Check your bill before you pay or leave a tip!!! I handed the waitress 27 % tip, she said thank you. When I went to pay my bill there was a $16,89 add on. I asked her why? She told me when waiting on five people or more, there is an automatic 20% tip charge to the bill. She told me it is stated on the back of the menu. This place is a perfect brunch spot sort of tucked away off the main drag... wasn't too crowded and the service was awesome! Kind waitress, genuine... goes a long way for me. Booths and tables weren't over the top fancy or anything but they were really clean. It makes you feel welcome and like you can take the whole family, unlike a lot of trendy breakfast stops in Racine these days. The food was accurately priced, super affordable and you get what you pay for. Simple breakfast... simply priced. I was hoping the chicken and waffles would have been better and the corn beef hash isn't highly recommended but both were just fine. Strange hours , great breakfast. The last time I went in I was waiting to have my tires installed at a local shop and walked in. The waitresses blabbed too much and the chef cooks kept looking out of the kitchen window mean mugging and gawking at everyone in the dining room. Seemed weird. read more

I haven't eaten here in decades. No gripes, just not my scene. Then last week I got a craving for fried chicken. If lazy, I live near a kfc, so that's covered. Generally speaking, though, I either get Ferraro's on a Wednesday or Golden Chicken any other day of the week. On this particular day, however, I had a specific craving for the specific flavor of fried chicken that I thought I remembered coming from Rooster's. You ever have that? Last time, it turned out to be ice cream cake roll from the frozen section. Anyway, I was right on target. The chicken is exactly what I remembered, and more importantly, exactly what I wanted. I call it "dusty" chicken. It's like they don't shake the excess flour off before the oil dunk or something. I dunno, I'm no chef, but whatever that little speckles of breading on your fingers type of chicken is, they got it. It's a great specific flavor when I have the taste for it. The fries were killer too. My wife had breakfast at like 2pm, and was thrilled with everything. Plus, if you're a bit strapped, this is one of those great joints on a budget. Obviously prices raised a bit in the decades that I hadn't dined, but still cost effective cuisine. The proof is that you have about a 1 in 3 chance of being the youngest adult in the room. So if you have age insecurities this is a great place to feel like a kid again. (I kid. Not really.) read more

Love coming to Roosters after Church with my Husband! Always serve up a hot, filling breakfast with more than enough food for a great price. I swear by the skillets or biscuits and gravy, my husband loves the hollandaise. Always prompt, friendly, and clean. I've only been here once for dinner, just got a burger and fries, it was good. Lunch one day; breakfast the next. We were in town for a funeral and needed a place to eat. One of the wife's brothers didn't think much of this place; the other thought it was good. The one who though it was good (also the local resident) was right. Both our breakfasts and both our lunches were good. The service was good. The restaurant was clean. The prices, very good. Of the number of customers we saw here, many must think the same,. The breakfasts we had were simple fare - eggs, toast, sausage, potatoes and juice. They were cooked to order, delivered quickly and tasted good. The lunches we had were good as well. My wife ordered a patty melt with fries while I had a roast beef melt with fries. Both were cooked perfectly. Both tasted good. Nothing else needs be said. read more

Quality has really gone down hill. The restaurant had the entire cook staff walk off the job during a Friday lunch. It has been down hill since. Slow to get food. Poor food quality. Busboys get sent home before their scheduled shifts making the servers clean up slowing things even further. We're now eating elsewhere. read more

Went they're on Father's Day 2016, sat down with my three daughters ordered our food it must have waited over an hour then we had to complain because we still didn't get our food. people all around us we're getting their food after they sat down after us it was busy but that's no excuse. After the waitress came with their food I asked if they would take care of the whole bill and she said yes then after we were ready to leave the owner came over and explained that he can't do that and that I had the option of leaving. Went for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food I had was delicious. Had the 2 scrambled eggs with bacon, toast, and American fries. Everything was cooked perfectly. My kids had the belgian waffle and the French toast and both of those were delicious as well. Would have given 5 stars, but the place could use a little cleaning and it did take quite a while to get the food out to us and it wasn't real busy. Not that big of a dining room either. read more

I really enjoyed my time their if I could give four and a half stars I would.The 2 eggs 2 pieces of bacon, and the 2 pancakes were amazing. The only thing I would change is the hash browns. They are tasteless and dry. But other than that the restaurant is well organized, clean, and fresh. The waiters are also friendly. I will be eating there again. read more
