Quick service and delicious hearty breakfast during our visit to Mayo. Easy walk across the street, and the staff was friendly.

"Cooking MC's Like a Pound of Bacon" (Vanilla Ice) Honnnnk! That's the sound of your wake-up call to speed on over to the Honker before it fills up with the hungry AM crowd! You'll be welcomed with open wings, a smile, and maybe even a pound of bacon. Some of the best things in life are Canadian...maple syrup, Mounties, Ryan Reynolds, and brekky at this beloved diner in Rochester (ok, so the latter is not technically Canadian). Breakfast here is basic, but you'll get humon-goose midwestern portions cooked with love. If the saturated fat levels send you into cardiac arrest, don't fret your pending swan song! Your goose isn't cooked, because the famous Mayo Clinic/St. Mary's campus is just across the street. As Canada's Linda Richman would tell it, they'll fix up your gonnectagazoink in a jiffy! While we were mostly pleased with our morning meals, Paul Bunyan would be disappointed by "The Lumberjack" as the taste and texture of the pancakes fell flat. "The Feast" is the delicious and filling comfort-food solution, including eggs, hash browns, and perfectly crispy bacon...sans pancakes. It will fuel you up for a full day of axe swinging! I added a Mounds latte to my order, and it tasted exactly as though a Mounds Bar had been blended straight into the coffee concoction. "Me goose-ta!" "Anything less than the best is a felony", but I unfortunately have to shave 1.25 points for the pancakes and somewhat dated vibes. Giving this bountiful breakfast bonanza 3.75 wing flaps. *This review is sponsored by Canadian Ryan Gooseling, Ganderson Cooper, Kevin Bacon, and Robert Matthew Van Winkle

Bunnies Coconut Cake... take it to go if you are too full to eat it after your meal. You will not regret it.

This place serves a very important purpose in Rochester, MN. Comfort food, friendly service and convenience to local hotels and St. Mary's hospital. They actually make an amazing Old Fashioned cocktail if you need one. Over several days I enjoyed the walleye dinner, walleye sandwich and the bunny coconut cake to go.

Skillet breakfast and a huge English muffin. French toast in the back.

Very nice place. Friendly staff. We had Katina as our waitress. She was great! Had breakfast and the skillet was huge. I almost couldn't finish it. Reasonably priced as well

Not cheap but food was great! Open faced turkey with like two cups of real mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. Onion rings were good- great. Peanut butter pie dessert was really sweet but delicious. Our server was very friendly and good. No complaints here other than a bit pricey. (Salmon salad was good but light on salmon compared to other salmon salads we've had.) They have walleye special on Friday I'd like to try. Great location to St Mary.

Prompt service for us to be seated. It was pretty busy during breakfast/brunch time. The omelette was cooked as requested with additional veggies. Ambiance is loud due to it bring a busy Sunday morning. Coffee was good. They have fresh squeezed orange juice and offers alcoholic beverages as well. Overall, a great dining experience.

Wonderful food! It's a bit of a pricey place but definitely worth visiting if you're in Rochester. The restraint is clean and beautiful and the staff is always pleasant and smiling. Location has to stairs so is perfect for handicapped accessibility. And is right across the street from St Mary's hospital.

Just wanted a bit more sauce. The salmon was cooked well with a crispy skin underneath. Flavors played together nicely with the textures. We enjoyed the dessert as the textures (there's a theme here) had great interplay with the flavors in the dish. Only wish that pastry was hot. The ambience is nice and chill. It can feel a bit cramped but gives kinda a speakeasy vibe meets hipster. Note that finding parking is a bit challenging here. There are two booths on the window that would make excellent date spots. The reason for the rating is due to the service. I made a reservation for the spot and made reference to it being our anniversary. However, nothing was done to reference the reason for the dinner. I had never been there and didn't know about the booth availability. The place was busy but we didn't get much attention (menus were left on the table, didn't get small plates to eat the Drummies properly, got one refill of water toward the end, etc). I felt bad about this rating because I've read people enjoying the experience. However, this is what I experienced. The food is great. Service could be better.

Looks like they change the recipe throughout the seasons. Save room for dessert. We ordered the fresh baked cookies. Thats right, fresh baked cookies. Baked when you ordered them. Loved it! So happy with our visit to Bleu Duck. We will be back on our next trip to Rochester.

We stayed at the hotel and just wanted to eat/drink without having to go out in the cold. It was around 7 pm and we thought it would be busy for a Saturday, it was not. There were three of us. We were seated right away. At first, we had one server who took our drink orders and then he got busy with other tables so we were forgotten about for about 10 minutes before ordering. But, that was alright. Gigi, became our server and she was also bartending. She was the best! She was on it. After dinner, a large group came into the bar and she was pumping those drinks out so fast. My brother-in-law ordered a 3 course meal off the guest appreciation menu, which was a great deal for $39.00. My husband and I ordered the calamari for an appetizer. This was the only thing we were disappointed with as the aioli had no flavor nor did the calamari. We ordered sushi, the California Roll and Spider Roll, both very delicious. We enjoyed our experience. If ever in the area, we will definitely return!

I ordered the Beef Stroganoff which was tasty. Included braised local beef, mushrooms, onions, garlic, parmesan, cream sauce, dill, house-made fettuccini, topped with sour cream. The sauce was light so you didn't feel like it weighed you down. My husband ordered the birria tacos. Beef brisket, white onions, mozzarella, cilantro, corn tortilla, green salsa, beef broth, lime Although they were tasty, they were quite greasy. Prices were reasonable. A tasty choice (check out the photo). Then I asked for a reuben sandwich with a side of fries. I really liked the two-tone rye bread. There was modest amount of corned beef. Notice I didn't say 'generous.' The kraut, Swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing were a solid compliment. BUT the fries.... Check out the photo and look at the fries. These were double dunked in oil, greasy and sogged out, slightly charred, and meh tasting. I looked over at another patron's plate of food and saw her fries looked perfect. Golden, single dunk in oil, and crisp. Can I add a sad face emoji here? I called over the bartender and had him look at my fries, then look at the other patron's, and tell me the difference. He saw what I saw. I told him what was wrong with mine and asked why. He apologized and said he'd take 50% off my food bill. I saw him go back to the kitchen and have a conversation about my fries, which I appreciated. He didn't blow me off and let the kitchen know they dropped the ball. I've eaten at a lot of places from dives to fine dining, and I think the sign of good eatery is one that can excel at the basics.....like french fries. Plus, when you have your "A" staff working in the kitchen, but your staff sends out subpar fries to a customer...what does that say about the kitchen staff and leadership? Will I go back?
