I honestly felt like I was in an episode of Bar Rescue. My wife and I were staying nearby and were starving. We arrived around 7:45 on a Friday night and grabbed a spot at the bar. As others indicated, this bar is dominated by regulars (which I understand, they help pay the bills). One customer walked in completely drunk and needed assistance to walk out. It didn't appear that she was served here, so that's a win. Back to us...There was a female bartender who was fairly attentive. The older man working just needed to move faster (he was friendly). It took us almost 10 minutes to get our food order in. Once we got our food in (broasted chicken) we were told it would be 20-25 minutes. I had the four piece (two wings/two breasts) with tots and a biscuit. The chicken was good, not great. Tots were good. My wife enjoyed her chicken. Popcorn is always a nice touch. Drafts were cold with a decent selection. Multiple pool tables. In general, Roosters appears to need a little TLC. I would certainly explore other options in the area. read more

Brought a friend for birthday lunch. We both got the broasted chicken. No flavor, no spice, just a harder crust. My chicken looked more like a back, there was very little meat. Very disappointed. Don't go here wearing anything party related. You'll get profiled for wearing a crown and a sash. Walked in on a Saturday night around 1030 for mine and my fiancés bachelor/ bachelorette weekend. Absolutely horrid service. Male bartender didn't even look in our direction. Dirty looks to me specifically from the female bartender. She absolutely refused to even acknowledge me after checking my id or my fiancés for that matter- we both of which had a single drink at one other place. We were really coming for the pool tables so our group could hang out and enjoy having fun. Female bartender was more interested in flirting with a regular and eating the crumble cookies he brought in than serving more than maybe 2 people of our group. Visited with some work friends around 4:00 on Thursday 4/17. A member of the party order a Bud Light, only to be told they were "out"! Let's be honest, someone didn't want to tap a new keg, bars don't run out of Bud Light....ever(especially at 4:00pm on a weekday). The food was good and our server(I don't know name) did an excellent job keeping our orders separate while making sure are needs were met. I actually hope she is my server again at my next visit. Jess goes above and beyond to make sure that the place is decked out for every holiday and event and that her team and guests are taken of. The menu is great and I love the monthly specials. Came here for lunch with my mother and children, it was a nice 72° day. We walk inside and it was at least 80. So we sat outside on the patio. Bathrooms were freezing cold and so was our waiters attitude. He was quick with the menus and drink order, but took about 10 minutes to get our drinks, about 30 minutes to get our appetizer, and about 20 minutes after that to get our food. Our food finally gets there and I can instantly tell its the wrong food. So i tell him, I ordered the chicken fajita wrap, this isn't what I ordered. He replies, it's got tomatoes yes? And sour cream yes? This is your food. In disbelief, I'm just shrug it off, whatever. I pull up the menu on my phone and see they actually gave me the chicken ranch wrap. So my mother goes in to pay and says to the manager that they gave me the wrong food. He plays dumb, oh did they? And that was it. So i go up to him with my food and tell him ranch doesn't belong on a chicken fajita wrap. This isn't what I ordered. So thats when he offered a full refund. I want to be clear, I'm not upset they brought me the wrong food, it happens. I'm upset because I told our waiter right away and he told me I was wrong and he brought me the right food. An experience for certain... Went on a Saturday night arriving around 8pm hoping to throw some darts (a new COVID hobby). At that time it was a small town bar atmosphere. Ordered a couple beers and an appetizer; service was excellent and the food was good. By 10pm it seems that the dress code changes from casual to 'sagged' and the noise level rose disproportionately to the number of patrons. Would have easily given Roosters a 4 star rating based upon the food and service. Can't force myself to look past the overall clientele shift. My daughter and I came here after our annual Mayo visit for health appointments. I stopped because we were in the area for another stop and it was down pouring. I wish I would have picked a different place. This is more a bar, pool tables, pull tabs and dirty floors. I ordered a burger which came out looking delicious but when I bit into it I realized the paper (that normally separates raw patties) was still on my burger... how did the cook not notice this when flipping the burger? I stopped eating it and ate the fries while waiting for my server to return. He never came back to ask how everything was nor to offer refills. Second time here. Stopped here in a rush on my way to work this morning. Sat at the bar. Bartender came right over with a menu and asked about drinks. So far so good. Ordered an all meat omelette with hash browns which came out quickly and hot. So much for the good news... After a few bites I began to wonder if they have any seasonings in the kitchen. Rooster's Barn & Grill I've tried this place several times. Both times I ordered the Broasted Chicken meal. The first time was fantastic, dare I say a KFC killer. The second time sadly not so much. The chicken was burnt, and you could taste that bitter char. The biscuit was really chewy and the taste of raw flour was abundant. The coleslaw was ok, nothing special. My brother ordered a burger and it was soggy and bland. After my first experience, I really wanted to give this place a 5 star. I feel Rooster's Barn & Grill should cut down their menu and really focus on perfecting that amazing Chicken recipe. Large menu's take focus off quality. The broasted chicken is exceptionally good. I would suggest ordering for takeout..... Service the female bartenders really need some training. The male bartenders are very professional. Going there after dark can be very sketchy, l witnessed a drug deal in the bathroom on a Saturday night. I felt unsafe as it appeared many patrons were over served. Today l went to order a could buckets of chicken for the carpenters doing work at my house. I enter with my dog 6 pound Ellie whom just received here service dog documents. She is very mellow and has been trained to behave that way. The patrons that noticed her greeted her with big smile as she just sticks her head out of my coat. I sat down figuring l would have a drink while l ordered my buckets of chicken... The two lady's behind the bar completely ignored me, when l asked to place my order they completely ignored me. More bar than grill, this place has a few pool tables, a dart board (maybe a couple?), and plenty of tables. The fried chicken was supposed to be its signature dish and it did not disappoint! The chicken was moist and the batter was perfect. A good broasted chicken is hard to beat. The tater tots are a special treat because most places stick to the basic fries. Service was fine but the place was empty for lunch. I tasted the chicken sandwich which was also superb. All in all a good place to eat. Not much atmosphere but I have a hard time downgrading because of that. I think I would do take-out if I wanted to enjoy their food again. Great small town billiards bar atmosphere with a surprisingly large menu. The menu reminds me of Sanford's but the food is actually in-house made, not pre-frozen commercial. Excellent sandwich, burger, & chicken fare. We were there for lunch; so, I can't comment on the drinks. read more

