I had them at smorgasburg. I will never forget that chicken sandwich. I'm incredibly picky but god damn. That was heavenly.

Hidden Gem Right by Penn Station!…read more Stumbled upon Las Toco No. 1 while killing time before catching a train, and wow--what a find. This little spot punches way above its weight, especially considering the tourist-trap territory it's in. The tacos were the standout. The pork was tender and seasoned with real depth--you could tell it had been cooking low and slow for hours. The chicken held its own too: juicy, well-spiced, and not the dried-out filler you sometimes get at quick-service taco joints. Both came on solid double-stacked tortillas that actually held up to the fillings (a small miracle). The quesadillas were comfort food perfection. Melty, gooey, with that satisfying griddled crispness on the outside. The pork quesadilla edged out the chicken for me, but honestly both were excellent. Generous portions of meat, not just a sad sprinkle hiding in a sea of cheese. The vibe is no-frills--this isn't a sit-down date-night spot--but the service was quick and friendly, which is exactly what you want when you've got a train to catch. Prices were fair for the neighborhood, and the food came out fast without feeling rushed or sloppy. If you're heading in or out of Penn Station and need something better than the usual grim concourse options, do yourself a favor and walk over to Las Toco No. 1. I'll absolutely be back next time I'm passing through. 4.5/5 -- would've been a full 5 if they had horchata!

When you walk in, the menu is clearly visible above the register and they have burritos, quesadillas, and much more. The fam has always hyped the burritos, so I wasn't really looking to try anything else for my first time. I was on the fence between the chicken ranchero and seitan burrito. Since I had never had the latter before, I have to give it a try. I liked that there was an option for a spinach tortilla, I went with that. It was ready in about 10 minutes, and while it is indeed a take out spot, no one else was sitting inside, so we were able to occupy the four seats that were there. The burrito was humongous. I should have taken a picture of it, but I was so hungry and ready to dive in I just didn't. It was delicious. We all shared chips and a hefty amount of red salsa, that was surprisingly spicy. What a meal! We were lucky to just beat a big crowd of people. Folks were standing around waiting and pretty much the entire standing area of the little place to get orders. I'm glad I finally got to try and I would come back. The closest thing that I normally go to is the Nintendo store. I could definitely make it happen again.

The combinations of spices, sauces, and textures feel intentional and unique, especially with the South Asian influence throughout the menu. Portions are big, flavors are bold, and this is definitely the type of place you go when you want something indulgent and packed with flavor. My Taysty Tayke: Get Down & Dirty, Expeditiously: Tikkaville Sandwich One of the more interesting chicken sandwiches I've had. The tikka sauce, mint chutney, pickled onions, and coleslaw all come together in a way that really works. Flavorful, layered, and memorable. The Clucking Waffle Sandwich was spicy with more of a buffalo-style flavor than I expected. Definitely a lot to handle in sandwich form. Personally, I'd rather eat the chicken and waffle separately than together, but the flavor still hits. The Pataka Fries were another standout, saucy, flavorful, and loaded enough to almost be a meal on their own. Service: Quick and efficient, fits the fast-casual energy. Plates From My Visit: Clucking Waffle Sandwich Tikkaville Sandwich Pataka Fries In Conclusion: A bold and flavorful chicken spot with distinctive spices and creative combinations that stand out from the usual fast-casual lineup. Come hungry because the portions are no joke. Stamped by Elajas
