale. read more

It seems most the time people have better experiences than we did. This hospital was recommended to us after our vet (Roosevelt Animal Hospital) had our dog on antibiotics for 7 days. We left on vacation and he was on the mend (doing almost a complete 180). We are unsure what made it flip back but everyone's assumption is that he drank dirty water and the diagnosis was pneumonia. So our vet (RAH) recommended Timberline for immediate help. We were quoted a large range, but had our dog sitter bring him in immediately. They went through all health history questions (despite RAH) having it and the chest X-Ray. Made her sit for 2+ hours to discuss how everything was going to be paid, despite her mentioning I was the owner and out of town but would be depositing over the phone. I'd like to note here the doctor read the price range wrong so when the front desk called, they gave a different number ($600+ difference). This was an unexpected emergency while I was on a trip, right before Christmas and after I adopted another dog that has heart issues and had to see a cardiologist the week before, so $600 was a big difference to me. (Not that I need to justify this to anyone). Especially when they had no clue how long he would be staying, so my gut reaction was that they were going gouge me considering they called me three times in a row as we were trying to get my onboarded with a higher quote each time. I had to call each day for a check up despite them stating in the invoice that it included at least one call a day for an update. The Doctor did call late in the evening on intake day to apologize for not taking the time to explain what was happening or needed with my dog given I was not in front of her. Which was where I thought "Okay, it's just a misunderstanding, it's going to be fine". (which I am aware this is an emergency vet but they had my dog quarantined and on oxygen and were VERY concerned about him). And again comments of me popping in whenever I wanted seemed like a misread on their end because I was STILL across the country. But I received an update that I would be able to bring him home potentially the next day or following. Which was amazing news! But then the next day, again, I couldn't get ahold of the doctor. Was told "We will have the vet call". I just needed to know if I had to arrange pick up for him. They didn't call me until I called and asked the front desk who then got answers from a vet. They had him off oxygen and only on antibiotics for the day so he was ready according to the tech. But no one called me. So I called again, was told at 6/6:30pm I could arrange someone to pick him up. I could only find one person that was able to get there at 8pm. They issued a refund of my remaining balance thank god. But they made them wait for over an hour to bring him out (again Emegerency Hospital that I believe a employee said they were understaffed that night). But then they had no update for me, testing hadn't came back on his viruses/other things that I thought they would go over. No update on his pneumonia. Just that he was ready to go home. Front desk lady, was very nice but assured me someone would call me to go over the results as soon as they were in. She also was the first person to read my file and tell me "Now i know you're out of town, so who will be picking him up". Finally someone who reads his file and doesn't call him a GIRL! I spoke with my vet (RAH) and they never got an update and it was past the 5-7 days that we should have heard back according to Timberline. So I call, and they tell me "Oh, yeah the test results have been here - I'll tell the Vet to call you ASAP." Never got to speak to this vet, she called 10 hours later in the evening and I missed the call assuming they were just never going to call. She said he was negative on all fronts (we thought he had the respiratory disease going around) but I had told her he was still coughing and reverse sneezing. She said "Let it run its course". Well today I wake up and notice a bright pink almost like stitches coming out from his cheek... it goes into his face at two places with a small knot on the outside and moves.. THEY DIDN'T EVEN TAKE THE TIME TO FULLY EXAMINE HIM BEFORE RELEASING HIM. No apology, no sorry for the inconvenience. Just bring him back the day before Christmas Eve and we will try to find a time to remove it. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. I had never heard of it, took a chance because they were recommended by my Vet and could immediately take my dog in while I was across the country and I REGRET IT. If you want to be your dogs advocate from the start to finish, then come here and pay an arm and leg and know that you are going to have to ask the questions and follow up on test results. They don't even send the results to your vet to go over with you while they are busy! read more

My Neighbors's dog was sick. I was asked if I'd take him to Timberline and drop him off. I checked in and waited easily an hour before a tech came out to take him back to take his temp and weigh him. She said she'd be right back with him. I explained that I was dropping him off and the owner would pick him up after work. She told me I had to stay with him. 4 hours. Later the owner got there and i bailed. I have no idea how long she waited. The 3 stars are for very nice staff - receptionists and the tech, exceedingly clean establishment. There was one gal who was a cleaning fool. Maybe it was her job or maybe she has OCD, either way she was doing work. Finally, they have a coffee machine in the waiting room for the customers. Kind of fancy one too. read more

The team at Timberline are all top notch and provided the most loving and competent care we could have asked for when our dog was injured. They were responsive when we called, were ready to receive us when we arrived, and moved quickly and surely to ensure our dog was stabilized immediately. They were clear about what procedures were needed, her prognosis, the costs associated, and what our dog was going through step by step. They treated our dog with great care, managed her 2.5 day stay in the hospital beautifully and comfortably, and treated her humans with great care - we are grateful and she is now back to her healthy and happy self.