Unbelievable! This place as gone from great to terrible since January. I have ordered 6 burgers medium rare. Every burger was burnt. As a cancer patient I have to be very particular. On Friday Connor asked me to leave the South Roosters when I was displeased with my burger burnt like beef jerky. This place never had good food but at least they tried to help the customer. This place is very close to our house and we read they serve breakfast and wanted to give it a try. We love diner type places for breakfast and generally don't need anything super fancy. When you walk in, there is no obvious place to stop for the hostess to seat you, which can lead to confusion whether you should seat yourself or wait to be seated. It was busy, but it was a weekend morning, so it was to be expected. Overall, it is definitely a bar. Dim lighting, pool tables, and very few dining tables. We were seated at a high top table that was so close to another table, you couldn't even pull your chair out far enough to sit down. We had to pull the entire table to one side just to fit our four people at the table. The service was okay. Aggressive is how I would classify it. The waitress was on a mission. She never stopped moving, going from table to table refilling drinks and taking orders. When she took our order, she actually cut us off as we were saying what we wanted so she could ask us how we wanted our eggs, hashbrowns or tots, etc. If you go into the menu expecting a greasy spoon diner experience, you'll get exactly that. The food is over the top, excessive, fried, and smothered in gravy/sauces. I was looking for just some eggs, bacon, and maybe some fruit. There is no fruit on the menu or any fresh produce for that matter. There was one menu item that was close to what I would order, but was WAY more food than I could ever eat. I ended up just ordering "sides" of eggs and bacon instead. For being a chicken place, I was surprised to see very little chicken included on the breakfast menu. We waited a long time for our food. I'm always a bit more hard on breakfast establishments when the food takes a long time. Its not like they are cooking elaborate food, its just some eggs and hashbrowns, why does it take 45 minutes? The plates came out greasy and there was no presentation to the food. Not a huge deal, again, if you aren't expecting anything fancy. This is a good bar with a good beer selection. The food is good and the service is generally friendly. Best breakfast in town, in my opinion! The reason I can't give Roosters a 5-star is because for some reason it ALWAYS takes a very long time for food. It doesn't seem to matter how busy it is or what time of day it is, you can expect to wait 15-20 mins for food. I don't get it, but it's the way it is. The reality is that the wait for food definitely keeps us from going there for lunch and sometimes for other meals depending on how much time we have. read more

I come here often. The bartenders are amazing and are very friendly. It's been over 6 weeks and they haven't fixed the popcorn machine. Seriously a simple item to provide to your guests. It's also so hot in here. I asked for them to turn air on and apparently they were instructed to not turn it on. Not sure why the owner isn't caring about their patrons. We were having such a good time at the north location on NYE! The food was tasty and reasonably priced, our waitress was awesome, and the atmosphere was fun. We were finishing up our drinks and getting ready to leave when out of the blue the bartender that looks like Mr clean punched my husband in his stomach, knocking him off his barstool. Then he ran across the bar to my husband's friend and choked him, leaving marks around his neck. Both my husband and his friend never met this guy, and never even said a word to him, so this was completely random and unprovoked. Lucky for this bartender none of us fought back. We're all in our 30's and 40's, and fighting people at that age is just pathetic and sad. He's also lucky that we aren't the kind of people to press charges. It's just a shame because this bar could've easily been our go to place to hang out, but we'll never come back all because of this horrible experience. I just hope that management is smart enough to fire this guy before someone gets seriously hurt or killed! read more

The food was cooked wrong And there were no dipping sauces. Only 1 ketchup for my chicken strips basket. I also order 2 other things that came with absolutely no sauces or sides. I would NEVER recommend this place. I went to try to get a refund and the manger said he couldn't do anything. HE WOULDNT EVEN TRY TO MAKE IT RIGHT.
