I went to roosters years ago.. over on Dixie. I can't recall the food experience due to all the sports yelling and a ball game going on that I had no clue how important this is to rooster goers. So avoided it after that. I live right down the road from this location for over two years and finally decided to try it again. IT WAS AMAZING. The dumpster fries.. so delicious! The Cajun chicken.. Chicken! We were in Louisville and looking for a place to sit and catch up on work things - and have a few cocktails and Roosters happened to be nearby to where we were staying. We headed over and as we drew near, the parking lot had a lot of cars there, and this was during the week, so that was a pretty good sign. We grabbed two seats at the bar and proceeded to get some cocktail action going with the bartender. She was nice enough, a little frazzled to be sure, but she recovered and made us two decent drinks. The menu is pretty much sports bar-centric - that is to say, a lot of fried and finger foods. We were not looking for a fine dining experience so we had no issue with the menu selections. After a lot of back and forth, we decided on the wings - 20 to be exact. Now the one thing we did not know was that the size of the wings was not exactly what you get everywhere else. The wings we received appeared to be chicken-sized wings and drums - yea man, these bad boys were HUGE. We opted for the standard Buffalo style hotness and I have to say, that the wings were cooked perfectly. Nice and crunchy and just the right amount of heat for us. The fries that came with the meal were ok - standard issue fries, neither good nor bad. The drinks kept rolling and the bartender was quite entertaining (I forgot her name -= sorry) All in all a solid experience and one you want experience if you are in the mood for wings in particular. From sit to serve in less than 15 minutes, and the boneless wings were spot on in flavor and texture. TVs enough for any sport enthusiast yet the atmosphere didn't drown out conversation. It's hard to find a great meal for a fair price nowadays with everything being pricey. I recently came here because I am a huge fan of the Roosters business and wanted to check out this location.... Parking is easy to find, they even have additional parking in the back though the RV that resides on the property is a bit odd. Heading inside you notice this place is beautiful and well kept as well as it is inside. There was plenty of seats open and it was just me. The menu is still very affordable and I spent under $20 for a burger, Fries, boneless wings and a sprite (before tip) that's definitely a great moneys worth there and it always tastes to perfection. We happened by chance to find this place as we are here from Indiana, we are so glad we found it!! We were seated immediately and greeted by our server,Emily promptly. Had lunch with a friend/colleague at this location. Seated quickly while it was very busy. Server/bartender got our order right away. Kitchen brought out wrong food to me which our server corrected quickly. Overall service was great from our server, not so much from the kitchen. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. They sat us down and no one came to take our drink orders or anything for over 20 minutes. Then a waitress comes over and tells us we're supposed to have another lady but she would take our order for now. She takes our drink and food order. Then another random lady that's not our waitress drops off the food. We got a 10 piece garlic wing and a grilled chicken sandwich. The wings had hardly no sauce at all on it. The grilled sandwich had also no flavor. The ranch that we ordered, also, no flavor. It was weird how it was so bland. The sauce on the wings was good but there was barely any on it. On top of everything, if you wanted a side with your sandwich you had to pay almost $4 extra, also toppings you had to pay extra. Crazy to me. Our waitress came about 30 minutes after us being there and said "do yall need anything?" Then again to give us our check then disappeared once again and we waited and waited to pay her and she never came. Finally we just left the cash on the table and left. This place is horrible. I could not believe the large amount of workers they had yet all they seemed to do was stand around be on their phones and talk to each other instead of doing their job. I came in here for lunch because I was craving some chicken wings. I ordered 10 wings (all drums) tossed in the Carolina Gold sauce. I waited for about 15 minutes while I indulged in an adult beverage. Eventually my wings came out and they looked like they barely had any sauce on them. After further inspection, the sauce had all settled to the bottom of the plate which concerned me because that made me think that my plate had been sitting for a bit. Me and my family have been going to this roosters location for years. We have always received kind and friendly service whether it be me and my wife dinning or in a large party the staff are always great. The restaurant is pretty spacious so even when its packed you don't feel cramped. Its like any other restaurant or sports bar that plays live sports the place can be very noisy at times. This is my favorite place to get wings in the area, but the other items on the menu such as the sandwiches, salads, and the pizza are very good and beat other some other local places. If you wanted something other than wings my best recommendations is the chicken bacon ranch sub sandwich or the white pizza to be those items can compete with most sandwich or pizza places around. We stopped by Roosters by accident. The restaurant we planned on going to lost their power-but it's ok. Roosters was great. Definitely a pleasant surprise-and very laid back atmosphere. They're known for their wings and that's what I opted for. My husband went for their burger. I had their 5-wings and tater tots; hubs went with the curly fries. Be warned, everything is a-la carte, so you will pay for everything separately. It isn't bad because the prices are ok. My 5 wings and tots were like $8 and some change. I am noticing something-more and more restaurants are breaking wings up and calling each piece a wing and they did that here also. I don't really care for that. I want 5 whole wings-not 5 pieces of a wing! I got 2 and a half wings. Anyway. The wings were good. They could have used a little more salt but I think they don't put too much salt on their wings because they can come with sauces. I had their honey BBQ and honestly I like their homemade ketchup better. The tots were great-but how do you mess up tots?!! Hubby wasn't excited about they curly fries. They were curly or flavored so-maybe stick with the tater tots. The service was great. Our server Jennifer did a great job. She was really friendly-kept my drink full and was attentive to mine and hubby's table. We got a kick out of all their sayings on the walls. They definitely keep the conversation going. Ordered some curbside pickup tonight for dinner! Called and placed our order and it was ready when we called to tell them we had arrived. Our food was brought to us by a friendly employee wearing a mask and gloves. I checked our order before we left and everything was accounted for and fresh. I repeat... an order of 5 wings were always 5 whole wings -- meaty, juicy and a choice of several wonderful sauces of different flavor and heat. So, we went back this week after several months of staying away from dine-in restaurants. I ordered the Red Rooster Salad and 5 wings. The salad was great... same as always. Then the wings came out. Instead of 5 whole wings, I received one wing, two drummies, and one flat -- so, 3 dummies and 2 flats, for a total of 5 pieces. I asked the server about this, who said she would ask the general manager. The reply was... well you must be very lucky to get all whole wings, because we don't order them like that. What a line of bs. Instead of apologizing and telling us that because of COVID and a chicken shortage, and instead of raising prices, we decided to change how it's served, which I may have understood. Been there to support my nephews local youth baseball team and Cub Scout troop Have a large group of buddies who try to meet once a month for a guys night out. It is a perfect place for this with great wings, big choice of appetizers and reasonably priced pitchers of beer!
