    a plate of breakfast food

I ordered a bacon omelet headhunter hashbrowns and biscuit with a side of cheesy grits with Cajun seasoning. The portion size was generous. The omelet was fluffy and flavorful with the bacon and cheddar cheese. The hashbrowns were crispy and not oily. The muffin was delightful with butter . Now the cheesy grits....... simply wonderful. Steaming hot with the zesty spices. Finally, the coffee was also good. My server was Sarah who was friendly and attentive. I'll be back!

If all you read from this review is this; try this place, you won't be disappointed. We were out for breakfast and the place we originally chose was super packed so we went to yelp and looked for a different place nearby. Mrs. Betty's Kitchen popped up as an option and we decided to give it a shot. What an amazing experience! So the place is small, but it's really cozy. The staff is courteous and make you feel like you are welcome there, almost like you're a long lost friend or distant relative. It's not too loud or cramped in any way. It's a southern menu so there's a wide variety of good eats ready to please you. The grits were slightly spicy and delicious. The biscuits were fluffy and the gravy was meaty and filling. The fried okra was exactly what I expected, good temperature (not melting your face) and flavorful. The real winners were the main meals though. We got the 2 egg breakfasts. One with over medium eggs, ham, and American fries. The other has over easy, pork chop, and hash browns. The eggs were perfectly cooked. Over medium came out with a perfect yolk that wasn't super hard or runny. The over easy were precise and there wasn't any over cooked spots at all. The American fries were good, but I'll take the hash browns any day over those. The hash browns defy logic. They are light and fluffy, perfectly cooked, and I couldn't stop eating them even when I was stuffed. The ham was well seasoned and cooked evenly. The pork chop is the star of the show. It was tender and juicy, wonderfully seasoned, and cooked better than I knew a pork chop could be. I found myself reluctant to share it because I didn't want it to end. If nothing else, this place is a hidden gem. I hope you try it out and enjoy it as much as we did.

    Shrimp and Grits

Come through Mrs. Betty!!! This has to be the best shrimp and grits I have ever had. No lie. I'm only in Racine for work today and wanted some coffee. Came across your business on DoorDash. Let me say, I need to take a nap . I'm in this office eating this food screaming "Mrs Bettyyyyyy!!!

    Loaded Shrimp & Grits

As a southerner, this is a taste of home. Plenty of seasoning and grits that are creamy not sticky. They understand how to cook a shrimp perfectly. The catfish was excellent! We will be back!

We decided to stop here for breakfast since the reviews seemed good. I will need to detail our whole experience, because it was not very good whatsoever. We were greeted in a timely manner, received a menu, silverware and water. It took a while to get our order in, and around the dining area I noticed several patrons were also waiting. Found this was due to Door Dash orders taking priority from onsite customers. My girlfriend ordered the ham and eggs, no hash browns and a side of grits. I ordered the specialty of the house the biscuits and gravy. We both ordered coffee. When the coffee came we asked for cream, and never did receive it during the whole stay. When our food arrived, it looked really good, but they had hashbrowns on her order so she asked them to fix it. The gravy on my biscuits was luke warm and the biscuits were dense, hard to cut through due to the overcooked bottoms and also luke warm. The gravy had a good taste to it, but hard to really finish since it was not up to temperature. The grits had a good creamy taste, but there was quite a lot of spicy seasoning on half of it, which made it difficult to eat the half. We waited a good 15 minutes, my girlfriend did not receive her order requiring removal of hashbrowns. We also never got a refill on water or coffee, or was even asked. She decided to cancel her order and we asked for the check. The funny thing about the coffee is it cost $2.50 for each cup, and we never got cream, sugar or asked for a refill. We were really disappointed by the whole experience, and we will not be visiting this establishment again. Was very apparent that Door Dash orders took priority over anyone in the dining room.

    Chicken and Waffles

Great looking little place with super friendly staff, great decor and a decent menu for breakfast and lunch. The menu made it hard for me to decide. I chose the chicken and waffles. I wish I had chosen the shrimp and grits. Just being honest as I always am. Not the best representation of the chicken and waffles I've had. The chicken was hot/fresh, but was just average and you could tell it wasn't seasoned or marinated just average. The waffle on the other hand was pretty good. In my opinion they just need to put more love and attention on the chicken and I would like to come back and try more items on the menu

This place has great potential and I'll explain my 4/5 star rating. The reason this place gets 4/5 stars is because they "ran out" of things we wanted to order like the macaroni and cheese, which according to their menu is only available on Saturday's (I visited this place with my family on Saturday Oct 13, 2018). We also tried to order the grandmas sweet tea, but they were out of that too. I ordered the shrimp and grits which were FANTASTIC!! My sister ordered the chicken and waffles and she said it was really yummy. I also ordered the red Koolaid and I thought I was gonna go into a diabetic shock lol the koolaid was delicious and reminded me of my childhood and how my dad used to make koolaid. The service was fast, friendly and this restaraunt has good price points for everything on the menu. I'll revisit this restaurant whenever I'm in town again.

    Country ham breakfast.
    Maryanne T.

The food here is fantastic. I had the country ham and eggs breakfast. I substituted grits for the hash browns (there is a small up charge), and the grits were some of the best I've ever had. A little spicy but really, really, good. The ham was salty and delicious. The biscuits were a little dense for my taste, but my husband loved them. My husband had the pork chop Skillet, and declared it the best pork chop he had ever had. If they keep up the quality of their ingredients this place is going to do very, very, well.

It felt like the menu was created just for me, with a selection of specialty flavored pancakes and a whole bunch of specialty lattes. I couldn't resist ordering the campfire pancakes (topped with a whole toasted marshmallow, of course!) and an iced mocha latte. The pancakes were delicious, but they were very thick, and with the chocolate drizzle, marshmallow, and graham cracker crumbles on top, it was too filling and I couldn't finish all of it. I loved my iced mocha, especially because of the perfect balance of flavors. The coffee didn't overpower the chocolate, but it didn't just taste like chocolate milk. The service at Maple Table was great--our waitress was so friendly, and even though it was pretty busy when we went, we didn't have to wait long for our food. My reason for taking off a star is because I really wanted to try the signature house donuts, but when we arrived at around 10am, our waitress told us that they were already sold out of all the donuts. That was really not the end of the world though, and my breakfast was still delicious regardless!

My mom ordered the key lime donuts & a coffee and I had a skillet with OJ. She said donuts were good but only the frosting was flavored...not the actual donut. Skillet was good but not a big portion. OJ wasn't fresh but from frozen concentrate and was thick. Overall place was nice and good. I would go back if I was in the area again.

Cozy Atmosphere, Great Service, But Food Could Improve…read more This small, charming spot has a lot of potential, but the experience was a bit mixed. The service is friendly, with two servers managing both the indoor and outdoor tables. They were attentive and quick to address any issues. When my husband's meal came out overcooked with burnt potatoes, they offered a replacement dish and even gave us complimentary beignets, which was a nice gesture. However, the food quality didn't quite match the price point. My chorizo omelet was flavorful but a bit overcooked, and while I appreciated the rosemary potatoes, the cheesy potatoes were just weird--definitely not what I expected. The coffee was a little weak for my taste but did have a pleasant flavor. As for the kids, this isn't the most family-friendly place. There's no dedicated kids menu, and while I loved the blue-beary pancakes, they didn't appeal to my little ones. We ended up ordering extra plain pancakes just to keep them happy. This spot is cute and could be a great brunch place to eat if you get the right dishes prepared correctly. I'd recommend it, but with some caution, especially if you're dining with kids or are particular about your food being cooked just right.

I got the garlic shrimp skewers which came with a Hawaiian roll, Cole slaw and a side (I chose a baked potato). My partner got the prime rib dip with hush puppies. Didn't have a chance to take a pic of the cheese curds before they were devoured! Only downside is the place is VERY noisy. Everytime someone who move a chair, the scraping sound was otherworldly. They are metal chairs on a concrete/gravel flooring. Not ideal. And waitstaff was constantly dropping things and running into each other or the chairs/tables. That was a bit chaotic. However, the food was great and so were the views. They also have live music (they had wrapped up before we got there today). I'd definitely come back (maybe sit inside near an area where you can look out on the lake).
